- whatknight, on 07/11/2008, -16/+100old people get away with stuff like that all the time. "oh don't mind grandpa, he's only senile".
- sk11, on 07/11/2008, -21/+80So, McCain's got a bit of a temper and constantly says the wrong things, what's the worst that could happen?
McCain: look we want you Arabs to increase oil production so we can have cheaper oil.
Saudi: can't we negotiate a better deal?
McCain: WTF? LOOK RAG HEAD ***** YOU DO AS I ***** TELL YA!!
Saudi: you talk to me as if I am a dog, fine, let's see how you like $400 a barrel. - slimthps, on 07/11/2008, -14/+69The majority of those 35,000 college students really ARE spoiled children.
- Meursault, on 07/11/2008, -9/+55I wonder if Carol McCain got the straight talk!
"I'm leaving your crippled ass for a 24 year old (rich) hottie."
"Oh, John, you straight-talkin' maverick, you!" - Robart, on 07/11/2008, -12/+51Negative story about McCain = rocket like speed to the front page of Digg
- BinkyStuttocks, on 07/11/2008, -6/+43No one is more spoiled than a politician.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -8/+45I think we NEED more people to tell american Children, Teens and Adults they are ***** spoiled.
- Stevanoski, on 07/11/2008, -41/+77Oh no's, a college student is insulted. McCain can never be President now.
- mrfguitar, on 07/10/2008, -6/+39McCain's daughter has a video blog. One of the entries was of McCain barbecuing with the press corps, everyone eating, drinking beer and hanging out like a family reunion. No wonder they protect him so well...
- sk11, on 07/11/2008, -11/+40Examples of American "journalists" fellating McCain:
McCain jokes about killing Iranian civilians:
“The guy seems like any guy you’d want to have around the dinner table or the bar stool.” [Chuck Todd, NBC]
McCain jokes about blowing up Jon Stewart with an IED:
“Despite the fact he steps over the line sometimes. It makes him seem much more accessible to voter. You know, everybody likes a guy with a good sense of humor.” [Carol Costello, CNN]
McCain backtracks from his statements on Iraq:
BLITZER: There was some straight talk, very straight talk, from John McCain today. Then, he seemed to backtrack a little bit. What happened?
BASH: He realized his straight talk was too straight, Wolf. [Wolf Blitzer and Dana Bash, CNN] - whataboutdave, on 07/11/2008, -2/+28This is offensive exactly why? It's very common for people to playfully poke fun at alumni of other schools. As long as it wasn't malicious, what's the big deal?
USC has a reputation for spoiled children. Big deal. I was more offended by the comedic failure of rehashing a 30 year old joke than the alleged affront to college students. - thatguy331, on 07/11/2008, -11/+35Digg.com: Bringing you your daily pro-Obama, anti-McCain news!
- Mothrog, on 07/11/2008, -8/+30Oh god! McCain poked a little fun at his wife's college! The world is coming to an end! It must suck to be a democrat clown with no sense of humor.
- SpinningHead, on 07/11/2008, -1/+22Doesn't graduating from junior high make one an elitist?
- bosssmiley, on 07/11/2008, -5/+24"...and that's how I helped Abraham Lincoln and John Quincy Adams defeat the Nazis. You damn kids don't know you're born!" *snore*
-- John "Gran'pa Abe" McCain - DyceFreak, on 07/11/2008, -0/+19are you saying I can bribe reporters with a can of beer and get whatever I want?
No wonder mass media is 100% *****... - Skywise, on 07/11/2008, -9/+27Obama must really be in trouble. I only recall seeing one Digg for Obama voting for FISA and one for the Jesse Jackson fiasco but I've seen at least 20 anti-McCain diggs in the last 24 hours.
- ZenMojo, on 07/11/2008, -4/+21"They're gooks to me and they'll always be gooks." -- John McCain, 2000
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -2/+19Insulting? Maybe. True? Absolutely.
- tidu, on 07/11/2008, -3/+15those spoiled brats, working part time jobs while taking 20 credits and paying off loans well into their career... They think they're so special.
- jetboyterp, on 07/11/2008, -6/+18You liberals are looking more desperate each week. For gawds sake, google "media attacks mccain" and tell me how the media "protects" him.
- zacharytelschow, on 07/11/2008, -2/+13Buried: Irrelevant.
- ZenMojo, on 07/11/2008, -1/+12I was going to Digg you down. Then I realized, "Oh, wait, I went to USC (as a grad student). Yeah, it's true."
- hatgreeting, on 07/11/2008, -5/+15When you get out of college, life is like junior high again.
- Speed, on 07/11/2008, -0/+10As a university student who has to pay for everything himself and get crippling student loans: kindly, STFU
- rald84, on 07/11/2008, -4/+14Referring to her alma mater — Cindy McCain is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where she was a cheerleader and sorority sister — he called it “USC, the University of Spoiled Children.”
i find it bizarre that out of all the "elite" (ahem) colleges out there, he chose the one his sugar mama went to. - YukosEyes, on 07/11/2008, -0/+10GramarNazi, how can you agree that the "majority" are spoiled. Where's the proof that the majority of college students didn't have to take out student loans to go to school? It's just your belief.
- DaDrake, on 07/11/2008, -3/+12Except that wouldn't be in the Saudi interest.... would be like sony pricing their PS3 at 3000 USD just so people can't buy their product.
- Owned1Up, on 07/11/2008, -9/+18what makes you think he had a chance before this?
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+10*****, McCain's the candidate people want to have a beer with. Everyone can go home, the election's over. I really wish I were being sarcastic here.
- pintomp3, on 07/11/2008, -8/+17i had to work my way through college. god forbid someone wants to be more educated. i guess that makes me an elitists too.
- ZenMojo, on 07/11/2008, -1/+10Guess you were Buried For Truth? These are actual quotes:
1) http://thinkprogress.org/2008/07/09/reporters-dism ...
2) http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0805/08/sit ...
3) http://mediamatters.org/items/200802260011 - dragon76, on 07/11/2008, -2/+11Except the world doesn't need a PS3. Most of the world, right now, needs oil. I am REALLY glad oil is going through the roof and creating a crisis, we should have solved this problem in the 70's when everyone was in a tizzy to create wind turbines and solar panels for the roofs of homes but we didn't and now, thanks to "Energy Companies" we have laws that prohibit things like that.
- chicken101, on 07/11/2008, -3/+12Are you ignorant or are you just amazingly stupid?
- ZenMojo, on 07/11/2008, -1/+9My favorite part of that barbecue was a following article where the reporter gave a paragraph to her experience swinging on a tire swing.
No, REALLY. - GramarNazi, on 07/11/2008, -5/+13I guess you don't fall under the "majority." Good for you.
- lovek, on 07/11/2008, -0/+8You're probably right. But maybe acting a little spoiled isn't so bad while they have the chance. After all, once they're out of college, they'll spend the rest of their life working off the loans.
- samoan27, on 07/11/2008, -8/+16John McCain quotes and old joke and the media plays it off as 'so what?', now everyone's getting having a hissy fit? This is nothing the media hasn't done for Barack Obama. In fact the only people the media doesn't congratulate for every petty thing people that offer change, from Ron Paul to Ralph Nader.
- DanPlainview, on 07/11/2008, -2/+9McCain is salty. I'd like to think that even in his old age he could still kick some ass... Although I would love to see somebody take a swing at him.
Boxing match of the century: McCain vs. Buzz Aldrin. Salty. - inactive, on 07/11/2008, -2/+9I'm still laughing about the USC joke.
That has ALWAYS been around. Hell even USC students own up to it! - Lugano, on 07/11/2008, -2/+9Well if Obama keeps ***** up, McCain will have a better and better chance to win...
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -6/+13Most white liberals hate whites also. Most white liberal Americans
hate America. It is just so trendy to be a self-hating moron these days. So, no,
the liberals really don't care that he hates white people. In their minds, it makes
him cool. He's like the "Seven Jeans" of politicians. - pintomp3, on 07/11/2008, -3/+10yeah! quit yer lernin and go to iraq to stop 9/11.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+8Yeah, you can't tell spoiled children that they're spoiled or they'll pout.
- YukosEyes, on 07/11/2008, -1/+7If that were true, then why do so many people have to take out student loans?
- GiggleStick, on 07/11/2008, -1/+7@chicken & tidu
What's the difference between "all" and "most"? Maybe when you finish college you will know. I worked very hard in college as well, but I saw many many extreme slackers there as well. Skipping classes, doing half-assed work, etc. That is probably most of them. - B08ama, on 07/11/2008, -3/+9That's not a bad strategy to go along with, considering the circumstances:
1. Wait for McCain to say crazy things
2. Emphasize his biting wit
3. Publicly note that McCain is still mentally okay because of his great jokes - EricSchC1, on 07/11/2008, -0/+6@ Grobets1980: Um, you can ***** right off...
http://209.85.141.104/search?q=cache:yrFfWyK9fQwJ: ... - Owned1Up, on 07/11/2008, -3/+9Well FINALLY, he told the truth for once.
