- PaulMorel, on 08/21/2008, -0/+9As if being rich and unhappy is somehow equivalent to being lower middle class, with no health coverage, struggling to feed your family.
What an arrogant ass.
Living in the Appalachians, it's easy to see the hardships that this economic downturn has caused for many families that used to be normal middle-class families. It's disgusting that our national leaders are so out of touch that they can publicly say things like this without being crucified for it. - inactive, on 08/21/2008, -1/+10idiot...any man knows how many houses they own
- MookiBlaylock, on 08/21/2008, -2/+9When he said many people that are rich are unhappy, I was like what does that have to do with anything man, just read your teleprompter.
- insticate, on 08/21/2008, -0/+5If you're a billionaire with health problems, you're not lucky, you're unfortunate, but while being unfortunate, you don't have to worry about paying bills, you don't have to run errands, food shop, clean, prepare meals, perform yard work, drive to your kids to school or sporting events, even dress yourself for that matter... In other words, YOU'RE STILL RICH.
- ChessPieceFace, on 08/21/2008, -0/+4Oh leave the old guy alone. He's 71 years old, he's bound to forget things here and there. Besides he probably didn't get his afternoon nap in.
- oo7evan, on 08/21/2008, -0/+4Here's a guy I can identify with. I can't tell you how many times I lose count of how many houses I have. And don't even get me started on my Lear Jets.
- vatosplace, on 08/21/2008, -1/+5I would love to see a 'life styles of the rich and famous' piece touring all McCains mansions.
- ChessPieceFace, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2Well, it should have been a very easy question for him to answer then. The fact that he has to resort to "’I'll have my staff get to you," as an answer just shows everyone, again, how much grampa's cognitive abilities have deteriorated. Poor guy.
- mrtastycakes, on 08/21/2008, -1/+2I'm sure he knows exactly how many houses he has. Clearly saying "10" would have stronger repercussions than saying "I don't know" and having it come out later and being ignored by the media. But should we really be surprised? To run for office in America, you need to be incredibly wealthy. Also, I bet some of those houses are investment properties or tax shelters and not for personal use, which is very common among people who have the money. The real issue is McCain's evasiveness. So much for "straight talk."
- jdc326, on 08/23/2008, -0/+0You PEOPLE will all be disapointed when Nov comes....McCain will win, its already been decided, why do you think the polls are so close, so when the poll machine switch the votes you wont think its out of the ordinary..
This is our new world order so get used to it.
Be a winner join our side, vote for McCain. - inactive, on 08/22/2008, -2/+1Actually John McCain owns NONE of the "houses", and technically the "McCains" own NO houses they own 1 ranch and use 2 condos, with 4 other condos owned for use by immediate family.
buried as another NObama "I'm taking the high road" smear campaign
