- inactive, on 10/04/2008, -7/+72You decide, mass murder that you pay for is really the path to peace?
Has that ever worked in history?
And how have Republican policies worked out for our country in the last 8 years of their control?
- digitronix, on 10/04/2008, -6/+65That's great news! That means we can come home now, right, John McCain? HUH???!??? 100 more years?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!????
- inactive, on 10/04/2008, -7/+56Kill people into submission - the Republican policy...
- smacksaw, on 10/05/2008, -3/+50I love the McCain strategy to lie unabashedly until people believe it.
- CVL4317, on 10/05/2008, -0/+41The fundamental of their security is strong
- augiegram, on 10/04/2008, -8/+44Yeah right!
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -2/+27Problem being that the average voter believes that crap.
How practical it was to not allow any reporters to cover Iraq in any realistic way...
Of course the violence went down, a genocide occured. - zephyear, on 10/04/2008, -3/+28weren't there 2 bomb attacks last week there?
- rz8472, on 10/05/2008, -0/+25Hussein was dead before the surge even started.
- fizzhead, on 10/05/2008, -2/+27But he's a maverick. He can say anything he wants.
- ChangeIsGood, on 10/04/2008, -4/+28What a jerk. I am finding it difficult to express myself with meaningful commentary!
- inactive, on 12/08/2008, -3/+26No wonder he's out of touch. He lives on another planet.
- buddhika86, on 10/05/2008, -3/+23This guy is sounding more and more unstable.
- AFelsinger, on 10/05/2008, -4/+23Another thing McCain said near the end of the tape:
He called the surge a STRATEGY, when his often-told point is that the surge was a tactic, not a strategy. - tizzleG, on 10/05/2008, -5/+24I've figured it out:
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) = Sen. John McCain C(R-AZ)Y - cheesegypsy, on 10/05/2008, -2/+21It's peaceful because we've killed everyone. Those we haven't killed have moved to another country or we are bribing them with big sacks of money.

Mccain, what the hell is it with you and holding grudges at any cost? Especially at an entire country's cost??
Would you be willing to stake your own wealth, your own children, your own wife, money, homes, etc...on this? Because sir, you tell at least three lies every time you open your mouth. And for all your 'poor me' outrage at the media, you seem to use it as a looped sound bite.
Well, we hear you. Loud and clear.
YOU SUCK.
YOU LIE.
YOU'RE STUPID.
YOU'RE WRONG.
YOU ARE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GREED AND IMMATURITY ARE BRED INTO A SINGLE PERSON OR PLATFORM.
AND YOU WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT. - radicalchaos, on 10/05/2008, -3/+18This guy is braindead.
- theWaterboy, on 10/05/2008, -0/+14Obama DOES support the soldiers! As an active duty service member I can honestly say that I, and 90% of the other people I know despise McCain, and consider Obama an intelligent, professional person whom we would be proud to have as our leader.
Tell your 'vet' friend that he is a stupid douche. - Tracknod, on 10/05/2008, -0/+14All for another FAILED war... the war on drugs :(
- rz8472, on 10/05/2008, -3/+16McCain is a violent and unstable old man
- bluesman3535, on 10/05/2008, -0/+13I want to tune into Sean Hannity and Billy Cunningham before I agree with facts. If I agree with these two radio guys I'm a Great American. Looking at facts makes me feel unpatriotic.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -0/+13FLAWLESS VICTORY
- FiestyPumpkin, on 10/05/2008, -3/+15I am sick of McCain blowing smoke up America's ass.
- jimbo92107, on 10/05/2008, -3/+15Peaceful and stable? The best way for John McCain to verify his claim would be to walk through Baghdad alone and ask some Iraqis.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -0/+12The _fundamentalists_ of Iraq are strong
- there, fixed! - algaeturd, on 10/05/2008, -0/+12Get an education. Please. You're embarrassing yourself.
- deadbaby, on 10/05/2008, -1/+13Grandpa is off his meds again
- bobbarkerbilly, on 10/05/2008, -0/+11That only works when the scum don't count Iraqis as people.
- bobbarkerbilly, on 10/05/2008, -0/+11So Iraqi civilian deaths don't count? You're the lowest of the lowest pond scum.
- MarciaJ720, on 10/05/2008, -5/+16Talked with an army vet of mine who absolutely will not vote for Obama because he doesn't support the 4000+ soldiers we have lost and that we cannot let their deaths be in vain.
I'm blown away that more deaths equals some kind of needed revenge in order to justify all of the death and destruction so far.
Geez, the U.S. started this war and now we are stuck with the consequences, both good and bad, but obviously mostly bad. - sfanetti, on 10/05/2008, -0/+11The Shia Awakening is what actually caused a drop in violence that McCain attributes to the surge.
Given the mass exodus of educated people from Iraq and the continued sectarian violence the outcome hardly looks good.
I guess those WMDs we went there to get are still clouding your mind.
Jesus man. How many times do you have to be lied to before you wise up? - inactive, on 10/05/2008, -3/+13Smoke another one John.
- liuite, on 10/05/2008, -3/+13Mission Accomplished!
- DemDude, on 10/05/2008, -4/+14wake the ***** up, people... John McCain is a liar, and an inexplicably senile one at that.
There is no peace in iraq.
This is not war.
THIS IS GENOCIDE - inactive, on 10/05/2008, -2/+12Throw the republican thugs out of office. All of the them. John McCain doesn’t even deserve his senate seat for this *****.
- diggproof, on 10/05/2008, -4/+14Silly McCain. If it was then our soldiers wouldn't still be there dying almost everyday...
- sfanetti, on 10/05/2008, -1/+11Iraq is so peaceful we need to stay there for a hundred years ot make sure Putin doesn't rear his head.
- aitoaster, on 10/05/2008, -5/+14Has McPanic totally lost it? He will just say anything .... then he will go and contradict himself an hour later.... nuts!
- algaeturd, on 10/05/2008, -1/+10The fundamentals of this war are STRONG! Mission Accomplished!
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -3/+12what a dumb old *****, why doesn't he go over there with out a massive security detail. That bitch.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -1/+9If McCain's statement is true. Why he doesn't show in the middle of Baghdad by himself with no bodyguards?
He should watch 60 minutes more often. It's the proper show for people his age. "Americans are being target of attacks in Iraq" or whatever that Mr. Big General said. - Bith8654, on 10/05/2008, -1/+9Exactly! That's all he was trying to say! Geez this is gotcha journalism at it's worst, you betcha! /sarc
- rotundo, on 10/05/2008, -2/+10Pardon my French, er "Freedom", but what McCain said here is ***** disgusting. Have the goddamn decency to admit that Iraq is still a mess, man. Yes, violence is down from it's incendiary 2006/2007 peak. It is still absolutely awful. It's similar to 2004/2005 violence levels. Just because it got momentarily worse doesn't make the current situation "good".
http://digg.com/world_news/The_Surge_Didn_t_Work
We won't know the final outcome of the Iraq war -- whether it was worth it or not -- for a decade. My bet is that it wasn't worth it.
I think McCain is still caught up in wanting to undo Vietnam. He wants the glory of the WWII allies. What he doesn't understand is that some wars, the kind we've been getting into for the past couple decades, you can't "win". Even if Iraq violence is eventually under control and the country recovers (maybe in a decade?), we didn't "win" anything. We lost, they lost. The only time you can win a war is when you have a clear aggressor and they surrender. That was not the case here. No number of dead Iraqis is going to change that. There can be no military "win" here for the US. We will have gained nothing. - Berkana, on 10/05/2008, -4/+12If you want to see what the conditions on the ground are like in Iraq, consider what the Iraqis have to say:
