- bossm4n, on 09/18/2008, -2/+6Anyone that has ever fished or been diving in the Gulf or has actually been on an oil rig/platform in the Gulf knows that fish DO congregate around them. It's no different than intentionally sinking old ships offshore to form artificial reefs.
- treehugger87, on 09/18/2008, -3/+5That was the first time I had heard the China drilling off of Cuba one. That's a good one. For clarification, this starts with Dick Cheney (where else):
"Cheney: As for other locations, George Will pointed out in his column the other day that oil is being drilled right now 60 miles off the coast of Florida. But we're not doing it, the Chinese are, in cooperation with the Cuban government. Even the communists have figured out that a good answer to high prices is more supply."
The truth is that Cuba has leased "exploration blocks" to Cuba but there is not any actual drilling going on.

I suggest everyone get on factchecks.org email list......I'm sure there's lots more to come as he gets more desperate. Pretty soon he's going to have to stop saying "my friends" because he won't have any left.
- Bukowsky, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1I've gone diving out in the Gulf, we stopped off at an oil platform, and there were a bunch of fish there.
- AnitraWeb, on 09/19/2008, -1/+2Your guy lied. Blow as much smoke as you want to cover it; your man LIED.
- AmericanElitist, on 09/18/2008, -4/+3FTA: McCain: "And by the way, on that oil rig — and I’m sure you’ve probably heard this story — you look down, and there’s fish everywhere! There’s fish everywhere! Yeah, the fish love to be around those rigs. So not only can it be helpful for energy, it can be helpful for some pretty good meals as well."
what a frickin moron
"As if" - sultanknish, on 09/18/2008, -5/+2Why do we need offshore oil drilling?
It's not like we're dependent on foreign oil or suffering from high oil prices or anything. Let's do it Obama's way and go for biofuels, because food prices still haven't recovered from the last time he Barry pulled that one.
