Not to worry, though. Everyone in the room laughed it off the table as utterly preposterous. - klhammy, on 10/26/2008, -0/+7I've read that McCain tends to base his policy decisions on whoever is standing in front of him, ever frustrating his aides with changing positions and off message claims. So this would make sense: after talking to a group of small business owners he naturally says what he thinks they want to hear (even though it's completely opposite to what he claims his new position is)!

- MediaWeasel, on 10/26/2008, -0/+5The sad thing is, the Republican party is in meltdown. Droves of Republicans are defecting and voting for Obama. The Republican party is at war with itself and isacknowledging that Palin is an albatross and that McCain is spralling out of control. The Republican party admits, in public, that it is in tatters - that it has lost its way, it no longer represents Republican ideals.
And yet, people want to vote in a party that is in tatters? They think that voting in McCain, one of the reasons for their being in tatters, is going to suddenly turn it around? Vote for the Republican party and you're voting in a dead elephant. - inactive, on 10/26/2008, -0/+3Flip flopping, Flim Flam man!
- argoff, on 10/26/2008, -2/+1We need Ron Paul style deregulation, not McCain style. Regulating the banks and many other industries is just regulating the symptoms. Instead, kill the Federal Reserve and most government bureaucracies at the department level.
