McCain Suggests Wife Participate In Topless Contest

huffingtonpost.com — Yesterday evening John McCain took part in the Sturgis Rally 2008 at Buffalo Chip in South Dakota, an annual tribute to veterans. The candidate told attendees, that he encouraged his wife to participate in the festivities: "I told her with a little luck, she could be the only woman ever to serve as both the first lady and Miss Buffalo Chip."

This from a guy who voted to impeach Bill Clinton because he was "genuinely concerned that the institution of the Presidency not be harmed, either by the President's conduct, or by Congress' reaction to his conduct." I suppose his next campaign stop will be a Hooter's restaurant where his wife will wear the uniform so that he can pick up some votes while patrons eat their chicken wings. What a class act.

    Joke or not, a presidential candidate who is trying to appeal to the religious right shouldn't be suggesting that his wife appear in a sleazy contest where the girls are topless and have to perform acts like sucking a pickle, or putting an entire banana down their throat.

    I doubt the Evangelicals will approve of our prospective First Lady being the equivalent of a $20 whore.
