- stinkymonkey, on 08/05/2008, -6/+90McCain on Monday: Americans are better off today.
McCain on Tuesday: Americans are having a hard time.
McCain on Wednesday: My naive opponent Obama actually said Americans are better off.
McCain on Thursday: Bomb bomb bomb Iran...hehehehehe....
McCain on Friday: I have always stated Americans are not better off and we need to fix this problem Obama created. - dan322420, on 08/05/2008, -10/+87Yeah, and Jews were "'better off" under Hitler.
- neognostic, on 08/05/2008, -7/+75Ok, it's no longer McSame it is now McInsane!
- Pierremj2, on 08/05/2008, -5/+41There are not enough words left to accurately capture the Bush administration's moral and ethical depravity as demonstrated by yet another disclosure of malfeasance (Gonzales aids faulted over partisan hiring who lacked qualifications).
Suffice to say, the current Oval Office occupant has shown by his total disregard for law, civility and decorum that he is one of the worst "leaders" in American History. By activities such as the one disclosed, Bush continues to debase our nation to an almost unimaginable degree, and it will take many decades for us to recover from the damage caused by his countless misdeeds. - wynja, on 08/05/2008, -5/+36Jesus ***** Christ. And Zogby says that 41% of the ***** retards here in America are going to vote for this piece of *****.
- tcbishop12, on 08/05/2008, -6/+34McCain says things are tough now, but we're better off than in 2000:
Q: Are Americans better off than they were eight years ago?
A: You could argue that Americans overall are better off, because we have a pretty good prosperous time. . .
But let's have some straight talk. Things are tough right now. Americans are uncertain about this housing crisis. Americans are uncertain about the economy, as we see the stock market bounce up and down.
But I think what we're trying to do to fix this economy is important. We've got to address the subprime housing problem.
We need to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, which I voted for twice to do so. I think we need to eliminate that alternate minimum tax.
I think we are better off overall if you look at the entire eight-year period, when you look at the millions of jobs that have been created, the improvement in the economy, etc. Yeah.

Wall Street Journal on Nov. 26, 2005: "I'm going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated."
I could not find that McCain has said that quote "repeatedly," but he has made similar comments. The Chicago Tribune quoted McCain talking to reporters on Dec. 18, 2007: "The issue of economics is something that I've really never understood as well as I should. I suppose I ought to understand the basics, the fundamentals, the vision, all that kind of stuff."

- weboptimist, on 08/05/2008, -8/+29How do you spell idiot?
M-C-C-A-I-N - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -2/+23Yes, they were
- envyme, on 08/06/2008, -2/+20Is he trying to lose here? I just honestly can't see it any other way.
- lopla, on 08/06/2008, -1/+19My parents are Republicans but are voting Obama. When I asked about it my Mom said, "We think McCain might be insane."
- Dumbledorito, on 08/06/2008, -1/+18You guys are really hitting the bottom of the "Rush Limbaugh Guide to Conservative Humor," aren't you?
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+17" Bush has made mistakes, but the dems are largely responsible for the current economic problems. "
Right. Because the ***** sucking Republicans weren't in charge for 6-7 years where they managed to rape the surplus, invade two countries, have a plethora of scandals not to forget several of their members being involved in homosexual activities, sodomized the economy, lied about WMDs, committed numerous war crimes in relation to pursing an illegal war and setting up torture prisons, destroying rights of millions of Americans through stupid laws, ***** up emergency responses to Hurricane Katrina and I'm only scratching the surface. - Fordi, on 08/06/2008, -0/+14That would never stop a republican from lying about it.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+13hey moron, pay attention the republidiots have been running the country into the ground for 10 + years, only in the past did the dems get a slight majority. the debt and sorry economic mess we in is due the the republicraps.
- jimchap, on 08/06/2008, -6/+18he means that Americans are "bitter off" under Bush.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -1/+13No. If Jews get to play the holocaust card through their mafia AIPAC gang, then we should have the right to criticize and reference their own history.
Bush has already killed 200-300 thousand Iraqis and another 2-5 million from humanitarian issues in Iraq. He destroyed the country's infrastructure. Obama would reverse the damage or at least try to fix the problem instead of putting $$ into Halliburton's pockets. - ChefGamer, on 08/06/2008, -1/+13This creature called mccain has been flip flopping for so long i dont know what else to think, he is always pleasing both sides & looking like a hypocrite. Is he aware of the internet & the information we can pull up on all his lies??
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -3/+15Saddam was a murderous thug, but at least many Iraqis had basic services such as running water and there weren't roving bands of sectarian fighters...
- reed311, on 08/06/2008, -0/+11The big problem right now is paying for the Iraq War, which was started by Bush under false pretenses. The war has been a huge money sink and we are getting nothing out of it in return. You can't continue to print money at alarming rates to pay for this. The Democrats have no choice but to fund this war or else they would commit political suicide as it would be seen as spitting in the face of the troops. To claim that the Dems are responsible for the current problems is just silly. It takes far more than 2 years for economic policies to feel their full effect.
- Fordi, on 08/06/2008, -1/+12Holy crap, man. If you're going to make fun, at least use a little creativity.
Hell, you're not even using the right political slant; republicans think he's a socialist, not a fascist. Obamalin would be at least more matching with that.
In short, you failed to match both humor and your own tenets. Just hang your head in shame. - Seann7656, on 08/06/2008, -0/+9My lord... HE CANNOT MAKE UP HIS MIND!
Ughh...
I give up on my party.
Libertarian is looking good - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+8RICH Americans are better off.
- lmp49, on 08/06/2008, -0/+8haha, I like how McCain started listing off a bunch of reasons why America is NOT better off under Bush, then he tried to dig himself out of his own hole when Anderson Cooper called him out on it
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+8I don't know about anyone else, but personally my standard of living has declined in some rather obvious ways over the last few years...

- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -3/+10NASCAR Wooooooooooo!
- elipabst, on 08/06/2008, -0/+7It's from January 2008 and his recent ad; what calendar are you using that they are 2 different years? The housing and credit crisis have been going on since august 2007, so if he hadn't heard about it by January, then he needs to turn off Matlock and start paying attention.
- Dumbledorito, on 08/06/2008, -0/+7Sorry, no World History this year; they cut the budget.
- theutopian, on 08/06/2008, -2/+9Congress may control spending but Bush has Veto power over anything they pass. The Dems don't have a veto proof majority. That's why they haven't been able to get anything done.
Really you deserve to be dugg down for 'libtard.'
What happened to reasoned debate based on mutual respect? - Dumbledorito, on 08/06/2008, -0/+7How are Democrats supposed to halt any spending by Bush when the GOP dittoheads won't vote to override Bush's veto? If overspending was really that important to Republicans, you'd think they'd actually cooperate once in a while...
- Wootinator, on 08/06/2008, -0/+6This guy cannot be our president.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -1/+7Right because the money for invading two countries and injecting the defense industry and military with trillions of dollars wont have an adverse effect on the economy.
And no, actually I didn't take sociology at school. While you were at "school" *cough community college* taking "business economics and finance" I was getting my JD/MBA from a "school" you could only dream about attending.
Silly Republicans, after ***** up the economy for 8 years, you still think you people know anything about wealth - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -1/+7Care to comment on the article, or rebut one of the comments?
- freddiet, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5is he cracked when he said this?
- benroy, on 08/06/2008, -2/+7Just when I thought that this man couldn't get any more delusional....
Unless he thinks that HE would be better off under bush, which he probably would be.
Being sodomized by an monkey-faced idiot would probably put things into perspective for Mr. McCain. - Dumbledorito, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5"No. If I did, I'd be here all ***** day."
Or have to articulate an actual thought. Tough life you've got there. - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5Sure, I doubt most of McCain's base has passed high school, most likely enjoy making passes at their daughters.
- bullhead2007, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5What bubble do politicians live in that they didn't see the housing bubble and bust coming years ago?
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -1/+6Shocking thing is people actually believe the crap mc cain comes up with, his latest campaign adverts are shocking to the point i actually thought it was a parody the other day when they were on the front page until i realised it was on his official youtube account, the guys going senile, what i really want to know though, is that is the best person the republicans could find, is someone who wasn't quite good enough to beat bush in 2000?? jesus, a damned monkey would be a better choice than both of them!
- elipabst, on 08/06/2008, -1/+6"And yes, Saddam was killing off people like Stalin killed off his countryside."
That was as dumb as the Hitler comparison. Please just stop with the hyperbole. - aussiejan, on 08/06/2008, -1/+6(Bush) 'is one of the worst "leaders" in American History.'
Make that world history. - rz8472, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5I prefer the magical talking goiter.
- EarlOfLade, on 08/06/2008, -1/+6I am not Jewish, but large parts of my family was exterminated by Hitler and to top it off, one of my family members became the worst Gestapo man my home country had seen.
Do I qualify? I can provide citations if you insist.. Oh what the heck, here he is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Oliver_Rinnan - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -1/+6Why are we "under" anybody? I thought it was supposed to be of the people, by the people, and for the people..
Indeed, corporate billions lobby and get what they want. That's the second biggest crime ever. - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5the dow and S&P both show around a 17% to 20% nominal gain over the past 10 years. that does not factor-in inflation of over 30% since then. he probably is economically correct, as productivity and real GDP have increased, but citing a nominal increase in stock prices doesn't prove anything. it fails to take into account the costs of inflation and to add-in the increase in real GDP.
- bhavinp, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5Agreed, he should go back to what he does best.
http://i27.tinypic.com/10i6lx1.jpg - joe8pack, on 08/06/2008, -0/+5McSame apparently doesn't understand the difference between "better off" and "worse off'. Of course if I were feeble minded and tottering off to old age, like John Boy, I'd be spouting the same kind of incoherent babble. McCain lives in a bubble and doesn't even have a clue what a gallon of gas costs, let alone what the lives of ordinary men and women are like.
I'd vote for McCain right after I had a lobotomy, and even then I'd still have my personal reservations about whether what I'd done was the right thing. John McCain so bad, even an idiot would have doubts about voting for him. Retire John, work on that tan, get some golf in and give us some hope you moron. -
