- swimmingmom, on 09/09/2008, -0/+26This can't be true...this is the USA! There is supposed to be a separation of church and state!
When and where will the protest start first? - rald84, on 09/09/2008, -0/+24but god doesn't make mistakes!
- barblibrarian, on 09/09/2008, -0/+21You can "Hope" all you want that your actions are "indeed righteous" but the American people, and the Iraqi people, know about the lies that brought about this war in an effort to bring cha-ching to the pockets of Bush-Cheney and other old oil families.
We can't judge you here on earth, but God help you when you arrive at the next!!
Lying, cheating, mocking, stealing - all to grab power. Sounds like you might spend a few milenia burning........... - freyaXgefn, on 09/10/2008, -1/+18***** MCCAIN!
- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -0/+15God wants us to drill and kill? Christian, thou-shalt-not-kill, God, wants us to kill? And Christian, thou-shalt-not-covet, God, wants us to drill? That's what the McCain camp is saying?
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -0/+12Wake Up America!
How many Holy wars will McCain/Palin start in 4 years if elected and tell us that God wanted them to do it!
Who of you will "go to the gates of Hell" for McCain/Palin to fight their battles while they say it's for God?
Not me! Not this time! - tamaker, on 09/10/2008, -0/+12Dude.... seriously. This is some scary *****. I mean, Im sittin back, watching all the hoopla, the back and forth between the campaigns... then BLAM!
McCains campaign adds her to the ticket, (like oh, snap, its the Mom from the Brady Bunch everybody... whats more American than that?! Oh, you're not questioning her - are you - you terrorist lover / Troops-hater!) and literally steals the Obama campaigns campaign slogan, etc. -- and he's up in the polls (if you put a lot of value on polls)... Gotta give it to 'em... the Republicans are like some mythical pimps with their political game...
***** would be funny -- if I didnt live here. (but I do so right about now Im gettin' freakin' scared). - inactive, on 09/10/2008, -0/+12PRAAAAAISE JEBUS!
- Gemfinder, on 09/10/2008, -0/+11Yeah, let's pray for guidance in this war. Forget about praying for the safe return of the troops. Nah, they're all cannon-fodder for JEE-Yay-zuss!
Can we say "dog-whistle for Dominionists"? - stonecircle, on 06/11/2009, -0/+8The Iraq War is a "task from God", a war which was built upon the premise of lies? I wouldn't think that lies, deception, a war that kills thousands for the sake of profit is something supported by God. Thou Shalt Not Kill doesn't leave a lot of room for interpretation.
God is asked to take sides during the slaughter and misery that we foolish humans call war. The perpetrators of violence, terrorism, and war, on either side of every conflict, tell their followers to pray to God for victory over their enemies. - Echota, on 01/05/2009, -0/+8God didn't start the war! Bush did!
- emailowndme, on 09/10/2008, -0/+8I'm pro-apocalypse, but only by cats and hedgehog-apults. The concept that someone found something more ***** crazy to say then that, not inside the annonymous cloud of the internet, well...I'm speechless...
And angry I didn't think of it first... - stormkrow, on 09/10/2008, -0/+7I'll tell you this there are NO republicans in the republican party and a vote or support for McCain/Palin is tantamount to accepting everything over the last 8 years. In my mind if you support this party that means you have to OWN everything that goes along with it you don't get to pick and choose if you whole heartedly support the GOP then you OWN all of it's failings too and that friends is the cold hard reality of it all and I'm sorry to say it but it makes you a hypocrite of the highest magnitude.
Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, Katrina, FISA, the Patriot Act, Stevens, DeLay, Abramoff, Enron, Worldcomm, 9-11, Gonzalez, Rove, CEO bail outs, Plamegate, loss of Habeus Corpus, Shredding of the Constitution, $4 gas, Voter caging in Ohio and Florida, racism against illegal immigrants, LGBT hate crimes, "Mission Accomplished", 1 Million+ Iraqi civilian causalities, 1 Million+ Casualties and refugees in Sudan/Darfur, 10,000 fold increase in heroin production, the worst "Dollar" in American history, 6.1% unemployment (conservative), tent cities, 40 Million+ uninsured, Walter Reed, Drill our way out, from the most respected to the most hated citizens on Earth, Coalition of the Billing, multi-billion dollar profits for Big Oil, mulit-billion dollar contracts for Halliburton, the most secretive gvt in modern history, commuting of sentences for convicted traitors, Supreme court standing by big business, Gulf War Syndrome vets class action lawsuit quashed, Abstinence Only education, public schools failing our children, bridges collapsing in Minnesota, our highway and infrastructure in complete disarray, the fight for Net Neutrality, 8,000 dead Americans, ........
OWN IT GOP Supporters. OWN IT. Lock, Stock and Barrel.
When you support the McCain/Palin ticket then you by default agree with and stand by the short list noted above. NO you don't get to pick and choose, this is YOUR party, OWN IT. - inactive, on 09/10/2008, -0/+7What pisses me off the most is all these claims on behalf of God, like God is their little silent yes-man. This is an outrage!
- wunksta, on 09/10/2008, -0/+7Oh, well if it's from God, that changes things.
- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -1/+8Exxon is God.
- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -1/+7If these r'tards win the election I say we clone Guy Fawkes from his DNA and direct him to the White House.
- SheilaNoya, on 09/10/2008, -0/+6Does the McCain campaign also agree that Sarah Palin and her crazy Pentecostal church believe that God has chosen them to help usher in the End Times so Jesus can return?
I want people in the White House who care about our future, not a bunch of religious extremists who are trying to fulfill a bible prophecy that brings about the end of the world. - pintomp3, on 09/10/2008, -0/+5what does 9/11 have to do with iraq? oh right, NOTHING!
- JPHR, on 09/10/2008, -0/+5So according to Palin the born the again Christian Bush is the minister/priest leading the service.....
It is said that after a long war people start to look like their enemies. There is that other theocracy in the middle east Iran, which seems to share quite a lot of this world view of Palin, you know holy war, no abortions even after rape or incest.. - sk11, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4Good to see how far removed they are from Bush.
/sarc - kingUssop, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4Separation between church and state? Not with MORONS in office who don't understand what the state is. This is pathetic. If the mainstream media doesn't report on it critically then we really are approaching the twilight of democracy.
- hemicranker, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4Keep a watchful eye! When politicians are trying to tell us what is righteous, all of us are in trouble. Politicians should not be allowed to use the word righteous. They have no idea what the word means.
- Sonan, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4Same difference.
- pintomp3, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4bush said god told him to.
- prsurfer, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4With this people as leaders, history will repeat itself again and again.... MORE WARS have been fought in the name of GOD than for any other reason... MILLIONS of people have been killed in the NAME OF GOD...
Nowadays , a prerequisite for REPUBLICANS is STUPIDITY and IGNORANCE!!!..
If you like PALIN and McCain , Go ahead ENLIST!!!... and continue MESSING UP everything for our future...
Blind Morons! - CVL4317, on 09/10/2008, -0/+3stop using the "God"'s name .... McCain is probably the worst example of Christians next to Bush....
- prsurfer, on 09/10/2008, -0/+3OIL is their ONLY GOD!!!
Do your country a favor, please Educate all rednecks before it is too late! - pintomp3, on 09/10/2008, -0/+3mccain/palin
bush with a vengeance. - prsurfer, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2With this people as leaders, history will repeat itself again and again.... MORE WARS have been fought in the name of GOD than for any other reason... MILLIONS of people have been killed in the NAME OF GOD...

Do our country a favor, please Educate all rednecks before it is too late! - kingUssop, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Ok I just realized IT'S A TRAP! I'm convinced McCain is just using reverse psychology now.
He wants everyone to attack him for his statement so it will look like "faith" is under attack and not common sense. I guess he's lost all of his self-respect. - stormkrow, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Please share your FACTS and TRUTH with me.
- Hetman, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Out of all the task God could have asked us, he asked us to start a war of aggresion with a country that did not even attack us. Why did he not send us a better task. Here are a few that just popped into my head. 1 Feed the poor. 2 Provide shelter for the poor. 3 Research more ways of curing cancer/aids etc. 4 Reduce our carbon footprint and pollution etc. I could go on but it becomes pointless. Some times I wonder if the christian conseravitives in this country are taking their orders from God or is it Satan.
- kebinusan, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Scary if true
- Hetman, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Evangelist and many christian conservatives really do not like catholics very much. It has to do with the saints and also the fact that the pope recognizes evolution to be the best way to describe the diversity of life on the planet earth.
- snoglobedame2, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2The most devestating thing about the McCain comment is that we are actually putting thousands of American men and women in harm's way to clear Afghanistan of a theocracy [i.e., the Taliban] which fundamentally doesn't respect the lines between church and state--yet that's how McCain is packaging Iraq here--as some sort of modern-day "crusade."
And since when is lining your cronies' pockets with oil and war money "a task from God?" - Sinbaad, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2The Roman Catholic Pope would, and did in fact disagree with "Bush's War"... Whose god is the GOP referencing ???
- Aidje, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2"let's hope this is what God wants" ≠ "this is a mission from God"
I'm as against the McCain and the war as much as the next guy, but I don't see how either of the statements being cited actually means what people are saying they mean. Seems like the media is twisting words to make people sound bad. Come on; they sound bad enough when reports are accurate. There's no reason to twist people's words to make things sound even worse. - susilou, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1www.mybarackobama.com
- ironiridis, on 09/10/2008, -1/+2Also, really, please don't advocate the murder of innocents. People other than the President work in the White House. You're just as good as the conservatives when innocent people die for your idea of "justice"...
- stormkrow, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1There is no "hate" in my "diatribe" I'm just telling it like it is brother. If YOU support the GOP and McCain/Palin then by default YOU MUST OWN the rest of the GOP's failings just as I will whole heartedly support Clinton's failings and Pelosi's failings.
OWN IT or walk away. - 7goats, on 09/10/2008, -3/+4Let's keep on talking about these silly non-issues like a holy war... doesn't she have a teenager who's pregnant out of wedlock? We are so hosed.
- KingHarvest00, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1god is a prick
- Sinbaad, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1Thanx Hetman, for the clarification. So, it's sorta like the Shia vs. Sunni version of our respectives, less the killing here at this point... Seems a bit too clear that religious sects in the name of God is being used in each case by ruthless politicians for power, or more power over the less powerful and/or silent majority or minority, who actually only want peace and respectful equality with worshiping a peacful/loving God in a spiritual communion(or even the right not to believe or practice), rather than elimination of each other, as a good and just Constitution protects by law and not by force.
- Ferre1, on 09/10/2008, -1/+2What good would that do? Guy Fawkes was a religious zealot who plotted to bomb the British parliament in order for his fellow religious zealots to take over the government. Little do people know about history, Guy Fawkes attempt had everything to do with forcing a (another) religious view into politics.
- aadyss, on 09/10/2008, -0/+0Brilliant! What did Vietnam have to do with anything?
- aadyss, on 09/10/2008, -0/+0Don't worry 'dude.' It has been going on for a few centuries. Nothing new...just more tame.
- aadyss, on 09/10/2008, -1/+0WOW! SCREAMING!! LOUD!! I'm educated...not a redneck, whatever that is... Is a redneck the opposite of a pompous elitist?
