- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -4/+56McBush should write for The Onion.
- Lynx55, on 08/28/2008, -3/+52The economy is great, there are no uninsured people, and Iraq is peaceful! WOW...
All you can do at this point is laugh......LOLOL! - pell, on 08/28/2008, -5/+47Next time I read about a suicide bombing I will be utterly shocked!
- inactive, on 08/29/2008, -6/+43Unfortunately due to Alzheimer's, McCain's "now" is 1958.
- inactive, on 08/29/2008, -7/+37McInsane is slipping into a WORLD of DELUSIONS
"A free and democratic Iraq!"
"Bush is a moral christian man!"
"Warmongering make the world a safe place!"
"War is Peace!"
"Freedom is Slavery!"
"Ignorance is Power!"
No wonder his own in-laws won't vote for him - hawkeye17, on 08/29/2008, -3/+30"If you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it's true"....Goebbels.
- ronniemitchell, on 08/28/2008, -4/+26Dont forget his statement about keeping troops there until there were no more casualties..then what? ..well you have to then keep them there to preserve the peace..of course. it makes 'McCain-sense'
- BabushkaBlue, on 08/29/2008, -4/+25He scares me.
- MercyPolitics, on 08/28/2008, -4/+23McCain is completely delusional, the civil war between Sunnis, Shiites and the Kurds is still very much Iraq's daily reality. One way or another, a partition ( aka: federation) of Iraq will be the only viable long term solution for Iraq. This was suggested ,a while back, by Joe Biden.
- suckanucka, on 08/29/2008, -1/+18I'm sure he's not smoking anything, but swallowing pills that have letters like X, Z, and Q in them.
- stinkymonkey, on 08/29/2008, -0/+16Please, tell me Neocons, why do you like this guy? Please finish this sentence, "I like McCain because......." or "McCain should be president because....". Please, help me understand what you see in this guy.
- bluecrayolasf, on 08/28/2008, -3/+19too bad that this important quote ("It’s a peaceful and stable country now.") from the TIME interview with McCain by Christopher Morris was not put into print. instead, there is in a (very poor quality) audio version on TIME's website, which most people will not take the time to listen to. only a limited number of people will read this quote from progressive websites and message boards. please take the time to tell TIME that this information needs to be printed for everyone to see for themselves, both on their website and in their magazine.
letters@time.com - WasabiBomb, on 08/29/2008, -3/+16The only "change" that McCain goes through is when he gets his Depends changed.
- arial, on 08/29/2008, -1/+14Are you ***** serious? My cousin just came back seriously messed up mentally from what he went through there. My brother in law was sent packing on his 2nd tour last weekend even though he's on meds for PTSD. I understand they signed up for this but enough is enough. What's the reason behind the war this week?
- Scrooged, on 08/29/2008, -2/+15Finally! Now I can take the long delayed vacation to Iraq I've been dreaming about.
- empirefalling, on 08/29/2008, -8/+21America has failed miserably in both Afghanistan and Iraq. 3,250,000 innocent men women and children have been murdered by Bushs thug military. The battle for freedom from US military occupation still continues in both countries. The old senile war criminal McCain is nothing but an malignant extension from the insane mindset of Bush and his followers. These criminals that rally around the Bush Neocon doctrine of invade and kill first, ask no questions after...have come to an festering standstill. America and it's violent approach to all problems and it's sadistic and brutal solutions can not be tolerated. McCain should not be elected. McCain is another mad criminal, another Bush with the blood of thousands of Vietnamese on his hands.
- colincornaby, on 08/29/2008, -2/+14ITS SO PEACEFUL AND STABLE WE CAN'T LEAVE! EVER! OK? DON'T EVEN SUGGEST IT!
- headzoo, on 08/29/2008, -4/+16Tell that to the Iraqis.
- inactive, on 08/29/2008, -2/+13John McCain is filmed in front of a live studio audience.
Iraq is a peaceful and stable country now. (audience laughs) - rheaume, on 08/29/2008, -2/+13Than last week? Yes. More stable than 10 years ago? No.
- ZenMojo, on 08/29/2008, -1/+10And he'll still break 40% in the final tally and win Alabama (not that anyone will be surprised).
- trafficlight, on 08/29/2008, -3/+12It boggles the mind.
- ISurfTooMuch, on 08/29/2008, -3/+11He's entitled to his opinion. Besides, it won't matter after November 4. And, to tell you the truth, it'll matter much less after tonight.
- DonnyBahama, on 08/29/2008, -1/+9Mission Accomplished. Again. Or is it still?
Wait a minute... didn't we already accomplish this mission years ago? - TwwIX, on 08/29/2008, -1/+9Get the guy a casket already.
- gradivus, on 08/29/2008, -0/+8Why would Obama scare me?
- itsradBrad, on 08/29/2008, -1/+8Neo = New
Con = Conservative
The NewConservatives are an oxymoron by way of their title because they don't believe in conserving anything. Well, besides their money, power and connections. - JenniferInMO, on 08/29/2008, -1/+8If you click through the article to the source, the transcript of the record General Petraus explains that there are still serious problems. The way he describes it sounds like putting your finger in a leak of a critically failing dike. You quell violence in one area and it pops up in another. It isn't peaceful, it won't be peaceful. Apparently, McCain still has not bothered to look at the history of this country or even read a paragraph on the historical differences between the three groups.
- dmightx, on 09/21/2008, -0/+7Thats funny. My marine just told me TONIGHT that things were getting a little harsher in Iraq...
- inigomntoya, on 08/29/2008, -0/+7HAHA HAHA - cuz he's OLD! HAHA HAHA
- deweyhewson, on 08/29/2008, -1/+7Anecdotal evidence, for the win!
- ashwinmudigonda, on 08/29/2008, -1/+7And so is a cemetery.
- DeliciousWolf, on 08/29/2008, -1/+7I -honestly- am beginning to believe McCain is showing signs of mental decline, possible Alzheimer's. I fear for our country...
- jshooter1377, on 08/29/2008, -1/+6I'm rather offended by this, really. After hearing all of this man's recent nonsense I'm starting to think McCain takes us all as uninformed peasants (well, when you think earning half of $5 million a year is middle class...nevermind...). Which will definitely explain his outlandish comments on topics that we, in reality, all know too well.
- FTLJohnson, on 08/29/2008, -0/+5Lying worked for Bush, why wouldn't it work for other political candidates?
People have long since stopped paying attention to actually LEARNING about the issues they care about... Now most Americans just want their political candidates to make them feel good. Ignoring the truth actually causes a sort of endorphin kick in the brain, at least according to one scientific study, which seems to me to explain a whole lot of people with very myopic points of view.
McCain is vile... It wouldn't shock me if Putin is telling the truth about the U.S. being the administrative force behind the Russian / Georgian conflict... I've met McCain in person, and he is every bit as crusty, old, and full of creepy vibes as people say he is. - rheaume, on 08/29/2008, -4/+9There we go folks, its time to pull out. Never mind the brewing civil war, its not like we started this mess right?
- inactive, on 08/29/2008, -2/+7So you are saying give the guaranteed failure a chance, rather than seeing if Obama can really do better?
Yeah, that's smart. - PainToad, on 08/29/2008, -1/+6Grab the sun-block, I'm off to get a tan in the Iraq desert!
- LoJack, on 08/29/2008, -2/+6Rest in Peace, Iraq.
- andybigs, on 08/29/2008, -2/+6i wonder what planet he lives in.
- chase001, on 08/29/2008, -1/+5What does the Constitution say about being President if you live in an alternate reality?
- fuzzybeard, on 08/29/2008, -0/+4Doublethink! Doubleplus good!
- BossKey, on 08/29/2008, -1/+5Safer compared to which year...before or after we showed up?
- inactive, on 08/29/2008, -2/+6Can you say space cadet McCain?
- lanemik, on 08/29/2008, -0/+4Mmmm, right. I suggest you check out these 3 youtube vids:

Iraq may be "quieter" than it was 5 years ago but it isn't because it has gotten any more stable or secure. And it damned well isn't "peaceful" in any meaningful sense of the word. - nemo001, on 08/29/2008, -1/+5CLEVER
- stinkymonkey, on 08/29/2008, -1/+5So everyone (millions) displaced by the war are back, and their homes are fixed, and electricity is on 24/7 with internet access, and all schools are open, and their are no-suicide bombings, and the 21 US soilders that died in combat just this month is fine, and an America can safely walk the streets of bagdad, and the Iraqis are not mad that their sons, daughters, neighbors, friends died needlessly, and ...
- Shiftgood, on 08/29/2008, -3/+7I have a serious question to all the Ron Paul supporters out there.
If you had to choose between the two?
Thanks in advance for your honesty. -
