- jonraymond, on 09/06/2008, -10/+157McCain is trying to stop the investigation through GOP Congressman John Coghill who says the Palin investigation "appears to be lacking in fairness, neutrality and due process."
I didn't know investigations had to have due process or what exactly that might be. Isn't due process something guaranteed to someone already under arrest? Republicans answering to McCain seem to be rewriting the constitution here to his personal advantage. This reeks of totalitarianism. - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -7/+123Who needs to vet a potential vp when you can cover up and bury everything.
- Siraris, on 09/06/2008, -6/+93This is utterly inappropriate behavior that wreaks of George Bush/Karl Rove's stench from a mile away. How can anyone question the legitimacy of a BI-PARTISAN investigation? On top of that, Palin herself has said that she supported and ASKED for the investigation until she was picked to be VP.
This needs to be kept in the spotlight so that the McCain campaign cannot succeed in burying the investigation. - toetagger, on 09/06/2008, -6/+69The cover-up will always be worse than trying to get a trooper fired. hahahahahahaha!
- cogentspirit, on 09/06/2008, -4/+59I am astonished and amazed. Cronyism and corruption in our new found savior? This is just too early for it to be apparent that she is a corrupt, earmark loving, power abusing Republican. I mean this kind of thing isn't supposed to come out until her fifth or sixth year as a republican stooge...
It therefore can't be true. It must actually be one of those liberal conspiracies I've been hearing about so often. You know the one that was masterminded by the liberals to lead us into a boondoggle of a war and years of economic downturn....I mean that is the only explanation for all of this. It's the liberal's fault. The liberals, that good god fearing republicans, like Mitt Romney, promised to save us from the other night. I mean, he told me personally that Washington has been too liberal and that's why their republican control has been such an utter disaster. He can't be lying can he? - duckley, on 09/06/2008, -7/+59Ah, REPUBLICANS.
Standard Operating Procedure? --> SUPPRESS THE TRUTH. - cheesegypsy, on 09/06/2008, -6/+55If folks didn't think McCain was more of the same before this, then I'm not sure what would convince them besides Jesus coming in with the Screen of all Knowledge and showing them in action. No, that probably wouldn't work either. Jesus would have to implant the memory. No, it's simply hopeless. People will believe what they want to believe.
- zephyear, on 09/06/2008, -5/+53there's no way she's innocent if they're trying to stonewall it this hard
- grinsy, on 09/06/2008, -6/+52So let me get this straight, because it didn't take French any longer to figure out she was guilty than the rest of the country, the investigation isn't fair and therefore, according to Coghill, she must be innocent.
While French should certainly keep his mouth shut until the investigation results are published, it still seems to lead to the conclusion that Caribou Barbie can't really defend against the charges on merit so she's looking for any out she can find. - AtHomeBoy2000, on 09/06/2008, -2/+46"appears to be lacking in fairness, neutrality and due process."
and by that he means that the panel isnt all republicans and might actually ask tough questions and be willing to rule against them. - elwior, on 09/06/2008, -3/+42 I believe the Genie is already out of the bottle on this one. They can try to force it back in, but this is not Tien An Minh Square of 1989, where the Regime literally crushed the Democracy movement, smashed up the "Goddess of Liberty," and forbade anyone from speaking of it again.
To quote the worst president in U.S. History (Bush Jr,), "You can run, but you can't hide!" - voxlisa999, on 09/06/2008, -4/+39My dear Americans: Rove & the Republican Hit Squad will quash this and the truth will never come out. People are too afraid to testify now. No doubt they are being pressured, threatened and paid off to keep quiet. That's the way it works. It's probably not too hard either. The folks who had evidence against her are probably being promised White House gigs and special treatment if she gets in. So it's in their own best interest to just shut up and take the 5th. Trust me. Nothing will come out of this.
I sincerely hope I am dead wrong and that someone will not succumb to the HIt Squad and do the right thing. But these Rove folks are ruthless. They will threaten to ruin you and destroy you. - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -4/+36Amazing. The GOP would have devoted an entire day to this had it been a Biden or Obama scandal.
- JekJob, on 09/06/2008, -3/+34You're exactly right. Palin said she would only agree to be deposed if she were allowed to appoint her own investigators. And they want to keep it fair and neutral? Give me a break.
- netgui68, on 09/06/2008, -4/+35I thought we were a country of laws and justice, I guess it does not apply to the utter corrupt and above the law GOP. I am sick and tired of all of their cover ups and insistance that the law does not apply to them. They are quick to prosecute Democrats and show contempt of law when it comes to themselves. I say justice applies to all regardless of party. The GOP of late has become equivalent to political mobsters and they must be removed and we must never allow any group to assert themselves above the law again...regardless of party or idealology.
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -5/+35MORE. OF. THE. SAME.
- BabushkaBlue, on 09/06/2008, -4/+28Has anyone noticed that Sarah Palin is a liar?
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -4/+25If anyone has watched the Daily Show or Colbert Report where they show old Fox News footage of Sarah Palin, she is a very mean spirited person. She's divisive and condescending. I really don't think the republicans voters really know what they signed up for. And that's why all these news stories of corruption and short-comings in her short political career.
Why is she running? Why did she accept the nomination? I mean, I watched the speeches and other than a pit-bull with lipstick on... I really don't think she was the best choice other than for blatant Pandering. Look that word up and there is no way you can disagree with that. lol. - charm803, on 09/06/2008, -2/+22Scary to imagine if he got to the White House, what he would cover up.
Bush has been bad enough for 8 years.
Hard to imagine what in the world they're trying to hide with Palin. - johnnr2, on 09/06/2008, -5/+24More of McSame corruption.
- DD2CC2U, on 09/06/2008, -5/+24Corruption!
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -5/+24Ok, heres the quick of it.
John's wife, Carol, who was loyal to John all those months he was held in captivity, was in a bad car accident (went through the windshield). John said because of the accident, Carol was now two inches shorter and that she had gained a lot of weight. Not too long after this John met Cindy Hensley at a party in Hawaii. Cindy was an Heiress to the Anheiser-Bush alcohol fortune. There was an age difference. When Cindy was born, John was old enough to drink. So Cindy became John's mistress. After about a year of infidelity John McCain divorced crippled Carol and married Cindy.
Cindy's father was wealthy and this helped finance John's entry into politics in 1982. Cindy kept the books while John got caught up in the Charles Keating scandal. When the Gov't investigated Keating, John tried to stop the investigations with his political power. Cindy McCain conveniently lost records on the books which would have indited John.
Around 1989 Cindy McCain began a 3 year addiction to the prescription opiates Vicadone and Percocet. During the first year of Cindy's addiction, her children were ages five, three, and one.
She was also caught stealing the same drugs from the inventory of a charity she set up. Of course this medication was intended for ill children.
After keeping a somewhat low profile for a few years, Cindy McCain is now on the board of directors of several similar charities as well as the head chair for Anheiser-Bush.

Listen Folks, these people are corporate lobbyist whore shrills. They have no understanding of real family values. Which is why they should never be allowed anywhere near the seat of Gov't.
These psychopaths belong in the Looney bin! - Mattwdj, on 09/06/2008, -5/+21Dam Newsweek is catching on, looks like the MSM is catching up.
- jasonspurlock, on 09/06/2008, -4/+20The Track Palin story is getting covered up, too. I've already come across several scrubbed sites this morning, including several Wordpress blogs that have been removed b/c of TOS violations. I bet the McCain team is spending hundreds of thousands just to have his staff flag Internet sites.
Here's a link to the Track Palin vandalism scandal:

Digg it. - panicbombs, on 09/06/2008, -4/+20No American hating pastors? Did you not read about her Pastor saying all Kerry voters should go to hell in 04 and blame all jews for 9/11? Oh, Palin was actually AT both of these sermons.

Palin has ties to an Alaskan separatist group with her husband belonging to the party for over 10 years and Sarah just spoke at their convention as Governor. This parties main platform is to succeed from the Union. Does it get any more "unamerican" that that?
They are hiding her from the media and the American citizens with less than 60 days to this important election. This behavior is insulting to the entire electorate.
. If Democrats acted this way, the GOP would be going off about it, rightfully so too. - kingofinternet, on 09/06/2008, -7/+22if they have nothing to hide, they should let the investigation happen.
do you smell something fishy or did palin's water break again? - kickcows, on 09/06/2008, -1/+15I just like the fact that this is from NEWSWEEK.
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -6/+20Ol3O : "Sounds to me like the Dopey Democrats have morphed into the Desperate Dopey Democrats.....I wonder why?"
I don't really think so, desperate is really not a good word to use as of todays polls, Obama is sitting at 238 projected electoral votes with 55 more leaning his way and McCain is projected to receive 174 electoral votes with 32 more leaning his way...Palin is not going to help GOP's cause over the next 2 months, especially since they clearly cant allow her anywhere near a microphone...They did this to themselves, as they did the past 8 years in power.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama ... - totorototoro, on 09/06/2008, -0/+14Not sure why the Republicans are so worried about this. If she's innocent, it clears up that ethics cloud hanging over her right now, before the election. They should be first in line pushing for this distraction story to be resolved, and to get over and done with now...that is, of course, if she's innocent of any wrongdoing in the case.
- pintomp3, on 09/06/2008, -2/+15actually, much worse.
- bradhart2, on 09/06/2008, -0/+13"Republicans answering to McCain seem to be rewriting the constitution here to his personal advantage. This reeks of totalitarianism."
We have been getting it for eight years. I bet a McCain oath of office would come with a signing statement that says "I reserve the right to ignore the constitution and the Supreme Court." - Bith8654, on 09/06/2008, -0/+13I've said it before and I'll say it again, PLEASE try and come up with a better defense than "but...but the other guys do it too!" And please try and present a similar case in which the Democrats tried to ***** with an investigation.
- dondara, on 09/06/2008, -2/+14"pit-bull with lipstick on ..."
I own a pitbull and I am very offended with that comparison. My dog would never lie, commit voter fraud or disgrace our nation. She is more like a badger with lipstick.
And of course she's a condescending bitch, she was a beauty contestant after all. - JLSN, on 09/06/2008, -5/+17Everybody knows she is under attack by republicans, and we know she abused her power. It is not a partisan attack. The cover up is going to be worse for Caribou Barbie than the truth. Don't think so, ask Bill Clinton.
- goodbick, on 09/06/2008, -1/+12Based on the fact that Mccain received 1 mill in donations and Obama got 10, I'd wager that a decent number of the RNC's viewers were democrats.
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -0/+11Your rant is just some more posturing by an egotistical right-wing twit who thinks he's got it all figured out, but fails to see the own limits of his average intellect.
Someone who get their news and opinions from a whacked out drug addict on the radio, or a dildo using pervert and his screeching she-male cohort on FOX.
But keep telling yourself your own version of history, Corky. Because why would you want the truth? You can't handle the truth. Obviously.
Posters all over the world read the posts of the moronic, and tragically pathetic Repub damage control posting teams and have a global, collective chuckle at the insanity and madness of the "posters for a Republican America" keyboard brigade.
Yes, you are truly special people, cons. You do not possess patriotism, a love of America, or any of those high-minded ideals as you would like to believe. You possess the qualities that allowed bush to hijack your free will to do his bidding. You were used, and he did it by playing to the personal shortcomings that most people try to hide. Like Samuel L. Jackson's character at the end of the movie Unbreakable, you become aware, only after the fact, of the disgraceful role that you were destined to play. You will come to realize that you are history's bad guy. Like the McCarthyites or the brownshirts, you will serve both as a symbol of shame and a warning to future generations. You truly are special people.
Well, at least your entertaining. - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -1/+12I know. People are ALWAYS finding out how I abused my office to attack a family member, ***** my husband's business partner and then faked a pregnancy. It's really annoying.
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -1/+12Sorry, we were too distracted by her stupidity.
- zephyear, on 09/06/2008, -1/+11they are
the democrat in charge moved up the date 2 weeks earlier
it was originally scheduled tobe oct 30 - AmazingSteve, on 09/06/2008, -0/+10You couldn't possibly be more right. I don't know about anyone else, but if I was accused of something that I was innocent of, I'd be getting the matter taken care of a soon as possible if not sooner. Only the guilty run and hide. Let it simmer, the longer it goes on, the more coverage it'll get. In fact every time McSame's name comes up in the media it'll probably be followed by the words... "and his scandal plagued VP nominee." Want to bet she starts to blame "the old boys club in Washington" inside of a week?
- ironhide, on 09/06/2008, -0/+10Right luke, lets just ignore the fact that the actual videos are on the pages in question. Loser.
- kingUssop, on 09/06/2008, -2/+11Any Repubs in here complaining about how McCain and Palin aren't letting the rule of law do it's thing? No! I'm shocked!
- phishman3579, on 09/06/2008, -0/+9French today acknowledged that some of his public comments about the ongoing probe may have been out of bounds. "I said some things I shouldn't have said," he told NEWSWEEK.

Please digg - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -1/+9►Maybe you're just stretching every one of those answers in order to justify the ridiculous choice of Sarah Palin as the next losing VP. America Hating? What kind of coke have you been piping up your nose? I'm guessing whoever sold you it skimmed some off the top and cut it back bad and you are ***** in the head right now.
►Maybe the Republicans are just stealing the lines off of Democrats in order to try and keep of of their disoriented voters that realize the last 8 years haven't improved much at all. In fact, I'm not sure what CHANGE you are talking about. Everyone knows that McCain essentially sold his soul for this nomination and now that he's gone farther to the right of himself for a VP pick, I'm sure they have all the bible thumpers locked up more than they already did.
►Maybe you've noticed that the highest educated states seem to support Obama, while the states that still live in the 1950's.. don't. - HellDonut, on 09/06/2008, -3/+11McCain: Stalin justice.
- humppy, on 09/06/2008, -0/+8I have never heard of Sarah Palin but I did hear what she had to say.
She spewed the same rhetoric that has grappled Washington for the last 7+ years, and frankly I'm sick and tired of hearing that "CRAP".
All McBush wants to do is wave the flag for King George for four more years and she {Mrs. Palin} wants to lean the Far Right even farther.
So if McBush was trying to attract disenchanted Hillary voters, I believe he missed his mark. - ErickStevenson, on 09/06/2008, -0/+8Yes It is offending to pitbulls! "Pitbull with lipstick on" is offending because pitbulls are naturally very loyal, and intelligent.
- ErickStevenson, on 09/06/2008, -0/+8Wow really??? You convinced me, I'm going to forget all the corruption that the Republicans are doing and the ***** they put our economy in all because..... Obama has a muslim sounding name.... sorry but if anyone is that retarded, they should not be allowed to vote.
