McCain Says Americans ‘Don’t Want Regulation'

thinkprogress.org — In an interview on Tuesday with WCAU in Philadelphia, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) backed away from his Sept. 16 claim that he believes in “excess government regulation,” saying that Americans actually want deregulation.

You are always for deregulation, until you suddenly believe in excess government regulation, however, now you say Americans don't want regulation, but today tried to weasel out of the debate to go to DC (where you have not been in months) so that you can properly regulate the financial services sector? What is it?
