- MadKennyP, on 09/02/2008, -22/+128"Vice President of the United States" is to Palin's "executive experience"
as
"CEO of Walmart" is to "Night Manager at 7-11" - angusm, on 09/03/2008, -11/+96I'm curious. If Sarah Palin was the best they could come up with, what was it that disqualified every single other possible candidate? This is a woman who's under investigation for possible abuse of authority, has an inconveniently-pregnant unmarried teenage daughter, and laughably little political experience. Her major qualification seems to be that she loves Jesus a lot. So you have to ask: how seriously compromised does everyone else in the Republican Party have to be before Caribou Barbie looks like the best option?
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -17/+79Who cares?
She's Ahmadinejad in a dress. At this point any candidate is better than half-dead McCain and his fanatic fundie sidekick. - Br3ach, on 09/02/2008, -19/+80Obama - Harvard grad who has been a US Senator for about the last 4 years, dealing with national issues
Palin - Graduated with nothing degree in Science from a nowhere college, has been Mayor of a state that has an entire population smaller than the bigger US cities for less time than Obama has been a Senator.
Mayors and Senators have entirely, different job descriptions.
Who has more experience again? - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -10/+67McCain didn't lie. He just doesn't know. America doesn't need another out of touch president.
- hamobu, on 09/03/2008, -5/+43I have problem with Obama's positions, and tactics, but this whole "Obama has no experience" argument is obviously not working. It is obvious to everyone that Obama is extremely intelligent, and he sounds smarter than pretty much all his competitors. And not only did Obama finish Harvard law school, but he was a senior lecturer at Chicago law school. That alone, IMHO, makes him more qualified than most politicians in Washington.
McCain, on the other hand, has seriously cast the doubt on his mental capacities by series of slips and misstatements over the life of his campaign. His VP - while a smart and determined lady - is no university law professor, and obviously not as experienced as Obama. By pursuing "Obama is not smart enough" argument, McCain campaign is only hurting itself.
Honestly, is there anyone here who does not think that Obama is extremely capable, intelligent and successful person? - pintomp3, on 09/03/2008, -5/+37b b but she lived close to russia! i live close to the river, which means i am aquaman!
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -23/+53Face it neocons!
Obama/Biden leaves McFalin in the dust!
No McFalin In 08 !
No Way ,No How! - Pimpalicious316, on 09/03/2008, -2/+28Caribou Barbie; I'm so stealing that one.

Palin has no such experience or credentials. - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -4/+26What kills me is what her degree was in... journalism.
- clamhead, on 09/03/2008, -1/+23She also has more executive experience than McCain
- davewashere, on 09/03/2008, -3/+24You forgot President of Harvard Law Review. It's probably the most coveted position for law students in the United States, and it has to be earned. So while Obama was cream of the crop of the best law students in America, Sarah Palin went to school to learn how to be a pretty sideline reporter at college basketball games.
- rawg, on 09/03/2008, -0/+19By your argument she has more experience than Senator McCain and so does the mayor of any city in America.
- piratearggghhh, on 09/03/2008, -3/+22I see the GOP is out in full force on digg. It's nice to see the people who voted for W the last 2 times around and are STILL planning to vote for McCain come out and be proud. It takes courage to make the same mistake twice and still want to do it a 3rd time. It's like being the owner of a business and promoting an employee that has bankrupted your company then hiring his friend after he leaves.
- nopRT, on 09/03/2008, -5/+22Obama was elected despite his supposed inexperience. Palin was appointed by John McCain because of her supposed abundance of experience. The results of the democratic election are not in dispute. McCain's judgment on the other hand, is in question.
- angusm, on 09/03/2008, -3/+19Until McCain stops telling lies.
Gonna be a long day. - theaceoffire, on 09/03/2008, -1/+16If McCain *had* picked someone like Obama, I would be shocked and happily surprised. As it stands, he picked eye candy in an attempt to win Hillary Voters.
He is using women to further his goals... *sigh* - wendelgee2, on 09/03/2008, -0/+15She doesn't have a science degree. She has a BA in Communication with a minor in polisci.
- YEEK, on 09/03/2008, -1/+16I love how Palin's 18.5 month governorship is framed by the repubs as 2 years. It's only a year and a half. Quit trying to pad her resume.
- pintomp3, on 09/03/2008, -5/+20bush was governor of a state too. he worked out great.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -1/+16That aren't commanded by the Governor of Alaska because those troops are actually under Federal control. Go read...
- rodon, on 09/03/2008, -3/+17This is an Associated Press article, not some DailyKOS or HuffingtonPost blogspam. It's silly for people to dismiss it as such.
- diggapleeeze, on 09/03/2008, -1/+15So executorzz, her stints as mayor of a town with less than 9,000 and Govenor of a state with about 600k for 18 months completely outshines all of Obama's accomplishments? Seriously?
- acraft, on 09/03/2008, -2/+15Obama:
Harvard Law Graduate
Professor of Constitutional Law at University of Chicago
Illinois State Senator: 1997-2004
US Senator: 2004-2008
Palin has no such experience or credentials. - wendelgee2, on 09/03/2008, -2/+15Communication, technically.
"Is phony degree. Lubchenko learn nothing!!" - amoro99, on 09/03/2008, -4/+17FTA: "Challenged about his vice presidential choice, McCain said as governor of Alaska for the last two years, Palin "has had enormous responsibilities, none of which Senator Obama had." Later, McCain elaborated that "as a governor, she has had executive experience. She didn't sit in the state legislature."
I don't understand why voting in the United States Senate (let alone authoring legislation) doesn't count as an enormous responsibility. A responsibility identical to McCain's own. - haydesigner, on 09/03/2008, -1/+14@seraph582: "You lefties are voting in Bush Jr and Cheney Jr! Those guys are so far up corporate ass"
You really are an idiot.
*The* founding plank of Obama's decision to run was to *not* accept special interest money, so he *won't* be beholden to them if/when he is president. - nick1971, on 09/03/2008, -0/+13I want the America back that I admired.
I want the moral leader which the world looked up to.
I want the country which was the leader of the free world.
I want the country which was on the forefront of new technologies.
Is it really too much to ask the American people to vote for substance?
Is it really too much to ask the American people to vote for the common good?
Is it really too much to ask the American people to vote not only for the best for them selves but for humanity as a whole? - rawg, on 09/03/2008, -1/+13Executive experience is a red herring. By Republican definitions, every mayor in the country has more "executive experience" than Senator McCain.
Let's ask the important questions. What's Governor Palin's position on Israel and Palestine's role in Mideast peace? What's Governor Palin's plan for the health care system? What's Governor Palin's strategy for dealing with the housing crisis? Does Governor Palin want to allow Georgia into NATO?
The reality is that her experience as Mayor and Governor in Alaska give her no context on these national and global issues. We know where all the other candidates in the election stand but all we know about Palin is that she shoots guns, has a pregnant daughter and wants us all to follow her religious beliefs. - SeekerDarksteel, on 09/03/2008, -8/+20And when you take into account the city she became mayor of and her duties there, I'd take the community organizer over the mayor any day of the week.
- pilot3033, on 09/03/2008, -3/+15and by "mayor" you mean "ceremonial figure head."
While Palin was pretending she meant something, Obama was working his ass off helping people.
Palin wouldn't last 5 seconds as a community organizer in Chicago, let alone the Mayor of Chicago (or even a state senator), what could possibly make anyone think she's qualified to be vice president?! - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -4/+16Please post any executive decision that you can find that Palin has made.
Please show me one bit of reform that she has helped pass.
Please show me one bit of change Palin has administered.
So far, there's a lot of talk of her not doing much of anything, except abuse power and forget to teach her kid that if she's gonna have sex to use a condom.
Until you come up with something, i'll be here waiting. - Kohaxx, on 09/03/2008, -3/+15After watching his biography on CNN I actually felt sorry for him, he seems like a really simple guy who has no business making country altering decisions that's being led around by his highly emotional mental state and the goons of the Republican party. He's Bush 2.0 in every way.
Even his "Maverick" title for opposing Bush in 2000-2002 seemed more based on his rage at Bush for slandering his family and making up the lies about his Sri Lankan adopted daughter than actual policy disputes. - wendelgee2, on 09/03/2008, -2/+13No, he was working at a law firm and lecturing at U. of Chicago.
Did you RTFA? - charm803, on 09/03/2008, -0/+11I stood next to B Real once.
I'm a famous Latin Rapper now. - amoro99, on 09/03/2008, -1/+12"Obama has zero executive experience."
Then neither does Sen McCain. Epic Fail. - Amazetbm, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1024-7 missile watch is handled by NORAD under the command of the Pentagon.

- steakneggs, on 09/03/2008, -1/+10The point you make is laughable.
Cons brought up the argument about comparing Palin to Obama from day one.
And now when the Dems respond, you criticize them for talking about such a topic - a topic which you argue for and brought up to begin.
How does asking a question, and then criticizing someone for responding to a topic you asked, make any sense?
Then again, look who I am talking to.. - SexyFarts, on 09/03/2008, -1/+9She actually likes her country enough that when Governor of Alaska she was part of a party trying to seperate Alaska and be independent from the United States? Are you really this stupid or are you just one of her retarded kids?
- ironhide, on 09/03/2008, -1/+9Why do you care? Someone forcing you to read them?
- pintomp3, on 09/03/2008, -4/+12he's got a lot of mccain action center points. soon he will earn his own cone of silence.
- diggapleeeze, on 09/03/2008, -1/+9He has, and won his parties nomination. She was selected.
- devophl, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8I've heard the following line 4 times in the last 24 hours.... Palin is more qualified to be president than Obama since she was being an executive of a state while Obama has spent the better part of his time in Senate running for president.
Also, I keep hearing that Obama is the most liberal nominee ever for President.
It sounds like "liberal" and "unqualified" will be the labels the Republicans paste all over the airwaves this fall. - mav16, on 09/03/2008, -2/+10As a registered Republican, I am embarrassed by recent comments made by McCain and his team trying to desperately defend his VP choice. There is no way that being a Mayor of some no-name town and Governor of an insignificant state qualifies her to be our next VP. And there is certainly no way that it makes her more experienced or qualified than Obama.
- wendelgee2, on 09/03/2008, -1/+9Why is executive experience of a tiny state more important than understanding how to operate the levers of power at the Federal level?
- SexyFarts, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8The question isn't if anyone here does not think that Obama is extremely capable, intelligent and successful person. The question here is whether anyone here is still very much afraid of letting a black man run the highest office in the nation regardless of capablility, intelligence and/or success.
Although you won't get a straight answer other than "he's just too inexperienced", what you should be asking is, "are you racist"? - JenniferInMO, on 09/03/2008, -8/+16It's a lie to misstate what Obama said. You are becoming tiresomely inaccurate.
