- MindyB, on 05/01/2008, -20/+164He's white, that is the difference.
- jeffbw, on 05/01/2008, -18/+153Yup, "free pass" McCain. The American news media is a complete and utter joke.
- rharrie, on 05/01/2008, -13/+135Hagee called the Catholic Church the "Great Whore of Babylon." Why aren't we witnessing endless video loops about this on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of corporate media?
- berryessence, on 05/01/2008, -26/+138wow! I thought Rev Wright was bad........BUT GEEZZ I THINK THIS TAKE THE CAKE!
I'm not voting for McCain. I'm Catholic & Disabled Vet who served as a medic at a POW site....and I can't believe he will take this endorsement AND vote against the GI Bill. - obscurant, on 05/01/2008, -16/+116Remember, McCain is proud to have his endorsement
- skippyoh, on 05/01/2008, -16/+96Lord, save us from your followers.
- smacksaw, on 05/01/2008, -13/+85You can't take that "God Curses America" out of context. That's exactly what that sick ***** means.
Why does John Hagee hate America? - stormkrow, on 05/01/2008, -11/+71It seems to me that the MSM doesn't EVER talk about the crazy white "pastors" and always gives them a free pass; heck and sometimes invites them on as analysts. Most of these GOP pastors are about as loony as some of the men Hitler associated with. Now I'm not pulling the race card (I'm white); just making an observation. Wright said some things that were taken out of context (and some of the things I whole heartedly agree with) and this has been in an endless loop for months. Hagee said, says, continues to say some of the most absurd things ever uttered by a "Christian" (and a "pastor" to boot) and the MSM turns a blind eye to it. Except for the Katrina thing and even then they were like "Oh he said he didn't mean it. So we'll get back to the bitter black pastor."
You know if I had been a black man living in the 50's and 60's I would be pretty damn bitter myself, between the lynchings and segregation and racism. But God Damn an America that wouldn't let me use my right to free speech reminding people of what they fought through.
I said this on a previous post, here: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Tell_Senator_Dol ...
Pastor "Zion" Hagee
He is perhaps the most racist, bigoted non-Christian pastor piece of ***** on the planet....but the MSM doesn't talk bad about GOP and Presidential "spiritual advisor's" hell bent on bringing about the apocalypse.

Or how about Pat Robertson's inflammatory remarks?
Maybe Oral Roberts?
Sorry but an endorsement from any of these "pastors" is about the same as being endorsed by the Nazi party. - inactive, on 05/01/2008, -10/+53McCain, who had been courting the endorsement for over a year, said that he was “very honored by Pastor John Hagee’s endorsement.”
On February 29, 2008, McCain stated that Hagee "supports what I stand for and believe in." - SoulDrift404, on 05/01/2008, -4/+46I'm from New Orleans, a heavily Catholic city-- I'm offended by his Katrina comments AND his Catholic rant.
What a jerk. - swrostmore, on 05/01/2008, -17/+55The difference between Rev. Hagee and Rev. Dr. Wright is that McCain ACTIVELY SOUGHT OUT HAGEE'S ENDORSEMENT AS PART OF HIS POLITICAL CAMPAIGN. He saw Hagee's hateful statements, and thought, "this will help me get elected, I'd better ask for this guy's endorsement."
- GlassAgate, on 05/01/2008, -14/+50Pastor Hagee sounds just as nutty as those Westboro Batist
Church people, doens't he? - pixarman, on 05/01/2008, -10/+41That's one of the most ridiculous statements I think I've ever heard.
- dinot, on 05/01/2008, -4/+301. I have a friend, who I've been close with for many years. He says a lot of ***** I disagree with and we fight all the time, but he's still my friend and has helped me through some rough times, and I'd rather not leave him hanging when the going gets tough.... But *****, he's totally pissed me off lately, and not the same person I met before. This sucks.
2. I met someone the other day at a party. He's a known loud-mouthed jackass, but since I'm running for President, I'd like for him to tell people that he likes me so I can do well with other loud-mouthed jackasses. I'll even pretend to agree with him when it's convenient and disagree with him when it's inconvenient.
What is more honorable?
I'd also like to point out that, frankly, I don't give two ***** about either candidates' pastors or what they do or say. - theaceoffire, on 05/01/2008, -6/+31Wait till you hear the reasoning for invading Iran.
- oldhick, on 05/01/2008, -10/+32Hagee is a douche.
- apothekari, on 05/01/2008, -10/+29How is this different from the speech Obama gave in Winston Salem NC on Tuesday?
Oh yeah, He's black and a Democrat... - pintomp3, on 05/01/2008, -4/+21one blames 9/11 on our past foreign policy, the other blames it on the gays. hagee is way crazier.
- theaceoffire, on 05/01/2008, -2/+18So he is not a good religious follower AND he follows an *****, therefore he is better?
- insllvn, on 05/01/2008, -3/+19A preacher who McCain sought an endorsement from.
- yakski, on 05/01/2008, -6/+22You are clearly the psychotic .. McCain is an ardent supporter of Hagee, why else would he almost yearly attend Hagee conventions where Hagee spouts all of the despicable hateful slurs against ..well, everyone except people who believes like he does ... i.e., that the Pope is in league with Satan and that all non-Christians are evil, or that Christians who believe in the science of evolution are evil... and on and on and on and on... McCain volunteers to go to these Hagee events on a regular basis. This guy is so sick it is unbelievable and yet McCain follows him around like a puppy dog so that he can get the radical nutcase fundamentalist christian vote. No sir... you are the sick one.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 05/01/2008, -2/+17Now we are going to learn the important hair splitting difference between cursing and damning something. Let the spin begin!
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -6/+20But we're not scared of white people.
- dinot, on 05/01/2008, -8/+22Shut up already with this pastor-mania.
- Coven, on 05/01/2008, -2/+16I think this warrants a flaming bag of poo on their doorstep :)
- davdev, on 05/01/2008, -3/+17Link to Hamas endorsement please? Please also include where Obama sought out such an endorsement and said he "was glad to have it"
- pintomp3, on 05/01/2008, -2/+15except he is far more influential. check out the piece bill moyer did on hagee and CUFI:
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/10052007/profile ...
his end-time theology is catching on strong in the US and has a direct impact on our foreign policy:

- duggtodeath, on 05/01/2008, -6/+18FAGS FUEL HURRICANES!
/sarc - sb66, on 05/01/2008, -0/+11Wright looks about 90% white to me. How does it work in america -if you have the tiniest % of black genes you call yourself black?
- rhabd0mancer, on 05/01/2008, -6/+17So which of Hagee's views does McCain agree with?
- pintomp3, on 05/01/2008, -3/+14On February 29, McCain stated that Hagee "supports what I stand for and believe in." He added that he was "proud" of Hagee's spiritual leadership.
http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=3316
so which is it? - serif69, on 05/01/2008, -0/+11Amen
- JQP123, on 05/01/2008, -1/+12Yep, we're cursed and doomed ... not by god ... but by the fact that we have too many people willing to follow charlatans like this who presume to speak for god.
- pintomp3, on 05/01/2008, -3/+14good point, because this is mccain's SPIRITUAL ADVISER:
http://www.motherjones.com/washington_dispatch/200 ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tViqufbk7I8 - b0rg, on 05/01/2008, -0/+10You're missing the point. Hagee is white, and talking about gay people being an affront to nature itself. That's called "get out the vote talk" in SUV-land. Granted, both him and Wright are buffons selling different flavors of the same crap... just different market segments.
- pintomp3, on 05/01/2008, -2/+12On February 29, McCain stated that Hagee "supports what I stand for and believe in." He added that he was "proud" of Hagee's spiritual leadership.

mccain never seems to able to make up his mind. - amida, on 05/01/2008, -1/+10There was a soundbite on NPR's Fresh Air--it just doesn't get played on TV like the Wright stuff did: "All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are -- were recipients of the judgment of God for that. The newspaper carried the story in our local area that was not carried nationally that there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came. And the promise of that parade was that it was going to reach a level of sexuality never demonstrated before in any of the other Gay Pride parades. So I believe that the judgment of God is a very real thing. I know that there are people who demur from that, but I believe that the Bible teaches that when you violate the law of God, that God brings punishment sometimes before the day of judgment. And I believe that the Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans." -Hagee [NPR Fresh Air, 9/18/06]
- regeya, on 05/01/2008, -3/+12I think Hagee's a lot worse than Wright. He seems to think that he's one of the instruments to bring about the Apocalypse, and just as bad, sees Christianity's Rapture talk as a revenue stream.
Don't fall for this guy! - inactive, on 05/01/2008, -2/+11McCain and his staff actively sought out Hagee’s endorsement, he appeared and campaigned with Hagee, he said he was proud to be backed by Hagee. McCain, who had been courting the endorsement for over a year, said that he was “very honored by Pastor John Hagee’s endorsement.” On February 29, 2008, McCain stated that Hagee "supports what I stand for and believe in."
- inactive, on 05/01/2008, -2/+11Where's your video link?
- swrostmore, on 05/01/2008, -4/+13The one about exterminating all Muslims. I don't honestly think McCain thinks Katrina was God's punishment for the gays, but he is definitely in favor of Muslim genocide. "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran..."
- davdev, on 05/01/2008, -3/+12But didn't you know the news media is all liberals. McCain must really be squeeky clean, or else it would have come out by now. Right? Anyone? Bueller?
- Testiculese, on 05/01/2008, -1/+10My friend's father is completely racist, he lived in that HOUSE for 20 years. He's not racist.
- pintomp3, on 05/01/2008, -0/+9seriously. i want to get back to talking about lapel pins and expensive haircuts.
- Dumbledorito, on 05/01/2008, -4/+12And the difference is that McCain sought Hagee's endorsement, along with several other extreme religious leaders, in an attempt to court the right-wing evangelical base of the GOP.
I went to Catholic School through the 9th grade. I'm an atheist now. If my former Priest starts claiming that Jesus is going to drop a giant donut on the white house, is that my problem? - The_Red_Monkey, on 05/01/2008, -15/+23The difference is that McCain was not a 20year long member of his church and Hagee was not his spiritual adviser and was not working on his campaign. He just endorsed him you morons.
- exronin, on 05/01/2008, -1/+9coz hes white and doesn't wear a dashiki.
- avenu420, on 05/01/2008, -7/+15This kind of nut job religion is a crutch for too many people. People need to learn to walk (and think) on their own.
