- kylevonolbert, on 12/11/2007, -44/+439Sorry, when I submitted this I accidentally included that pic of some random guy... Geez Digg Images, I'd think you'd know who Ron Paul is!!!
Viva la Revolution! Viva Ron Paul! - hankbeasley, on 04/22/2009, -22/+205Yep, can't wait till the 16th.
- Minarchian, on 12/11/2007, -12/+161The real issue with Old Media isn't that Paul doesn't get enough attention, really. It's more to do with the fact that Old Media shows bias of one candidate over another. It becomes painfully clear that Old Media has an agenda and for those candidates that don't fit that agenda they ignore. For if they actually gave more equal time to all the candidates the Paulites wouldn't have anything to bitch about in the first place.
Equal treatment = equal time. They need to remember what their purpose is. That is to show the stands of the candidates and let the People decide who is relevant or not. The days of Old Media picking and choosing which candidates are the most viable are over and they need to get the message. - OnGard4Liberty, on 12/11/2007, -25/+115"I am a friend of the Free State Project. Check it out...and if you like it, join and continue the effort!" -- Rep. Ron Paul

- jamesrdorn, on 12/11/2007, -5/+84Oh, that's no "random guy", that's Don Frederick, and he has served as an editor helping guide coverage of every presidential election since 1984. He is a third-generation Washingtonian, so watching the political world comes naturally to him... duhh...
- babcat, on 12/11/2007, -31/+103We have LESS THAN ONE WEEK LEFT before the Tea Party of 2007 on Dec. 16th!
http://www.teaparty07.com
That's right, less than ONE WEEK!
This means we need to get ON THE BALL and have an all out PUSH to spread the word about the Tea Party of 2007! We need to remind current supporters that the Tea Party is IMMINENT, introduce those who are not yet supporters to the Tea Party of 2007, and urge EVERYONE to donate!
There are COUNTLESS ways to spread the word about the Tea Party!
For example....
You could send out a Facebook, Myspace, Digg, or Youtube alert/message to all of your online friends urging them to support the Tea Party!
You could make a post on another forum, email list, or message board you participate on letting them know about the Tea Party!
You could make several calls or even visits to friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers, or other real-life individuals encouraging them to support the Tea Party!
You could send a message to your MEETUP group reminding everyone to PARTICIPATE and go ALL OUT for the Tea Party of 2007!
Additionally, it's VITALLY important that we ALL use this week to find ways to INCREASE the amount we will donate on Dec. 16th! If we all ACTIVELY WORK towards finding reasons we can go ABOVE AND BEYOND the Tea Party of 2007 can be more successful than our wildest dreams!
Can we decide to work some over-time to support the Tea Party of 2007? What about selling some item of value? Is eating at home for a few weeks instead of eating out a possibility? How about doing the UNTHINKABLE and dipping into that savings account, 401K, or retirement account?
Imagine a world where our FREEDOMS have been restored, a world where the INCOME TAX has been abolished and replaced with NOTHING, a world in which the government stays OUT of our lives, and a world where LIBERTY is a word that really MEANS SOMETHING!
If we all UNITE together in support of the Tea Party we can STUN THE WORLD and prove RON PAUL CAN WIN!
Have you done all of the following?
( ) I have sent messages and alerts to all my Facebook, Myspace, Digg, Youtube, and other social networking friends and associates telling them about the Tea Party!
( ) I have mentioned the Tea Party of 2007 on every other message board and forum I participate on and have encouraged them to donate!
( ) I have told every person in my immediate and extended family about the Tea Party of 2007 and have encouraged them to make a donation!
( ) I have told my all of my real-life friends and associates about the Tea Party of 2007 and encouraged them to make a donation!
( ) I have told my neighbors or room mates about the Tea Party and encouraged them to make a donation!
( ) I have sent a message to each person in my Meetup group and encouraged them to support the Tea Party, spread the word about the Tea Party, and to find ways to increase the size of their personal donations!
( ) I have and will continue to make every reasonable effort to find ways to increase the amount of my personal donation to the Tea Party to help reach the goal of ten million dollars. This may include working extra hours, cutting non-essential personal expenditures, selling items of value, or raising funds in some other (legal and ethical) way! - georgemason01, on 12/11/2007, -15/+86Interesting how Ron Paul stories are always reserved for the blogs section.
- NoStoppingUs, on 12/11/2007, -18/+83i cant stand ron paul, nor can i stand any of his supporters, but man do i ***** admire you guys for going balls to the wall. i like a number of things ron paul supports, but i don't like his approach. you guys have single handedly made this race 10 times more interesting. what happens if paul places third in iowa? or second, or even first? as much as I cant stand you guys, keep up the good work. at the very least, you're changing the minds of many who think one person can't make a difference.
- kaelyiesta, on 12/11/2007, -3/+65His eyes follow me no matter where I move...
- hinchb, on 12/11/2007, -7/+67He could've written the article with a less pejorative tone. Calling him old man, saying he's a libertarian and going to 'snatch' the nod away from other people, trying to discredit him in the polls.
- Navicerts, on 12/11/2007, -7/+66This guy seems to be suggesting that Ron Paul was a "nobody", and the media payed little attention because of that. Now he is suggesting that Ron Paul is a "somebody", so the media is paying attention and all the "conspiracy theories" about biased coverage were false. I find his viewpoint very obtuse. His links to internet BLOGS, 1 LA Times blog, and 2 LA Times articles do nothing to prove fair coverage across the main news networks.
OK sure he works at LA Times, but he is acting as if the LA Times is the de-facto standard for judging how a candidate is treated on a national level. He thinks he is more important than he really is. - sHockz, on 12/11/2007, -8/+61He is anti Ron Paul, its blatantly obvious. But what you can also see, if you timeline his articles on RP, is that he is slowly starting to believe. Its happening. Hold on to your hats kids, its gonna be a WICKED wild ride from here.
- JohnFive, on 12/11/2007, -7/+56Ron Paul has won more debates than any other candidate, that is according to the very polls of the networks that have hosted the debates. Yet those same networks hide, deny or remove the poll results. This isn't "conspiracy talk" this is fact.
He has more straw poll wins too, than any other candidate. Recently a straw poll in San Francisco that was obviously slanted to Fred Thompson was shut down because it was evident Ron Paul was going to win it. Again, fact.
Why is it so odd that people want liberty, an honest President and fiscal responsibility?
I could go on and on about why once most people that have actually read what Ron Paul's message is they're convinced he's their candidate.
Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate (rep or dem) that understand the dangers of the Federal Reserve and how it causes inflation by printing money from thin air causing the citizens to issue T-bills to support the created money. We need to save our grandchildren from paying for treasury bills we issue to prop up the markets. Does anyone realize that the Federal Reserve is a privately held consortium and that any money it releases to " curb market jitters over sub-prime woes" is a tax on unborn children who will be paying the interest on the debt we have accrued. - FriskDown, on 12/11/2007, -17/+65I got the impression that this article is anti-Ron Paul. The author, Andrew Malcolm is the same asswipe that wrote this: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2007/11 ... .
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/LA_Times_A_shock ... - jamesrdorn, on 12/11/2007, -5/+40it was a joke, glad you got it.
- stephbangm, on 12/11/2007, -10/+43They'll be even more scared when we assault them with delegates! Remember, we have to become delegates to get Ron Paul the GOP nomination; As delegates, we'll be picking the GOP nominee just like the electors in the electoral college pick the President; Delegates determine and decide who the GOP nominee is---it's that critical!
Become a Delegate or Ron Paul will NOT be President

= - skeen07, on 12/11/2007, -4/+37I'm from England and I can't wait for the 16th! (And not just because it's to celebrate a tea party. ;)) I wonder how much will be raised - can't wait to find out.
- stephbangm, on 12/11/2007, -7/+38If the majority of Ron Paul supporters actually vote in the Primaries, we would most likely win. Even if only 5-10% of the public support Ron Paul like the official polls say, only about 5-10% of the population vote in the Republican Primary! That's why it's critical that we have to work hard right now. Just a few people could make or break this election!
- bariswheel, on 12/11/2007, -16/+46Every little bit counts. If you don't have any money at all, still, at least donate $10, every bit will make a difference. When this day makes history, you can always tell your grandchildren that you were a part of it.
- pkonink, on 12/11/2007, -2/+30Maybe the Ron Paul campaign will be to the Internet what the Kennedy-Nixon debate in 1960 was to television.
- Japhthor, on 12/11/2007, -8/+36A cult? Valuing liberty and the United States' Constitution is a cult? Who knew?
- Japhthor, on 12/11/2007, -2/+29The upcoming election will prove whether your statement is true. I suspect the sheeple will happily let the Old Media pick their candidates for them. I pray that you're right. Time will tell.
- 3tcp, on 12/11/2007, -2/+29You don't have to be a fan of Ron Paul to recognize that the nature and tone of his campaign is a huge news story. It may very well may be the most significant thing to come out of this election.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -5/+30Let's not forget that the current Republican frontrunner (Huckabee, who is a complete nutbag) was polling at 5% a few months ago. Paul is at 6%, and is the only other Republican candidate to see an INCREASE in his support since last month.
- Phil8, on 12/11/2007, -4/+29And he could deliver the baby himself.
- Farmgal123, on 12/11/2007, -6/+30No, we read every word and even added our own comments to Malcolm's blog post at LATImes.
We dugg it not because we thought it was pro-Ron Paul, but because it is evidence that the old media we continue to rag about is starting to pay attention to the very real support Paul has. Malcolm's sarcastic tone doesn't matter. The fact that MSM is starting to realize that their grip on the eyes and ears of Americans is weakening DOES matter. - Metalmoon, on 12/11/2007, -3/+25i'm cashing in all my change to donate... hopefully it'll be like a hundred bucks
- MacEnvy, on 12/11/2007, -6/+27God dammit, will you people stop urging foreign nationals to commit election fraud? Even if it was a joke, the last thing you want is for someone to take it seriously, donate to RP, and get the campaign in a crapload of trouble. For the last time, non-green-card-holding foreign nationals are barred by FEC regulations from donating to federal campaigns. You really don't want RP to have to deal with the fallout from this, believe me.
- DooM, on 12/11/2007, -0/+21I have a mint Don Frederick rookie card. His first year editing stats were AMAZING!
- dinostabOMG, on 12/11/2007, -1/+21I didn't realize that. Sorry - nevermind. I believe I have heard about foreign nationals contributing to necon campaigns (especially the Saudis) but I guess they must be using loopholes galore. I suppose I should have assumed that this isn't something that the little guy can do.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -9/+29On Dec 16th, George Agdgdgwngo from Nigeria will transfer the monies into Ron Paul's bank account.
- kymike, on 12/11/2007, -5/+24Thank you LA Times and ABC! All RP supporters should use abcnews.com and latimes.com, whenever possible, and please click on any relevant advertisements (but only if they interest you - we don't want to be accused of click fraud) in any RP-related articles. Let them make some money promoting Ron Paul, and that will hopefully lead to even more coverage.
- AlexGrant, on 12/11/2007, -4/+21What's your "adjenda" here? He says sates get to choose on abortion rights. Maybe it'll be legal in california, and not so in ohio. You get to choose.
With a stronger economy and people saving more on taxes, you don't think jobs will be created? You're stuck in a 1 dimensional world friend. - madcat033, on 12/11/2007, -1/+17I'm a native New Hampshire resident and I like libertarians.
Wait, you DO know that one of the reasons they picked New Hampshire is because it's one of the most libertarian states to begin with? Our motto is "live free or die." It says that on our license plates too. And, we are the ONLY state that doesn't require seatbelts for people over 18. - 4040, on 12/11/2007, -0/+16Oh, Don Frederick? What an amazing man. A graduate of Northwestern University, he was a reporter for newspapers in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas before joining the (now-defunct) Los Angeles Herald Examiner in 1983. Hired by The Times in 1989, he has worked in its Washington bureau since 1996 — a perch providing him a close-up view of the impeachment of President Clinton, the government's response to 9/11 and the day-to-day wrangling of the two major parties.
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -0/+16Your words are heard. The deal here isnt so much about Ron, its about how our government is really owned by the media. How the big engines (Repub/Dem) are out of control. We realize that Ron will have a heck of a time doing everything he wants to do, but the fact is, we can do one of two things - accept politics and government as-is forever and ever, or CHANGE. Sometimes a radical view is needed in order to step away from the status quo. We need to ask ourselves WHY we have to do certain things... and if the answer is "We've always done it that way"... then its time to get radical and make some change. God forbid - if Ron actually wins the election, you can at least feel confident once again in America's ability to take back our government.
- NJank, on 12/11/2007, -2/+18you mistakenly use the word believe. I think what you meant to say was that he is starting to sense a growing movement and wanting a shot at riding that bandwagon. The coverage is good, but make no mistake, he'd do the same if any other candidate were in a similar situation.
- wstrucke, on 12/11/2007, -5/+21Who are you, Fox News??
- RonBurgundy76, on 12/11/2007, -0/+16Hell, I didn't have to agree with him to digg his honesty.
- mythicflux, on 12/11/2007, -1/+16I for one like WCC's no cake platform. The cake is a lie!
- ScottoGato, on 12/11/2007, -2/+17"real polls" don't mean *****. Straw polls don't mean *****. How about we find out at election time, when the real votes count.
- nakani, on 12/11/2007, -1/+16Only because mainstream media has caused such an imbalance that you are FORCED to go online to get news about his campaign.
- unyuzyall, on 12/11/2007, -7/+22I really like Ron Paul's platform and gave some money to his campaign, but really, he's been around 5-6% nationally, and is the 5th place candidate in almost all states according to the polls. So, either there is a nationwide conspiracy involving thousands of members of the media or, um, he really is polling in 5h place and really only has a chance if two candidates go down in flames (which is entirely possible, ex. Huckabee's AID's stance.)
- betterth, on 12/11/2007, -2/+16Why hate?
- jeffiek, on 12/11/2007, -4/+17When WWII ended there was a big concern about the economy absorbing all returning soldiers.
The concern was unfounded. Things went fine.
Just think, all those ex-government employees could be contributing to society instead of sucking it dry.
(Yes, some of what some of them do is actually useful. They would just do it in the private sector.) - inactive, on 12/11/2007, -0/+13"he is unrealistic with a lot of his goals and ideas. for example, as much as i would love a foreign policy of non-intervention, look around you. who is going to stand up to people that need to be stood up for? what happens if mahmoud akkhsdfksadfnuaiad starts attacking our allies?"
While I agree with you about allies, you have to understand the dire straights the US is in economically, governmentally, and corruption wise. We simply can't worry about others before we worry about ourselves. We have literally sold our guts out to foreigners while handing over control over our own money to private banks who then control the Inflation Tax (Tax without Representation) which has gotten us into the situation we are in.
We have to save America first, or those other countries can't be saved. It's that simple. America is rotting out from the inside, and our doctors are playing pokemon while our instruments are in countries all over the world but yet our borders flood in immigrants.
It's time to Prioritize. Government is bloated and rotten at the core. Ron Paul wants to take the scalpel to it. - Bridea, on 12/11/2007, -4/+16ABC's John Stossel interviews Ron Paul: http://www.abcnews.go.com/2020/Stossel/story?id=39 ...
- inactive, on 12/11/2007, -24/+36Ron Paul is so Awesome! Does he donate to sperm banks?
- MikeFallopian, on 12/11/2007, -11/+23That's a great checklist for getting everyone you know to hate your guts.
