Malkin Quits The O'Reilly Factor
thinkprogress.org — An e-mail written by Michelle Malkin statesthat she has decided to quit appearing on Fox News ’s The O’Reilly Factor. She writes, "I made the decision to quit appearing on the O’Reilly show in response to the poor handling of the Geraldo Rivera matter (the staged “apology” on The Factor was a complete farce)."

- manchu2, on 10/17/2007, -25/+18Please name the alledged lie and/or misinformation.....
- bjornski, on 10/17/2007, -19/+22We don't have the time, nor space, to reference every word she's ever said.
- thundacracka, on 10/28/2007, -11/+13Then just start with one.
- manchu2, on 10/28/2007, -11/+12Yes please...one will do, though 2 or 3 would be better. Hard to show any pattern off of one data point.
Of course, "We don't have the time, nor space, to reference every word she's ever said" is a pretty typical Lefty cop-out. This is completely consistent with the Left's opinion of Iraq: if we don't take down EVERY dictator in the world, we shouldn't take down ANY dictator in the world.- Terr01, on 10/28/2007, -6/+5Uhm... I prefer "He wasn't a threat, we DID get the inspectors back in there, and the Administration was making very dubious promises and going back on other promises to check with the UN first...."
Compare this to Bush's very clear "I vetoed the SCHIP bill because it'll lead to socialized medicine." - manchu2, on 10/28/2007, -2/+2"He wasn't a threat..."
Well, that's an interesting statement, but it pretty much falls flat on its face. Well done!
- Terr01, on 10/28/2007, -6/+5Uhm... I prefer "He wasn't a threat, we DID get the inspectors back in there, and the Administration was making very dubious promises and going back on other promises to check with the UN first...."
- masterm1nd, on 10/28/2007, -9/+14So in other words you cant name one alleged lie and/or misinformation. Why wouldn't you have just not replied back?
- sharpfork, on 10/28/2007, -10/+10Here are two direct quotes from her that are lies:
- After a GOP debate on Faux news, Malkin claimed Ron Paul is part of the 9/11 truth movement:
"Ron Paul really has no business being on stage as a legitimate representative of Republicans, because the 9/11 truth virus is something that infects only a very small proportion of people that would identify themselves as conservative or Republican."
- Malkin falsely claimed Democrats registered accused terrorist to vote- from her column:
"While unhinged Democrats spread fear about the alleged discriminatory disenfranchisement of American citizens, they have supported the indiscriminate enfranchisement of untold numbers of foreign outlaws – including suspected al-Qaida operatives and terrorist sympathizers."
http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ ...
That is just off the top of my head + 15 seconds in google...- manchu2, on 10/28/2007, -6/+7Well, just off the top of my head you have a lousy sense for lies.
1. "Ron Paul really has no business being on stage as a legitimate representative of Republicans..."
This is a statement of opinion on its very face. If it's an opinion, it's not a fact..hence can't be a lie. Wherein your statement does Malkin claim Paul is part of the 9/11 truth movement? She refers to a 9/11 truth virus, and that one is completely consistent with Paul's discussion with the "Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth" and appearance on the Alex Jones show.
2. Falsely claimed Democrats registered accused terrorist to vote? You mean Nuradin Abdi – the suspected shopping mall bomb plotter from Somalia – WASN'T registered to vote in the battleground state of Ohio by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a left-wing activist group? How about convicted al-Qaida agent Iyman Faris, who planned to sabotage the Brooklyn Bridge and had entered the country fraudulently from Pakistan on a student visa? Sami al-Arian, convicted Palestinian Islamic Jihad supporter?
Please state your proof that this claim is a lie. Just saying it doesn't make it so.
Time to use a little more rigor in your Google searches, I guess....

Whatever, I tend to vote republican and even I think Malkin has no place being in front of a camera. She sounds completely unnatural, like those kids that read the morning announcements in grade school. If that's not bad enough she now seems to want to be seen as the Conservative Geraldo... seriously there's no need for the Geraldo we already have. Geraldo was only a block away when John Lennon was shot, why would anyone walk past Geraldo to shoot John Lennon. If I only had a time-machine.

- SwordOfShannara, on 10/17/2007, -17/+15Amen and absolutely! She is a fascist. It's not opinion, you can open a text book and prove that what she says is fascist. I suppose "masterbatermind" thinks fascism is an "opinion" on how things ought to be.
- masterm1nd, on 10/16/2007, -12/+3No, I would be an Anarchist if I though it was even remotely possible for all the governments in the world to dissolve so we wouldn't need a military to protect us from an invasion (because it would happen Mr biggest and most prosperous nation in the world). The ONLY thing I want my government to do protect the people, that's ***** it. You are probably a socialist who wants the government to do EVERYTHING for us. So from my point of view you are extremely wrong and hypocritical.
- manchu2, on 10/17/2007, -10/+10Well, the American Heritage Dictionary defines fascist as: "1) An advocate or adherent of fascism; or 2)A reactionary or dictatorial person. "
Given those definitions, I submit that it is certainly not a fact that she's a fascist. I've never read or heard anything she's said that 1) advocates fascism, 2) adheres to any fascist doctrine, or 3) implies she wishes to rule others as a dictator. If you're basing your "fact" on the definition of fascist as a 'reactionary', which is defined "Characterized by reaction, especially opposition to progress or liberalism; extremely conservative", then you're pretty intellectually dishonest. Equating progress with liberalism is completely self-serving, and declaring extreme conservatism as fascist is an unworkable, vague definition.
BTW: if extreme conservatism = reactionary = fascist, then what is the extreme Left?- ReDoEr, on 10/16/2007, -9/+5a bunch of whiny retards?

Doesn't fit into your 'racist' narrative, does it?- pintomp3, on 10/16/2007, -0/+7the japanese are asian too, *****. and the US government officially apologized for the internment in 1988, saying that it was based on "race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership". while their families were subject to internment, the 442nd regiment fought bravely for the US.

Notice how she won't let him speak when she goes into her rant and then storms off? I don't think she handled it well at all. - bignerd, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2great point... thats exactly how I feel

I'd watch FOX news over all the left-wing suck up news channels out there...- inkswamp, on 10/16/2007, -3/+7I don't watch any televised news. It's all corporate garbage and propaganda from what I can see. Ever since all the cable channels (including the "left-wing" ones) jumped on the swift boat attack bandwagon against John Kerry back in 04, I've come to the conclusion that it's all worthless. If you find that one particular flavor of that crap suits your palate, so be it, but don't try to justify consuming worthless infotainment by putting down other orifices providing it. It's all crap.

The problem with the left is that they depend on emotion instead of logic. If someone disagrees with their point of view, they are automatically fascist, racist, or on Rupert Murdock's payroll.
I think the argument they are referring to was about illegal immigrants that commit crime. If someone is here illegally and they commit a crime they should be deported no questions asked.
On Mexican immigration.... Mexico doesn't need a welfare system, they simply export their problems to the US. I don't think the issue with immigration has anything to do with race, it's an issue of money. Businesses want cheap labour to drive down wages for unskilled workers. Every illegal immigrant that comes into the country and is willing to work for less then an American legally here is harming that worker. The democrats are supposed to be for the little guy but they are unwilling to stand up to the lobby groups. We don't want every poor and uneducated person in the world in the US, that would quickly turn us into a third world country. Being close geographically should not give an immigration advantage to those in Mexico above say refuges from Iraq, or Africa. We have a limited supply of unskilled jobs that need to be filled and those should be filled by Americans, or legal immigrants , they should not have to worry about making a living wage because wages have been driven down by someone from a third world country that is willing to accept a standard of living that no one born in America would tolerate.
Like everyone else that is reasonable I would like for everyone in the world to have the same opportunities that people in America enjoy. That doesn't mean that I'm willing to lower our standard of living, I would rather our government pressure their governments to give them the same standard of living.- r0dzilla, on 10/16/2007, -9/+7Agreed
- bubba9999, on 10/17/2007, -12/+6And you're the spitting image of dumb-assed-nitude for making sweeping categorizations about millions of people based on a few comments by a handful of people. Notice that I didn't call the entire right dumbasses. Just you.
- manchu2, on 10/16/2007, -9/+7And yet he was spot on.... odd how that works, isn't it "Bubba"?
- martingz, on 10/16/2007, -5/+10I too agree - anyone on the right that wants to debate the logic of these issues is flamed. I am amazed at how liberal (call it what you like) these postings are... Is it a crime to want to protect your own people first. When I see good jobs for every intercity man and woman then we can start saving the rest of the world. And why is a position wanting to protect the wages and jobs of Americans a radical idea that is hated.
- jaxcs, on 10/16/2007, -7/+3well, because you don't really want debate.
- martingz, on 10/18/2007, -0/+0Exactly what in my words made you think I didn't want debate ? Ummm... sort of seems that posting to a forum is debating.
- jaxcs, on 10/16/2007, -7/+3well, because you don't really want debate.
- MrDuncan, on 10/16/2007, -5/+1Wow, everything I ever needed to know I learned by reading a 100-page Neal Boortz book!
- haterofps3, on 10/16/2007, -9/+2What gives you the right to say who deserves the a decent standard of living? What have you done that makes you better than a hard working Mexican or Canadian? You have Americans have prospered by exploiting everyone and everything around you! Why should the people you exploit not benefit from advances America has made off the backs of the poor!
- hierophantus, on 11/02/2007, -5/+7"The problem with the left is that they depend on emotion instead of logic."
The problem with you is that you think there is a single thing called "the left." Digg is not "the left." A few comments on this article on Digg are not "the left." It's hardly impressive to claim that "the left" doesn't use logic, when that very over-generalization is itself a logical fallacy.
I don't actually get too exercised about the immigration issue (as a strong supporter in general of the rule of law, I gravitate a bit more toward the conservative point of view than do many of my compatriots on "the left"), but denying that the anti-Mexican-immigration movement has "anything to do with race" is also illogical. You ignore the very obvious reality that economic concerns provide a convenient cover for racial resentment for at least some anti-Mexican-immigration sentiment. And yet your economic arguments by themselves don't add up: why is it that we don't want "every poor and uneducated person outside the US" in our country--because they will take jobs from our equally economically undesirable "poor and uneducated" Americans? If this is purely an economic argument, education and skill being equal between the immigrant and the native, if the native demands less pay, employers make more money, resulting in overall economic gain and a preference for the immigrant--again, purely in economic terms.
Sorry. I guess that wasn't very emotional. Didn't mean to get so out of character from what the gravamen of my political beliefs demands of me.- manchu2, on 10/17/2007, -2/+3"And yet your economic arguments by themselves don't add up: why is it that we don't want "every poor and uneducated person outside the US" in our country--because they will take jobs from our equally economically undesirable "poor and uneducated" Americans? Well, if you're arguing from the perspective of US businesses that rely on cheap labor, you'd be spot on. When you're arguing from the perspective of the US general building contractor who is continuously under-bid by other contractors employing illegal immigrant labor... the problem is working against your economic gain. Now...seeing that you clearly can think rather than emote through this problem... what happens to the general level of wages when the supply of labor is both increased AND comes from an economically depressed region? That's right...down and down farther.
Now, if you throw a fit over my analysis, you'll be right back on track with the demands of the "gravamen" of your political beliefs. - Rich711, on 10/17/2007, -7/+0It wasn't very emotional? You just ranted on and on endlessly about immigration on a repy to a buried comment... You're either emotional or retarded. (and by retarded I mean you're lame not that you don't have the mental capacity to parrot a bunch of stuff you heard about immigration... cause clearly you can do that.)
- manchu2, on 10/17/2007, -2/+3"And yet your economic arguments by themselves don't add up: why is it that we don't want "every poor and uneducated person outside the US" in our country--because they will take jobs from our equally economically undesirable "poor and uneducated" Americans? - Rich711, on 11/02/2007, -4/+1How dare you imply that the stupids' opinion isnt as valid!! This is not only America this is the world wide web, the stupids opinion is not only valid it one of the most sought after voting blocks. Next I suppose youre going to tell me I should know what I'm talking about before call it wrong!! You sound like a nazi, fascist, communist, racist to me, Mr. Deity. If that is your real name. Why dont you just get back in your black helicopter and go back where you came from. You and your fancy book learnings arent wanted here at Digg. Good day, Sir!
- OffPiste, on 10/23/2007, -23/+1She should not be allowed to express her opinions. Jan 2009 can't come soon enough. Once we get Democrats in control of the Presidency and both houses of congress we'll finally be able to quiet these right-wing loons up. Hopefully the wingnuts will be thrown in prison for their offensive speech. The thought of Limbaugh, Malkin, Coulter, et al in a prison cell makes me giddy. VOTE HILLARY 08!!!!!
- deity, on 10/17/2007, -8/+11That's a perfect left wing idiot. I thought you were all for free speech and the first amendment but I guess that's only true when the speech agrees with your point of view.
- inkswamp, on 10/17/2007, -6/+11Oh thanks for that commentary, Mr. Right-wing Stereotype of Liberals. That was so refreshing.
- jetboyterp, on 10/17/2007, -7/+10Silence the opposition! And you lefties call the Repulican's "Nazis"? You're right out of Germany circa 1930's...
- hierophantus, on 10/17/2007, -1/+7That was poorly executed parody, as inkswamp pointed out. When you feel yourself salivating, ask yourself: "Was that too good to be true?"
- mlock2k, on 10/16/2007, -12/+5yeah she will go organize her own fake news propaganda zine somewhere . I vote for her to join black water. They need her great since of reason.

I sincerely believe that her giving birth is child abuse. No baby/child should be subjected to her level of idiocy and hatred.- manchu2, on 10/17/2007, -4/+3That's very likely the dumbest thing on this entire thread.
- mrurc, on 10/17/2007, -4/+4I keep reading about how the left only insult people instead of posting logical content, as well as post solely from emotion, just like you just did. Again. Oh wait, that was ALL you wasn't it?
Just because your right-wing pundits make the same sweeping generalization, personal attack, no-logical-content-just-emotion statements doesn't mean that it is true or that you are not doing it yourself or even that they are not doing it themselves.
Calling something dumb is not an argument. Saying that calling something dumb is not an argument is logical content.
- mrurc, on 10/17/2007, -4/+4I keep reading about how the left only insult people instead of posting logical content, as well as post solely from emotion, just like you just did. Again. Oh wait, that was ALL you wasn't it?

- jellygraph, on 10/16/2007, -9/+2Spit? Is that all? Heck, I'd Bukkake on Malkin.
I feel sorry for Malkin. Unlike Coulter, you can sense she simply has a very confused, angry soul and likely doesn't believe everything she says, but feels the need to express it as some sort of validation feedback psychological mechanism.
And I feel sorry for her because she really cannot understand why everyone hates her.
Coulter, on the other had,... I wouldn't trust her with a baby. El chupacabra! - morningmatters, on 10/17/2007, -8/+8The thing about Malkin is that if her policies were implemented 30 years ago she and most other filipinos could not have immigrated to this country.
- twinklyJesus, on 10/17/2007, -2/+10Very few Filipinos immigrated illegally, if any. What she was talking about was ILLEGAL immigrants. There's a huge difference.
- haterofps3, on 10/23/2007, -8/+8Malkin is a prime example of the fear an loathing that America has for its citizens and the world at large. She does not believe in freedom for all those who seek it. She wants freedom only for those people that are willing to pay. If an immigrant breaks the serious laws deportation should be considered but it will not be the cure for Americas woes.
She is likening them to the jews she is blaming the woes of America on the Immigrants and she needs to stop!- manchu2, on 10/17/2007, -4/+4"Malkin is a prime example of the fear an loathing that America has for its citizens and the world at large. "
