- dgoddard, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I'm a Downsizer, and I attended the debate in person last night. I sent the following thru the form:
"I was inside the debate at UNH-Durham. In fact, I was up at the front -- in the 8th row, just a few seats away from NH State Senator Clegg, who was visible on-camera whenever they focused on the panel.
The applause in the audience for Ron Paul every time he made a point was VERY LOUD. Whatever happened in anyone's poll, I can tell you as an audience member that the actual crowd of real-live people in the audience clearly favored Paul." - nusteve, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8This article gives you a form where you can easily email Sean Hannity. Here is my Letter:
Dear Mr. Hannity,
You misinformed your audience after the September 5th debate on your network. You told your viewers that Ron Paul supporters were rigging the post-debate poll by calling in repeatedly, when in truth the system your network uses does not allow repeat phone calls. The truth is that Ron Paul won the poll fair-and-square, but you were not fair-and-square, let alone "fair and balanced," in your reporting. Please retract your false statements and acknowledge that Ron Paul really did win the poll. Please do so during your next national TV broadcast.
Mr. Hannity, you not only report with bias, you report with lies. How can you continue to accuse Ron Paul's successful numbers on spammers? Have you not been paying attention to the Straw Poll numbers? Ron Paul has won several, and has placed near the top on the rest. At this point, Ron Paul is clearly a Top-tier candidate.
To invent a theory about spammers out of thin air, just because you do not like the results, is a blatant lie. You're dishonoring yourself, and Fox News. - stealthc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Digg this up. Hannity needs to hear from as many as possible. Make him wish he never f*cked with the Paul.
- Terr01, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4"when in truth the system your network uses does not allow repeat phone calls"
That part's not true. A phone network can reject duplicate caller ID numbers, but caller ID is relatively easy to spoof.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Hannity (and use Opera :P ) but on a technical level the "gotcha" you think you've found actually isn't very strong. - ceredron, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3You know what, nusteve? I think I will.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3It's not inaccurate. Just look at how much they spam digg. It seems to me that you are actually the one here being narrow minded.
I'm not saying that every Ron Paul supporter is a raving lunatic, but an unsually large number of them are and to deny that would be either disingenuous or ignorant. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/september2007/060907_hannity_lies.htm
Interesting. Look at the first video in that "article" from Prisonplanet. Still, both of them are "guilty". - eatkitten, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2From the letter-
My personal comment to you:
We live in America, Mr. Hannity, where the people have a voice. You're fortunate enough to be in a position to inform the people of the news, affecting their opinions and help them form that very voice. You work for a news station that touts the slogan "Fair and Balanced." After watching your performance on and after the debate, all I have to say is- Do your job.
Everyone makes mistakes, so perhaps you were actually undereducated or misinformed of the voting rules and truly thought it was possible for "the fringe" Paul supporters to spam your station's poll. If so, I, and the rest of the viewers would gladly accept a well deserved apology.
You're surely entitled to your own political opinion, but your openly negative attitude toward such a "fringe" candidate on the debate was noticed. Perhaps you've been taking your cues from Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter, and shock value weighs heavier on you than your duty to be educated, fair and informed.
I am not one of the "fringe" voters you mentioned, Mr. Hannity. I am a registered Republican who wants change. As I calmly watched your performance on the debate, it was you, not the Ron Paul supporters, not Ron Paul himself who looked looked angry and scared. Perhaps "on the fringe" might be the best way to describe. You were just as bad as Giuliani, giggling when questions were posed to Ron Paul. You acted like a bunch of kindergarteners. I lost a lot of respect for you, Mr. Hannity, and I expect an apology for misleading your viewers. - ATHEISTinHELL, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I found this transcript at foxnews.com.
"SEAN HANNITY, CO-HOST: All right, it is time now for the final results from our text messaging poll.
And in first tonight, Ron Paul. He is having all those 3 percent of people call in, I'm sure. He got 33...
ALAN COLMES, CO-HOST: Maybe he just did very well.
HANNITY: He got 33 percent. Well, it happens. Anyway, in second place tonight, Mike Huckabee getting 18 percent. And taking the third spot is Rudy Giuliani getting 15 percent.
Now I want to give you a quick — oh, by the way, fourth place is John McCain with 14 percent and Mitt Romney with 12 percent tonight."

Alan actually defended him. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2My friend, generalizing Paul fans as "rabid" is inaccurate. Your equating [us/them] as being bigoted and narrow-minded.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Nothing against the submission's link, but I get worried when dropping really personal information into someones blog. You can also write a general comment to Hannity at his website: http://www.hannity.com/contactus.asp So if you're skeptical as I am, at least hit up this link and write in.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3and that is inaccurate how????
- Terr01, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3P.S.: I heard someone claim they made the "fake votes" interpretation based on a continual tie-up of their phone bank with Ron Paul votes. (Looking for details.) If all of the votes (only for a specific choice) come in a big constant surge in a small slice of time, that is decent evidence towards an automated exploit.
- venir, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1You can count my letter as sent. Thanks for posting this.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2True, Colmes made the claim and Hannity agreed... I'm going to write both of them then.
"Also consider the fact that only Ron Paul fans are this ***** rabid, most primary voters simply don't care enough to whip their cellphones out and pay 33 cents to send a text message."
Your comment is still buried as inaccurate. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Contact Alan Colmes -- http://www.alan.com/contact/contact.htm
(and tell him what you're telling Hannity) - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1For some reason an error follows the send.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3This was submitted earlier today, complete with a Youtube link. Colmes was the one who said it, and Sean Hannity merely agreed with him. Sadly, the submission that actually linked to the video also claimed that Hannity is the one who "lied".
I still say that the Ronbots almost surely gamed it, likely using their friends and families' lines to cast multiple votes. Also consider the fact that only Ron Paul fans are this ***** rabid, most primary voters simply don't care enough to whip their cellphones out and pay 33 cents to send a text message.
Buried as inaccurate.
