Mainstream Media continues blackout of Pentagon Propaganda
fair.org — Two weeks after a New York Times story (4/20/08) revealed a Pentagon propaganda campaign that had been feeding talking points to TV military analysts, many of whom also had ties to military contractors, the cable and broadcast networks that employed these analysts have almost entirely failed to report this crucial news story.

- laterthandawn, on 05/07/2008, -2/+3They're never going to break that story in a big way. That would be the equivalent of tattling on themselves. I mean, sure, in a perfect world the "free press" would feel foolish and used by big government and the corporations that run government in this situation...they might even apologize to the American people for misleading them...but nope -- we've been so duped into the idea that deregulation = freedom (when in reality it means "once we all owned this together as a community, and now only those really rich dudes own it") that, quite unfortunately, those corporations that run big government also run the press/the media (so, in effect, they ARE being used by said govt/corps...that's the point!).
We're *****, kids. The mainstream media informs every facet of our identities -- they've propped up every strawman/woman we have (and that includes Obama -- sorry). Very few get through the filter undamaged unless they give to the corporate interests.
It's sad. Even the content of blogs and "personal" media are horribly effected, because we all rely so heavily on the source information that's screened through that filter.
