- stonedslacker, on 10/16/2009, -34/+455Reality has a well known liberal bias.
- yosemite610, on 10/16/2009, -20/+355I love Rachel, damn she has some grit. It's a relief to finally hear someone in media saying what she did about profiting from fear-mongering, directly to his face.
- einrobstein, on 10/16/2009, -21/+332Maddow has the biggest balls in the news game.
- Yahn, on 10/16/2009, -5/+182Part two:
"You and the folks who do what you do are a parasite, who gets fat on American fears." - pandawa, on 10/16/2009, -17/+190Dear Ms. Maddow
Keep owning corporate lap dogs.
Sincerely
pandawa - Slashered, on 10/16/2009, -15/+171Part two: http://www.dailykostv.com/w/002260/index.html
- appleseed1234, on 10/16/2009, -18/+136I couldn't finish listening to that guy spew his *****. Absolutely sickening.
- wwwonka, on 10/16/2009, -18/+133and let the fools of the right wing begin their negative and hateful comments about her being a lesbian in 3...2...1...
- theghoul, on 10/16/2009, -12/+117Unfortunately many Americans are too stupid to see they are being fed ***** (fox news viewers, looking at you). It seems like the loudest and most flamboyant communication is seen as truth rather than reason and facts.
Its a sad state of affairs. - flamincheney, on 10/16/2009, -20/+123What an unethical piece of ***** this guy is.
- lexpattison, on 10/16/2009, -8/+94Yeah - watch out for the hordes of "grassroot" operatives to overrun this post.
- obsessedglobe, on 10/16/2009, -4/+87She really didn't hold back during the interview, and it was refreshing. I don't watch news(aka. propaganda) anymore, but I will probably go back to MSNBC to check out her interviews and see if this interview is representative of her style.
- mikepictor, on 10/16/2009, -1/+73Repubs, take note.
This is how you interview someone you are not politically aligned with.
1) Set up the interview, do not lie
2) Give your guest a chance to correct any mistakes
3) Let them talk
4) Hold them accountable for what they say.
Repeat 3 and 4 as needed.
Someone go tell Bill O'Reilly - mcaaronice, on 10/16/2009, -4/+74Make sure you watch Part 2. She really pulverizes him near the end. It's pretty fantastic.
- WraTH017, on 10/16/2009, -5/+71... And Sarah Palin was the real winner in the 2008 election, right?
- wonnk13, on 10/16/2009, -17/+82the guy is a freakin idiot. Good people better rise up!
- Charrion, on 10/16/2009, -5/+67Maybe we need a Rachel Maddow and Jon Stewart tag team on some of these fools.
- flamincheney, on 10/16/2009, -5/+66I like how this guy claims that no part of his current moral/ethical constitution is based on past behavior, when Maddow is clearly showing that the guy is amoral and answers to nothing other than money- ethics be damned.
At the same time she spouts facts, and he hides behind rhetoric. Nothing new there. - pandawa, on 10/16/2009, -12/+73facetious fail
- flamincheney, on 10/16/2009, -5/+63How is what he is lobbying for promoting financial prosperity to anyone outside the insurance industry? Or those, like he, who are lining their pockets with special interest dollars?
- diggbigwig, on 10/16/2009, -5/+61Lesbians are hot. Even liberal ones.
- lolerskate, on 10/16/2009, -12/+66As opposed to you the only bearer of truth in the world, with the gospel of Alex Jones against those NWO lizardmen, preach on my boy! Preach on!
- zsavior, on 10/16/2009, -7/+61I saw that this last night it was so freaking Awesome I want to carry her babies so she is never slowed down. They showed the commercial and the man continued to lie. Then when he made it personal between them she said "Your are a Parasite getting fat off of fears and lies in our society" he had nothing. It is like somebody tells them Even in the face of truth lie, lie and lie some more. It's Grassroots but he gets paid thousands to do it, by large corporations.
My favorite part is the 5yr old type comebacks they give. You only pick on Coke you don't say anything about X personal we find liberal in that case it was George Soros, as if that proves anything. In the past the man worked with people who went to jail, and his response is"you take one example out of my career and use it against me" ;we do that all the time to people we call Criminals. We usually call it using evidence and proof to support facts made against them and their actions, it is like that idea was alien to Tim Phillips.
This is the mind of the powerful they feel they are allowed to do anything if you can't directly tie them to the gun. Even when you do they feel it is wrong to point out their disgusting acts if they aren't doing it at that moment. With that sort of thinking we should just let pedophiles baby sit toddlers as soon as they get out of Jail, I mean we haven't caught them touching kids that was just one moment in their life. She destroys this man and he keeps smiling through it cause he knows he is backed, by cash and lies. - birch25, on 10/16/2009, -3/+56Kudos for Maddow for letting things get uncomfortable. Most "journalists" back off way too easily.
- BrewBeau, on 10/16/2009, -5/+58Aren't you thinking of Ann Coulter?
- digxag, on 10/16/2009, -2/+52If you're going to allude to an aphorism, at least understand what it means. "Don't shoot the messeger" means, don't go after the poor bloke stuck with delivering a statement he had no hand in crafting.
Phillips isn't a delivery boy. He's not just a spokesperson. He's the president of the organization. Not the messenger, the author. He's absolutely fair game for sniping. - yosemite610, on 10/16/2009, -5/+55The 'message' was artificial. It deserves burying.
- jdenzer, on 10/16/2009, -3/+53Right, b/c she was yelling and saying cut his mic like O'reilly and Hannity.
And she was losing it so much that she canceled her next segment to continue the interview. - Chapman9110, on 10/16/2009, -7/+52What is with this guys claim that most health insurance companies are in favor of health care reform and why did Maddow keep letting him get away with it?
- Invid, on 10/16/2009, -2/+47What facts? You haven't said anything of substance. Be specific beyond "GE is one of the top five defence contractors."
What war expansions? What deals with the Obama administration?
Republican handwaving is tiresome. Say something of substance and we'll see if we can refute it. Your vague ***** counts for nothing and condemns no one. - tgc1, on 10/16/2009, -2/+46Her confidence and courage and professionalism is awesome.
- lamiaconfitor, on 10/16/2009, -4/+46wow, He should have taken the out when he had it.
- lexpattison, on 10/16/2009, -1/+42I defy you to prove that my house isn't the lair to an underground group of Nazi zombies bent on the destruction of all jello pudding on the face of the earth. I DEFY YOU to prove this isn't true!
You see how I just laid out some outrageous crap that you really have no chance of DISPROVING unless you wanted to go to a ridiculous amount of effort to disprove something that on the surface is absurd.
Same thing. - lexpattison, on 10/16/2009, -6/+46Hey Troll.
Advocating it with one side of your mouth and serving your corporate masters with the other is not really an effective way to actually generate prosperity for all people - just for YOUR people. - omnithought, on 10/16/2009, -3/+41Holy crap, that was awesome. I wish more pundits would qualify their statements and use hard facts rather than pure rhetoric. Sure, she had some rhetoric, but at least it was factually based.
She kept bringing him back to the point when he would seek to evade and weasel out of what she was saying, and she just stuck with it. If anyone buys that guy's BS, then we truly are an idicoracy. - yosemite610, on 10/16/2009, -0/+38I think it's a fair representation, but I don't often see her 'pull out the stops' like she did when describing her lack of respect for his 'industry'.
- OliveStreet, on 10/16/2009, -4/+42Someone else said it best when they said today's Television News (And I think the emphasis here is on FOX) has become Journalism by assertion rather than facts.
While MSNBC pounds Fox and all the stupid characters it promotes, (i.e. O'Rielly, Limbaugh, Beck), it does so with sources. Maddow and Olbermann never make assertions without backing them with reputable, non-partisan sources.
Digg me down right wing nut jobs, but you know it's true. Assclowns like Beck, if they source anything, it's usually from somewhere like the Drudge Report because, you know, there's no bias or agenda there. - wwwonka, on 10/16/2009, -1/+37dare WE dig up all the previous DIGG comments from the right wing bigots about her sexually? Hopefully I won't crash the servers listing them all.
- lexpattison, on 10/16/2009, -9/+45Oh - my good old friend Infowarsdotcom. I wish you would pull that tin foil hat down far enough to cover your mouth. You muddy the waters with your lunatic rantings.
- Rantus, on 10/16/2009, -4/+40Did anyone ever consider that if maybe the economy wasn't a shell of what it used to be and that we actually manufactured things again and made money off of it that we wouldn't even be having this conversation?
Americans for Prosperity eh? Well, they are definitely into it for their own prosperity, that's for sure. He didn't say that they were going to be prosperous in an ethical way now did he? Band-aids on gunshot wounds, that's how the wealthy want to deal with every problem they face that they can't get filthy rich off of. Lowlifes. - youjettisonme, on 10/16/2009, -9/+45Whoosh! Why is it so simple to slip even the simplest thing over a Republican's head?
Republican... The Literal Party. - danfive555, on 10/16/2009, -3/+34I can't find the war division on GE's annual report...are you referring to jet engines.
- ironhide, on 10/16/2009, -3/+34He's not a Republican, just an idiot.
- pintomp3, on 10/16/2009, -2/+33Most of the interviewers in corporate news are only too happy to let them spout lies and then "leave it there".
- inkswamp, on 10/16/2009, -10/+41Republicans got beat up by a gi-irl. Republicans got beat up by a gi-irl.
- davidrools, on 10/16/2009, -1/+30It's awesome how you can tell she's really passionate about what she's talking about, but holds back in order to have an intellectual and civil discussion.
Side note: I and many other guys still have a completely impractical crush on her. - pintomp3, on 10/16/2009, -1/+29Advocating for equality and civil rights offends you?
- EarlOfLade, on 10/16/2009, -4/+32Ahhh, so you are a bigoted hypocritical homophobe... Good to know...
- tuka, on 10/16/2009, -2/+29Maddow and Stuart need to have a love child, then groom it to be president of the world.
Keith Olberman can be the fun uncle - buzznjackal, on 10/16/2009, -3/+30Wow, Tim Phillips actually lasted 10 seconds before the lies began to spew from his mouth.
Grass roots movement? Someone please inform me what the term is for the exact opposite of a grass roots movement, because that would describe Americans for Prosperity. -
