- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -12/+122Why would McCain want to pick someone who respects another citizens right to love?
- Foot56, on 08/14/2008, -6/+91John would rather leave his wife becaues she was not "normal" now.
"When McCain returned to America in 1973 to a fanfare of publicity and a handshake from Richard Nixon, he discovered his wife had been disfigured in a terrible car crash three years earlier. Her car had skidded on icy roads into a telegraph pole on Christmas Eve, 1969. Her pelvis and one arm were shattered by the impact and she suffered massive internal injuries. For nearly 30 years, Carol has maintained a dignified silence about the accident, McCain and their divorce. But last week at the bungalow where she now lives at Virginia Beach, a faded seaside resort 200 miles south of Washington, she told The Mail on Sunday how McCain divorced her in 1980 and married Cindy, 18 years his junior and the heir to an Arizona brewing fortune, just one month later." - duckley, on 08/14/2008, -4/+65McCain is the Wal-Mart of presidential candidates.
- banderwocky, on 08/14/2008, -5/+65Exxon John would rather go with a "Pro-extramarital affair" VP.
- neognostic, on 08/14/2008, -3/+50Look for Cheney to take him on a hunting trip soon.
- fenderbiz, on 08/15/2008, -4/+49Pro-gay rights? It's called pro-human rights, McCain.
- nblsavage, on 08/15/2008, -4/+49It's not "gay" rights - it's EQUAL rights for gays. Either a right applies to everyone or it applies to no one. That includes state-recognized marriage.
- poprocksandsoda, on 08/14/2008, -6/+50This is one thing I strongly disagree with McCain on; I think gay people should be afforded the same rights as heteros. It's no different than discrimination by race, age, etc.
- rawfulexdee, on 08/14/2008, -6/+48Whatever happened to "all men are created equal"?
It's not a matter of whether you believe that being gay is a choice or not, it's a matter of McCain not wanting to work with someone who believes in EVERY American having equal rights and that is horrific. - scottsutherland, on 08/15/2008, -7/+42"And we can CERTAINLY exclude people of color."

................... ..... ... - michaelpinto, on 08/14/2008, -1/+32So if EVERY American has equal rights then you should be in favor of allowing someone who is gay to get married like any other heterosexual American. It's sad that Barry Goldwater could support gay rights years ago - the Republican party of today lacks a real moral compass.
- Shigglyboo, on 08/14/2008, -4/+33holy *****, that's news to me. Why isn't this on TV? I thought the liberal media would just eat something like this up? He dumped his poor injured wife for younger rich girl? What an *****. He should have taken care of his wife and gotten a mistress.
- Shirleycakes, on 08/15/2008, -12/+39Why the digg down? He's right. The Republican party by and large is anti-gay. Sickening as it is, it's become a party platform in recent years.
I can't imagine any one is shocked that McCain might pick a homophobe for his running mate. - TrueXtremeIcon, on 08/15/2008, -4/+30"I thought the liberal media"
There's your first mistake. - PSotter, on 08/15/2008, -2/+28I'll vote for McCain if I ever start to believe that I have too many rights.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -4/+30please just keep giving this dried-out husk a microphone, let him tell the world his "thoughts"
nobody can do a better job of showing what a floating turd he really is - Zippo, on 08/15/2008, -3/+28Yes, damn those minorities for wanting equality...
*sigh* typical republican closed-mindedness. - jarjarwang, on 08/15/2008, -4/+29I want the right to marry a dude. I'm not into them right now, but I might be in the future.
- gravyplaya, on 08/15/2008, -2/+26Hard to believe people want him as president. I mean people are going to vote for him just so they can say they didnt vote for the black guy.. Thats just stupid. They must like the current state of the nation. 8 years and they still wnat to go backwards.
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -3/+26Religion is such *****...*sigh* Homophobes just use the bible as their excuse for prejudices. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they want to rape every guy they see...
- mnederlanden, on 08/15/2008, -1/+23McCain (who believes abortion is murder) is ok with a pro-abortion candidate; he supports a war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, and Russia, but is not ok with a pro-gay rights candidate.
When did other people's sexuality become a bigger moral issue than killing people? - barcelona10, on 08/14/2008, -6/+28brace for the right-wing backlash.
- SpinningHead, on 08/15/2008, -1/+21I think most homophobes are more afraid of their own secrets.
- Tippx, on 08/15/2008, -1/+21it came from panama but claims to be american?
- bieber, on 08/15/2008, -3/+22Wow. I lean towards the conservative side myself, and I'm finding myself more and more repulsed by McCain. If we look at this from the right-wing perspective, he's basically saying that he's cool with someone who doesn't mind killing babies, but he couldn't risk someone who isn't repulsed by gays. Not that either is going to help the campaign, but I think he's got his priorities a little bit backwards.
Oh, yeah, and how the ***** did we end up with a "conservative" nominee who's cheated on his wife? That's not _supposed_ to be a conservative value :/ - Epistaxis, on 08/15/2008, -1/+19Sorry, I don't think anyone said anything was "natural" or not, as if that mattered. If you want "natural," go live naked in the woods and die of a parasite infection when you finally turn 17. But leave us civilized people to our butt sex.
- nblsavage, on 08/15/2008, -1/+19in the 1950s black people had the same marriage rights as white people: the right to marry someone of the same race.
- b1narymess1ah, on 08/15/2008, -3/+19If he gets elected you guys are so *****. lol. bet he could beat out bush as worst pres. ever.
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -1/+16and owned by China
- illinoise89, on 08/15/2008, -4/+19Anyone who wastes their time worrying about people who are usually happy, employed and fashionably dressed is crazy. Seriously, the gays aren't going to corrupt your children.
- jdsingar, on 08/14/2008, -14/+29I honestly believe that deep down inside, John McCain is a respectable individual with sound views on human rights and equality. Unfortunately, he is having to cater to the views of the right wing in order to increase his chances at winning.
However, the right wing "Christians" that are so insistent on being pro-life and anti-gay have it all wrong. As a Christian, I fundamentally disagree with abortion and homosexuality (which is an entirely different discussion). There's nothing wrong with that, IMO. But when an opinion and view such as this turns into the judgment and insensitivity, it becomes a problem. The inability to pick a running mate that supports the rights of homosexuals is not an ethical stand on the part of the Republican Party, but a blatant disrespect to people and the value of an individual.
In essence, I am just bothered that those claiming to understand what Jesus is all about would be so corrupted with hate. - aftern9ne, on 08/15/2008, -2/+16Are people so stupid as to think he was advocating an anti-gay sentiment?
- k3rfuffl3, on 08/15/2008, -0/+14I think you're thinking of ***** Cheney.
- Murrabbit, on 08/15/2008, -1/+15The biggest threat to this nation right now is love! We must destroy it wherever we can find it!
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -2/+16Personally, I want a presidential candidate who has the balls to say "You know what, this just isn't right." Hell, it's the same damn crowd who believed blacks didn't deserve rights 50 years ago. Seriously, as a country we need to stand up and say "Look, this isn't right."
- jeffkee, on 08/15/2008, -5/+19I think he was being sarcastic guys. Seriously.
- jameskong15, on 08/15/2008, -0/+14Your argument against gay adoption is that it's a deviation from human nature, but human nature is formed over time by the actions of humans. One could claim that basically anything we do these days is a deviation from human nature as humans 4000+ years ago behaved quite different.
Also, are you trying to imply that homosexual couples would somehow create an imbalance in this vast majority of strait people that the human race would face extinction? That's ridiculous if so...
And who said we're going to be teaching kids about two men ***** in school? Seems like a fallacious appeal to fear argument as a whole. As for your anecdotal evidence, well, the anecdotal nature of the claim argues all that needs to be argued. - EtherGnat, on 08/15/2008, -0/+14Only being able to marry people you don't love and aren't attracted to is equality? How would you like it if somebody told you you could only marry somebody of the same sex?
- malex, on 08/15/2008, -1/+15Heh. You must be new to the Republican Party.
- nateabel, on 08/15/2008, -2/+15Redundant comment is redundant. Also, how is he trolling? It isn't true that most republicans hate gays?
- Kafka0622, on 08/15/2008, -0/+13Dude, it's in McCain's freaking auto-biography.
- btschul, on 08/15/2008, -2/+15Since when can the government decide who you stick your dick in? Why is this even an issue?
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -2/+14Pretty basic stuff here people... Anyone that does not comprehend and abide by principles of tolerance towards his/her fellow man/woman should not even be considered for the presidency.

- nblsavage, on 08/15/2008, -2/+13human decency?
- zakatov, on 08/15/2008, -1/+12Yes, because every homosexual couple will keep telling their kids all about gay sex all day every day until they themselves turn gay. That is their agenda. STFU you fundie moron
- wishninja, on 08/15/2008, -1/+12I think your position is plain crazy based on some insane characterization of what you think gay life is about and how raising a family is done. You think that gay parents a having sex in front of their children and that every homosexual home smells like Crisco and butt sex with anal probes hanging from the ceiling.
You are wrong as a parent I make it a point not to have sex with my partner in front of my children. I also try not to leave any evidence of sex. I am also pretty sure homosexual parents agree.
Just curious do you think children with homosexual parents should be removed into state custody then?
Should it be illegal to get a lesbian pregnant or for a homosexual man to get a woman pregnant? - Zarokima, on 08/15/2008, -1/+12It has for quite a while. Eisenhower was the last Republican president with any integrity, and the party as a whole has gone to ***** since Reagan.
