- booksnmore4you, on 03/11/2009, -21/+75Rush Limbaugh is the true leader of the Republican Party.
- kareemachan, on 03/11/2009, -16/+64No surprise...
- littlebylittle, on 03/11/2009, -25/+71Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, O'Reilly, Coulter, and all the rest of this sad group are what's wrong with this country. STOP listening to them. Stop listening to their radio shows. Stop buying their books. Give them no more of your money.
- JamesK, on 03/11/2009, -27/+67Rush for prez! Free oxycontin for everyone!
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -18/+43What does it matter? Is he running for public office?
This is all an attempt to draw attention away from the administration so that no one realizes that they are screwing the ***** out of us and the economy. - TheJimid, on 03/11/2009, -18/+40I guess this poll was 26% evangelical.
- inactive, on 03/11/2009, -26/+45flush rush!!!
- inactive, on 03/11/2009, -18/+33I can't imagine why ANYONE would view Rush Limpdick in a negative light!
GOSH!
The one little problem I have with this poll is that it was conducted by Democracy Corps, a Democratic polling firm. I think the results are accurate, but the credibility is somewhat diminished because it comes from a biased source. - inactive, on 03/12/2009, -5/+19I find myself more interested in his show just because of all this coverage
- gfryesc, on 03/12/2009, -4/+18yeah, I wish we would go back to being skeptical of power. No one seems to hold obama accountable for his many broken promises, lately regarding earmarks in his budget bills.
- johnn11238, on 03/12/2009, -5/+17Well...
He's not an elected official so...
WHO THE ***** CARES???!!! - angryfirelord, on 03/12/2009, -14/+25C'mon digg, stop linking HuffPoo articles. They only do it to increase their ad revenue and the only "original content" they ever put out is in blog posts. Please use the original source: http://www.democracycorps.com/strategy/2009/03/rus ...
- bobfoster, on 03/12/2009, -8/+19This is more fun than just ignoring him.
- seltaeb4, on 03/12/2009, -3/+14WND: Home of the Crazed Birthers...
- WasabiBomb, on 03/12/2009, -4/+13Come back when there's proof.
Hell, come back when the only person making the claim can even pass a polygraph test. - inactive, on 03/12/2009, -3/+11Last I checked, Obama's not trying to raise my taxes, as I don't make 250,000/year. As such, you have no point.
- Ratteler, on 03/12/2009, -6/+14Rush is the living embodiment of the Republican Party.
Fat, Crazy, Irrelevant, Wrong in every opinion, with delusions of grandeur.
Rush is at the same time Lead Rat and Pied Piper leading his fellow rats to the river to drown.
Play on Rush. - SpinningHead, on 03/12/2009, -1/+8Yeah, poor Rush. Obama tries weed and coke in college=bad. Bush is a coke head and alcoholic in his 40s = youthful indiscretion. Rush uses his latino maid to go score drugs for him = victim
Conservative logic at its finest...aka cognitive dissonance - akchrs, on 03/12/2009, -34/+41Majority of Voters View Huffingtonpost Negatively.
- SpinningHead, on 03/12/2009, -2/+8You must be a Rush listener since you're debating a point that nobody made.
- Barackalypse, on 03/12/2009, -6/+12Meanwhile, the economy lies in shambles and the largest Federal budget in the history of the world needs dealing with, but oh boy, some people don't like a radio talk show host (I heard he's really the leader of the GOP, even though they're irrelevant).
- SpinningHead, on 03/12/2009, -1/+7Have you ever seen the scapegoating propaganda at the holocaust museum? Its strikingly similar to what Rush does.
Universal education is the most corroding and disintegrating poison that liberalism has ever invented for its own destruction. - Hitler
"We must study this vile liberal technique of emptying garbage pails full of the vilest slanders and defamations from hundreds and hundreds of sources at once, suddenly and as if by magic, on the clean garments of honorable men, if we are fully to appreciate the entire menace represented by these scoundrels of the press." - Hitler
"Hence it is that at the present time the liberal is the great agitator for the complete destruction of Germany. Whenever we read of attacks against Germany taking place in any part of the world the liberal is always the instigator." Hitler - porkins21, on 03/12/2009, -5/+11I'm surprised at the way a lot of you think. You act as if he is the root cause of conservative beliefs. Like he is some sort of master republican werewolf you must kill to free all the people he's bitten and turn them back into democrats.
Really, you guys have it all backwards though: the people created him, he didn't create the people. Human beings like to see their own beliefs shared and reinforced by large numbers of others because it gives their beliefs power and a strong voice. Take away Rush, someone else will replace him.
I think that 90% of us would agree that our individual political/moral/religious beliefs are more a result of our parents/family, not some guy on the radio.
p.s. I have to agree when people say this is just media diversion tactic. Why attack and demonize him now of all times when he has been doing this for over 20 years? Ask yourselves that. - inactive, on 03/12/2009, -0/+6So you're giving Rush a free pass on not being man enough to fight an addiction? I thought Rush was supposed to be the "bad ass straight talking tough guy" of the Republican Party? Why is it, then, that he wasn't tough enough to stop himself from being addicted to a prescription drug?
Despite being a "liberal pussy", Obama seems to be kicking his ass at avoiding or dropping abusive habits. I mean, ***** man, Obama is quitting smoking while being the PRESIDENT and Rush is just a talk show host. If Obama's not playing the role of the victim when the ***** should Rush be able to? - DangerCollie, on 03/12/2009, -3/+8Just because a poll has a partisan source doesn't always mean it's biased. If I'm a party operative, I need good data, real data, not preaching from the choir.
Democrats don't need to smear Limbaugh, he does a good job of that all by himself. Keeping him out front of the Republican party is an ongoing disaster. I'd be willing to bet the numbers hold up.
I'm watching an interview with Meghan McCain. Now there's a Republican you should have out front as one of the new faces in the party. She's bright, reasonable, and willing to have a conversation that doesn't end with calling someone a Nazi. - Omega037, on 03/12/2009, -3/+8He isn't a politician or running for election, so it isn't his interest to be popular with everyone. What is important to him is to be popular with conservatives and/or Republicans, not Democrats or even Independents. In his mind, if Dems viewed him well, he would be doing something wrong.
He is for Republicans, and for those people, he has gotten VERY popular and is helping to bring the party back together, regardless of whether or not non-Republicans like how he is healing it. - diggerpleez, on 03/12/2009, -5/+10Majority of diggers have a hard on for Limbaugh stories lately.
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -1/+6Ratteler, you're wrong. The people did create Rush, but the problem is that the people who created the demand for him are the same people indoctrinating their kids into his ***** beliefs. My grandparents and parents have always been crazy conservative Christians that are willing to take their anti-gay, anti-abortion beliefs to the grave. FOX News and church were commonplace in my family, and I got lucky enough that through some form of education (teachers that gave a ***** about me and about science) and access to differing opinions I was able to break free of that nonsense, but how many kids do?
Tons of them still grow up believing that evolution is just a theory without much credibility, and that Jesus truly hates homosexuals. How many grow up with this morphed version of Christianity where it's okay to be racist and homophobic? How many grow up thinking that Jesus wants them to be rich rather than be poor and meek? How many claim to be Christians but don't believe in giving a bum a cent of their money and instead giving 10% of the their income to a church that's planning to build an addition to their already glamorous building?
He's absolutely right - for most people, their religion and moral/political beliefs are because of their parents. Little white kids growing up in Christian homes don't become Muslims, and they sure as hell don't grow up to worship Ra or Zeus. Many of them are indoctrinated before they're even given a chance to learn critical thinking. If you want to fix the problem, you have got to force our public education system to teach facts and not bend to the will of the fringe right. If you teach kids to objectively and tactfully question everything they hear and see, then you won't have to worry about what someone like Rush Limbaugh preaches. - JamesK, on 03/12/2009, -3/+8Sourcing information from 1 dubious source and calling it proof is moronic.
Yellowcake from Niger or any of the other single sourced claims the Bushes made during the run up to the Iraq war might have been avoided if the GOP didn't cherry pick from the garbage. - inactive, on 03/12/2009, -3/+7There ya go, dugg you down for good measure. I am not on a bury crew but I didn't want you to feel bad.
- LonelyTylenoL, on 03/12/2009, -2/+6Just adding he makes about $33million dollars a year.
He's definitely not any kind of Democrat. Seriously, what are you smokin', and why aren't you sharing.
Just crazy, opinionated, and money hungry. - QuestionQQQQ, on 03/12/2009, -9/+13Huffington is propaganda and Lies and here is some more proof
http://digg.com/politics/Huffington_Post_s_Phony_F ...
Huffington makes tons of money of posting lies and then submitting the page to digg. They are using your IP Address and time to make tons of cash. It does not matter if you do not click on there banners because they can get paid to display them - jxfallout, on 03/12/2009, -1/+5Your comment is offensive to posts everywhere!
- SpinningHead, on 03/12/2009, -2/+6For a smart guy, he never learned to fact-check.
If youre referring to his success, many of the most successful people have IQs just below or about average. The reason (and one of the identifiers of gifted children) is that, in most cases, as IQ rises, so does ones sense of justice regarding others. The lower IQ tends to be associated with a less-developed sense of ethics. See also Bill O'Reilly. - ApokalypseNow, on 03/12/2009, -1/+5FTW indeed - the Democratic win.
- maz2331, on 03/12/2009, -1/+5You may disagree with the man, but he is far from stupid.
- victorsage, on 03/12/2009, -8/+12Since 71 to 83 percent of the voters in the US have such a negative view of Limbaugh (according to this poll), why is this news such a big deal here on Digg? It makes me wonder if even half of the people polled by "Democracy Corps" or digging this article have ever listened to his show. It's on from 11am to 2pm if anyone is interested in forming their own opinion of the guy instead of reacting to sound bites.
http://streamingradioguide.com/radio-show.php?show ... - mogebier, on 03/12/2009, -3/+7I think the popular term is "Obamatards" :)
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -6/+10I'd wager that a Republican polling firm could easily demonstrate that at least 45% of 'Voters' think negatively of the Huff.
- stormkrow, on 03/12/2009, -2/+5Blunders?
What blunders??
- Qumahlin, on 03/12/2009, -5/+8Actually the thing about limbaugh is that he isn't dumb. He understands what people react to and the power he wields in their minds. The idiots are the people who actually listen to them, Rush will say whatever keeps the listeners listening.
I mean the guys painkiller addiction tells you he obviously hates himself. So hating everyone else and getting paid to do it is just pure gold - banderwocky, on 03/12/2009, -1/+4Rush doesn't appeal to the center. This is probably why the Right is loosing more ground all the time.
- scottknick, on 03/11/2009, -23/+26This is what makes him the ideal leader of the Republican Party.
- anstice85, on 03/12/2009, -3/+6Hint: Most polls don't contact every single person in America; they poll a nice sampling of people.
- purplesawdust, on 03/12/2009, -15/+18Rush is a ***** talk radio host. Why does anyone on digg care about him? He is the new Bush to you people.
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -2/+5Please cite a credible, reliable, NEWS organization source and the legislation or STFU!
- wjwallis, on 03/12/2009, -7/+10 Limbaugh is a genius. By being controversial he is once again at the top of the ratings!
- jofwooster, on 03/12/2009, -0/+3"My 33% approval rating in the latest McClatchy poll is higher than that of Congress, lawyers, or Hollywood -- and I have achieved it without pandering to anybody and without giving away your money. Can you imagine what my approval number would be if I had the power to take your money and give it away to other people? Why, I'd be over 50%, too!" -Rush Limbaugh
- CyberSally, on 03/12/2009, -3/+6Surprise!
