- 3tcp, on 08/12/2008, -21/+90This matters because I decide who I vote for by how fast a candidate can say 'he sells seashells by the sea shore' 3 times.
- orangefly, on 08/13/2008, -3/+31i always thought that was a terrible location to sell seashells....
- superboredom, on 04/02/2009, -16/+42Oh the horrors! Seriously, how does crap like this make the front page. Get a life people.
- 9bpm9, on 08/13/2008, -6/+27Who actually ***** CARES about this bullcrap?
- somethinspecial, on 08/13/2008, -12/+32Bush can barely speak the English language at times, so McCain is definitely an upgrade however you look at it.
- iChaz, on 08/13/2008, -5/+23I bet paris hilton would only pronounce it wrong once or twice..
- chislev, on 08/13/2008, -14/+32McCain scratches his nose! The world ends! News at 11pm.
Is this the best the McCain haters can come up with? Meh. Find something substantive. Dugg down for trivial content. - skipthefrog, on 08/12/2008, -5/+22At least Dan Quayle wasn't trying to spell his name.
- hoopy22, on 08/13/2008, -15/+31OMG!!!!! Not mis-pronunciation too????? That settles it, I'm not voting for McCain.
Oh yeah,thinkprogress.org,,,,, you suck. In fact, this is so lame, you suck at sucking. Can you try sucking less.
Suck. - Shoegaze99, on 08/13/2008, -17/+32This is what makes the front page now? Really?
I mean, come on ... really? - chrissku, on 08/13/2008, -38/+52McCain is a senile old retard.
- harrisbradley, on 08/13/2008, -11/+25the Georgian president mispronounces his own name
- TheShad0w, on 08/13/2008, -15/+28You know for someone who claims to have more experience in foreign affairs/politics he seems to always stick his foot in his mouth.
- evodevo1, on 08/13/2008, -13/+25Bury this ***** down
- XeroRestraint, on 08/13/2008, -11/+23This is news? Lame.
- edrift101, on 08/13/2008, -4/+14And that's just sad...
- kendetroit, on 08/13/2008, -5/+15I used to be a fan of ThinkProgress, now they are just as bad as FoxNews. Lame, I just deleted TP's RSS feed from my reader. If people are so small minded that they jump on a mispronunciation band wagon then I feel sorry for them.
- MortalynFlux, on 08/13/2008, -4/+14I'm not a McCain fan, but this is not newsworthy.
- bentman78, on 08/13/2008, -9/+19Buried as lame. Obama is a gaffe machine....(57 states anyone?). No one cares about that.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -12/+21McCain remembers like it was yesterday, when Georgia first became a colony, and later when Georgia became a US state.
- jbundy, on 08/13/2008, -2/+10Now, what if Senator Obama had mispronounced it? ***** it, I'll just go watch BarackRoll again.
- pintomp3, on 08/13/2008, -3/+10at least he can pronounce the name of czechoslovakia's president
- bigj480, on 08/13/2008, -0/+7 The fact that this made it to the front page is pathetic. Look, I dislike McCain as much as the next guy, but this is not news, it's barely even note worthy. Hey, Obama said there were 57 states, which is worse! Who gives a *****? What will they do for our county and our people?
You partisan hacks have ruined my America, GTFO! Propaganda, spin and buzzwords; some are falling for them hook, line and sinker. Both "sides" lie, both sell you out for more power, neither deserves your vote. Both "sides" preach hatred of people who disagree with their dogma, your fellow countrymen and women who deserve respect regardless of differences. Divide and conquer, it seems to be working well for them. - krahzee, on 08/13/2008, -4/+11Think Buried.
Pointless propaganda. - pintomp3, on 08/13/2008, -6/+11if that's the name of a president in a war zone, why not? we don't need president. Hesellseashells Bytheseashore to go to war with Peterpiperpickeda Peckofpickledpeppers just because we decided to elect president. Imanolddumbass Fifthfromthebottom.
- Sfenton, on 08/13/2008, -1/+6This is a Thinkprogressive article, good luck trying to make Liberals smell their own *****.
- johndavidjack, on 08/13/2008, -1/+6Maybe McCain should get a teleprompter with the pronunciation on it, so he can speak eloquently.
"I, am the Son of God, a light will shine down from the heavens to tell you to vote for Barak Obama. I can feed the poor, with 2 loaves of bread, and a few pieces of fish, oh and all of your tax dollars."
Buried as lame, there are better things to discuss between the candidates then prounciation of foreign names... - FamousAnus, on 08/13/2008, -3/+8Hey! No injecting logic into the irrational hatefest!
That's just rude... - ShellShock11, on 08/13/2008, -1/+6Because age matters...
- seldon452, on 08/13/2008, -3/+7I think of all the reasons NOT to vote for McCain, this is one of the more minor ones.
- OfNumbers, on 08/13/2008, -9/+13I'm amazed he didn't call Mikheil a Czechnian.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -5/+9Hey but Barack had plenty of time to learn it while he waited on opinion polls to find out what he thinks about the situation.
- schapman43, on 08/13/2008, -4/+8Barack is magical, McCain sucks. We got it! Anything else to share?
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5I think it's more the context in which you observe his race. If, for instance, you say, "I think it's wonderful that we finally have a black man running for President," that wouldn't be considered racist. However, if you say, "I think it's sickening that there's a black man running for President," you give off a slightly different vibe. Can you notice the difference?
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -4/+8Cute. I hope you remember that nations can also be referred to as states.
- Cuchanu, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5@dan222555
Experience doesn't make you better at something. At the very least his knowledge of the world is rightfully being questioned.
I mean part of being a foreign policy expert is knowing what you are talking about, such as the names of people you are talking about. As well as borders (oops), and country's names, etc.
Especially if you are running for president and make the claim that you are an 'expert.' - Cuchanu, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5It wasn't a mispronunciation, it was very obvious he didn't know what the guys name was (who he apparently is 'friends' with), since he was reading it and then didn't even get close.
- schapman43, on 08/13/2008, -0/+4Sorry, I didn't realize it was such a sensative issue. I have three kids who are beginning elementary school. At this critical point in their lives we don't need a president mispronouncing some dudes name on television. I'd much rather the president teach our children about oral sex.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5Because being black doesn't impair his ability to run the country, or at list live through his first term.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -3/+7As of now, 465 idiots who dugg it up.
- sayssimon, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5i can't even say his name. let alone spell it
- whittmadden, on 08/13/2008, -1/+5How exactly is this news, and worthy of anyone reading?
- Cuchanu, on 08/13/2008, -3/+6The Best? Nobody claimed this was the best. It's just yet another in a long lines of things that prove McCain is either Senile or doesn't know half of what he claims. I say a combo of the two.
- sjm20k, on 08/13/2008, -2/+5I'm fairly certain Bush is responsible for more American deaths and bombs-exploded than Obama, yet you lick his boots.
- Cuchanu, on 08/13/2008, -1/+4Sure if they didn't actually know there were 50, but we both know that he does; he made a one time mistake. But he hasn't been consistently saying there are 57 states like McCain has consistently 'mispronounced' this guys name, among other things.
- Shoegaze99, on 08/13/2008, -1/+4I, too, am outraged about McCain's mispronunciation and consider it an important issue this election. As you can see, far too many tighty righties are running scared from this very important issue.
- kigcoopa84, on 08/13/2008, -2/+5I bet he can write cohearant sentences. "Plenty of people trying to score McCain points. "
- dupems, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3You Obamabots will stretch just about any nonstory to try to make it relevant. In this case, it's pretty ***** laughable that you think this "incident" is worthy of mentioning, let alone deciding a president over.
Please get over yourself, and if you can't do that kill yourself. - schapman43, on 08/13/2008, -3/+6You Dumbass. You're going to base your vote off 1 article? I'd call you a retart but I wouldn't want to insult the retards.
- omegared, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3i was always wondering why the Republicans use the color red, well i now i know.
Comrade McCain in 2008! -
