- jbdobd, on 07/10/2008, -7/+157If he'll lie to his fellow vets, who won't he lie to? No wonder he was last in his Naval Academy class.
- tcbishop12, on 07/10/2008, -5/+78A telling analysis and on point exposure of McCain's blatant lies by MSNBC Countdown, in addition to the raw video available yesterday.
- Macrophage, on 07/10/2008, -10/+73He is ..in Plain English..an Elitist, Bigoted, Ass
Go fight your GOP War Yourself Senator....sacrifice your own family to your Warmongering
Leave Ours Alone !!!!!!!
PEACE
John USN/USCG HM2 1978-1988 - thepoliticalcat, on 07/10/2008, -4/+56That's a shameless damned lie. He, of all people, should have supported that bill from day one. Just like he, of all people, should have voted against torture. The man is a pitiful spectacle. He is willing to pander shamelessly if he thinks it will help him to win an increasingly elusive Presidency. And he's turned his back on his own people to win.
- Lynx55, on 07/11/2008, -9/+42Saw this on CNN when it happened....great moment! I could hug that Vet, and we need more like him , willing to stand up to Mcjerk. McCain looked like a deer caught in the headlights! How a candidate for the highest office can blatantly just LIE to the country and his 'fellow" vets is beyond me. And how we can tolerate that is just amazing.
- tcpik, on 07/11/2008, -4/+36I can't wait till Obama and McCain are side by side on a debate stage. That's when we will really see how old and forgetful this man is.
- pintomp3, on 07/11/2008, -2/+25not everyone's daddy can get them into a good school.
- FutureGuy, on 07/11/2008, -3/+21he will do say anything for votes. too bad most of his audience are too dumb to figure that out.
- freff, on 07/11/2008, -6/+24Kerry was taking ***** from people who were blatantly lying about his record and his honor.
McCain is currently misrepresenting (lying about) his own record, and has sold his honor to Karl Rove in exchange for a shot at the Presidency.
Subtle difference. - Pantzaroff, on 07/11/2008, -7/+24McCain is an all around terrible man.
It's amazing that people such as my grandparents and parents blindly support him, but I think thats more of an example of biased media outlets than anything.
The only thing even close to fair and unbiased is what you can find for yourself on the internet and decide on your own.
Let's hope that in the future, as more of our generation comes to power and has access to utilities like information on the web, we can collectively make better decisions about our leaders. - omnithought, on 07/11/2008, -3/+20You gotta wonder about someone who experienced being a POW and then keeps voting against things that would help his fellow veterans. I know of more than a few vets who consider him a soullless traitor.
- motivatedmama, on 07/10/2008, -10/+26It seems the GI bill is McCains achilles heel just as FISA is Obama's. Then there's all the rest of McCains achilles heel's. He's short quite a few feet. Let the Paulite's scream, to the 'average' person McCain's weaknesses are glaringly apparent.
- bendiggn, on 07/11/2008, -2/+18During that same broadcast Rachel Maddow criticizes the Democrats on the handling of the FISA bill.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -7/+22No, he's got CRAZY IDEAS!! Much better to have an insane lying piece of ***** that wants to wage three wars at once while screwing everybody and infringing every ***** right he can. Don't you listen to what the TV tells you?
RP would've done what the constitution says, it's CRAZY!!! IF RP had his way, America wouldn't be able to afford putting 1% of the population in prison and killing little old ladies for smoking pot. Where would they get the money to afford killing a million people overseas?
No, you're much better off with this old sack. - bobbarkerbilly, on 07/11/2008, -3/+17Except that our kids should all learn Spanish. And their kids should learn Chinese.
Hate to break it to ya. - nsapra, on 07/11/2008, -5/+19***** You Senator McCain.
- bobbi21, on 07/11/2008, -1/+14Well every politician lies about what they promise. That's not even a question anymore. What's particularly annoying here is that he's lying about things which can be verified as false. It's the difference between saying "My new years resolution is to lose 50 lbs" and then not being able to do it/not wanting enough to do it, vs. "I lost 50lbs last year" when your family doctor can confirm that you didn't. It's apples and oranges. Making promises you can't keep is totally different than lying about facts.
McCain has consistently lied about his past. People catch him time and time again saying things which just aren't true. The general public needs to know this stuff. - zmelvin, on 07/11/2008, -12/+23Give him a break, he didn't have any advisers there to tell him his voting record or current opinions. This guy can't remember what he had for breakfast, how can you hold him accountable for things that happened years ago?
- denizen42, on 07/11/2008, -6/+17Just when mccain said: "They don't know something you know"
the Vet should've replied: "yea, the TRUTH!" - nevetssav, on 07/11/2008, -2/+12No one is attacking McCain's service record, but instead, his voting record on Veterans' Affairs, which is notably teribble - Obama has recieved better 'grades' from several VA groups - yet somehow McCain manages to hang his hat on being a veteran. It's like a kid holding his hands over his ears, screaming "I am a good veteran!" over and over.
- TonyLocNE, on 07/11/2008, -1/+11When I saw this on TV, I was like "Oh snap he just got owned.."
Balls to that guy, I'm glad he stood up and told everyone there something many did not know..
And in case you didn't catch the whole conversation, after McCain was done speaking, he only received muffled applause. I do believe people there were listening to the vet and seen he had no reason to lie about something like that. - bruce86, on 07/11/2008, -5/+15How dare he suggest your kids learn something to make them competitive in the global market. Its just shameful. We should put a curtain of iron of some sort around all of our borders so we never have to speak another language.
- Bunnybutt, on 07/11/2008, -1/+11Pathetic that he will sit there and lie to the face of a fellow Vet. What a complete douche! McCain can't handle simple exchanges with any type of composure, how the hell could he hold it together if he was President.
- GJBlizzard, on 07/11/2008, -0/+9OH SNAP!
- banderwocky, on 07/11/2008, -1/+10Looks like the old goat John Sidney McCain III has no respect for his fellow vets. That's gotta tell you something about his 'character'.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -0/+9Seeing how a vet just called him out as a liar and demolished his arguments, I can't ***** wait for the debates. I'll have a huge tub of popcorn and a grin on my face watching that bastard stumble over his own words and look like a fool.
- freff, on 07/11/2008, -6/+15You must be one of those special people who eats "Freedom Fries" and only puts american cheese on his burger. The world must be such a simple place for you.
Obama calling for better education and language skills for our children is supposed to be the same as McCain's baldfaced lie about his record to a fellow Vietnam vet? Strange point. - terracottapai, on 07/11/2008, -0/+9Hey folks.
I'm here to let you know that there's sarcasm present and it is going tragically undetected.
That is all. - inactive, on 07/11/2008, -4/+12The Internet is the biggest threat to the US government and the trust placed in the elected officials. To McCains credit, he is pretty ***** old and just making ***** up because he even forgot what he ate for breakfast.
- altgeeky1, on 07/11/2008, -1/+9No, but marrying a Beer Baroness does...
Gets you 12 houses anyways. I'd say that makes you elitist and elite. - latinjones, on 07/11/2008, -1/+9Being an elitist doesn't make you elite.
- scottnash, on 07/11/2008, -2/+10I'd have enjoyed the video more without the snarky comments interspersed by the commentator. It's a good thing she told me McCain was getting defensive otherwise I wouldn't have noticed.
- kg37, on 07/11/2008, -2/+9McCain gets pwned!
- Kenzan, on 07/11/2008, -1/+8I'll bet McCain wanted to call him a *****.
- pedo, on 07/11/2008, -3/+10McCain is able to make bald-faced lies like this because the media doesn't call him out on them.
Rachel Maddow is awesome though. - frostbyt, on 07/11/2008, -4/+11McCain....what a joke.
- beathermit, on 07/11/2008, -8/+15what a prick.
- onyxcoltrane, on 07/11/2008, -1/+7Video only: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/McCain_smack_dow ...
- bobbi21, on 07/11/2008, -2/+8That'll be an akward dinner conversation. "Dad? why won't you give the hospital money to fix my shrapnel filled leg?" "I was in a POW camp during nam!" "but..my leg.." "I was a great leader during the war!"
- ericjohnson0, on 07/11/2008, -3/+9In Europe they should be learning Arabic and Urdu, but I digress...
- aigulf, on 07/11/2008, -2/+8Something tells me his kids aren't going to the veterans hospitals...
- Gimli, on 07/12/2008, -1/+7John McCain would have came out better if he admitted he voted against the bill and just left it at that. However, being you typical Politician he tried to cover it up by "trying" to make the guy look like a liar.....it backfired badly for him and this will no doubt come back to haunt him in November.
- mrinsanity, on 07/11/2008, -1/+7Yeah 'cause losing your train of thought, or stumbling on your words is the same as LYING about your voting record to a vets face.
I'm sick of seeing politicians stumble on their words just to have it made into a youtube video "OMG look he can't speak!"
It was funny for about 5 or 6 years, now I'm over it. - flashback99, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5I dunno, how can I hold him accountable for lying about something he didn't do, I wonder?
Maybe I can because he's RUNNING FOR F*ING PRESIDENT?
maybe? :) - flashback99, on 07/11/2008, -1/+6The man lied to a vietnam veteran about his voting record. Which part of biased / unbiased does a fact that like sit?
It's pretty obvious McCain lied, it's difficult to spin it any other way, edited or unedited. - bluscale, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5Ah, good stuff. I'm sure he won't call on ppl with them funny little hats anymore.
- S4MF1SHER, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5Ah, senility. That's the game, eh?
- geoken, on 07/12/2008, -1/+6So if I go out this afternoon and do something good, does that make me immune from being called a terrible man when I commit a rape tomorrow?
- notSLICK, on 07/11/2008, -2/+7with examples of bublic leadership like John Mcain... i suddenly feel as though it would be totaly OK to lie on my resume.
sure... i got 4.0 in highschool, i graduated with a Phd. in celestial mechanics and a masters in cryptozoology.
i have 9 inch teeth and i eat lawnmowers with bacon and pucupine pee.
thats about what john mcain is saying. - Kenzan, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5You mean Schmuck.
