- greenback1, on 10/26/2007, -14/+95Sieg Heil! Fascism has finally beaten America. The enemy of American idealism is in charge. The sad part is that there are Americans cheering for this stuff.
- jfowler27, on 10/29/2007, -8/+80I was laughing up until the part where they started dragging other people out who didn't seem to be doing anything. I was almost expected another "don't tase me bro!" moment.
- greenback1, on 10/26/2007, -3/+60Did you pay attention? The protest was for all the blood shed over the immoral war. Do you even care that thousands of US soldiers are dead and dying for no reason? What is wrong with you people? Or is it you just don't want your fantasy world disrupted by the facts of war. You should be ashamed of yourself, brave young men and women dying so that international corporations can make a ***** of money; they're not even American companies making money off this war, they're off-shore companies which hold allegiance to no nation. Go back to watching your soap operas or football or crappy movies, the adults are taking charge.
- Glofern, on 10/29/2007, -7/+55If you watch carefully, you will see South Florida right-wing Congresswoman Ileana Ross Lightening being pushed out of the way and almost falling. Sorry, but it made me laugh because she is so relentlessly in favor of all of GW Bush's policies.
- greenfirefly11, on 10/29/2007, -14/+60I love seeing this filthy whore for the New World Order Condoleezza Rice getting confronted. You can just see the evil surrounding her. But she is weak. The woman that confronted the whore is infinitely more brave, noble, and strong than this witch. Rice needs to be curled up in the corner of a prison cell.
- TecHeavy, on 10/26/2007, -2/+47It's really sad what's been happening to our country the past 4-5 decades. Not only can we now feel what is happening to our country and to us, but we are starting to see it to. It's just really frustrating to see our fellow country men standby and support what is and has been happening.
- OneManArmy, on 10/27/2007, -9/+49Sorry fellow Americans but: land of the free my ass!
- SoyJames, on 10/25/2007, -3/+43Preemptive protester prohibition
- ChristPissed, on 10/26/2007, -5/+35How much did you sell your soul for, Aqueous? Your thoughtless comment shows your complete lack of concern & awareness for why & how several thousand American's blood has been shed in three countries since September 11, 2001, all for profit and politics and zionism. You obviously have no concern for the blood of several hundred of thousands of totally innocent dead Iraqi men, woman, children, and babies. Go sniff some DU dust.
- swrostmore, on 10/25/2007, -11/+38I'll preface this by saying I'm glad to see activism during Congressional hearings, but after watching this kind of thing happen multiple times on C-Span, I'm starting to wish that Code Pink protesters would stand up and make calm, reasoned statements before being thrown out, instead of flailing about and screaming incoherent slogans. This is what people see as representative of the peace movement.
- jaymzdean, on 10/26/2007, -2/+22Anyone who isn't singing anything but praises to every American who has the courage to stand up to a war criminal like Rice is a traitor to the Constitution and the U.S.A., and as such shall reap hell on earth before this Nazi movement is over. Believe it. Your day is coming.
- NightVortez, on 10/27/2007, -11/+30See but unlike the holocaust, this is on every Americans hands, "We the people" elected the people who started this war, therefore the responsibility still lyes with us, lets not make the same mistake again.
- rolosworld, on 10/26/2007, -3/+21I think its more funny how condi turns her face after seen the woman going straight to her, like looking for someone to protect her. I wonder how scared she would get if she had to go to Iraq as an soldier.
- swrostmore, on 10/25/2007, -4/+22"Protesting is allowed but not when it disrupts people."
Protesting is EFFECTIVE when it disrupts people. If the millions of people who protested before the war had actually caused a disruption instead of calmly marching in "free speech zones," maybe things would have turned out differently. - Bonz2008, on 10/26/2007, -3/+20Our founders would be sick to see Americans treated like this.. And this is coming from a guy thats far right.
- maybeinoregon, on 10/26/2007, -3/+20"War is their trade, plunder and revenue their objects. While such governments continue, peace has not the absolute security of a day." T.Paine
- spoiled1, on 10/25/2007, -6/+22So, moin1097, why don't you tell your beloved administration to go to countries like Sudan, Burma, Ethiopia and help people over there. Iraqis at least had running water, and food to eat under Saddam. Oh, and don't forget about millions of refugees in neighboring countries.
You're acting like you don't care about the human losses. - uncertainty, on 10/25/2007, -1/+17You're clearly not a fan of the Marx Brothers.
- superfrodies, on 10/25/2007, -0/+16looks like the thought-police ARE back...
and so are the grammar police - cglisson, on 10/25/2007, -0/+16Ummm, the pink ladies were doing nothing and just by association they were dragged out and harassed, humiliated, and treated like a second class citizen, no matter what stance they had. This nation is scarily becoming New UK in "V". This is what you gave up Americans... and it's only gonna get worse...
- Truami, on 11/03/2007, -3/+18Looks like the thought-police is back.
- Bdog2g2, on 10/25/2007, -2/+16yeah. I thought protest was free speech. Now the first lady I could see why they removed her, but peaceful protest is the right of every citizen and what better place than in front of Congress. Its funny how Congress seemed to forget they represent us. The Executive Branch has also forgotten they server at our pleasure.
Watching someone demonstrating peacefully, being dragged out, is something I thought I would only see in Myrammar or China, looks like its caught on here too. - Arkavus, on 10/27/2007, -0/+14What? You're saying Hitler wasn't elected? Hate to break it to you but he was.
- halavais, on 10/26/2007, -2/+15@moin1097:
I'm sorry, but those figures are entirely invented. Not only did most of the country have water and electricity, in the 1980s, they had universal health care on a par with some European countries. Saddam had to go, because he was a cruel dictator. But don't pretend that the US has done anything but level the infrastructure of Iraq, and has proven incapable of rebuilding it. - dinorama1234, on 10/26/2007, -4/+16"The Supreme Court has roundly rejected prior restraint." - Walter
F.u.c.k.i.n.g. F.a.s.c.i.s.t.s. (Yes, that's an acronym).
This ***** cop...wow. What a man. What an American! "Let's go ladies", as he and the other thugs drag these American citizens who weren't doing anything except expressing their opinions through dress out of the room. What a ***** dick. Seriously. ***** traitors to everything America used to stand for. - spoiled1, on 10/26/2007, -4/+16@moin1097
I didn't ask YOU to go and help them but at least show support for more "legitimate" efforts, if any, by your "beloved" administration to help poorer countries. Iraq certainly didn't need any "forced" help.
Well you said it yourself that you don't care about human losses, now your claim that I don't care about it, is just an attempt to make yourself feel less guilty.
My fellow "human" being, all I can do is feel sorry for you. - reedatschool, on 10/25/2007, -1/+13Bureaucracy combined with strong overriding corporate interests is most definitely fascism. I am not sure what else you could call it.
- ciaran036, on 10/25/2007, -0/+12That video sickens me. Firstly, the guy who runs over, knocking the woman in the red jacket to the side and grabbing the activist, the cops who drag those innocent woman out of the place and the fact that everyone in the room just watches, as if nothing significant is happening! If I was there I'd be tempted to punch one of those cops.
- DooM, on 10/26/2007, -5/+172006 Study: "War blamed for 655,000 Iraqi deaths"
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/10/11/iraq.dea ... - akula696969, on 10/25/2007, -0/+12If a protester is protesting in silence, is that a protest?
We have silently become what we once did hate, and not with the heavy hand of government only, but with the heavy hand of their puppet citizens yelling patriot slogans and waving the flag as they destroyed liberties...... - ciaran036, on 10/26/2007, -2/+13Take that Rice ya bitch!
George Bush said at the start of this week that there will be World War 3 if Iran makes a nuclear bomb.
What he fails to mention is that America already has nuclear bombs and has already used them to killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Iran should have full rights to make a nuclear bomb (even know they clearly have no such intentions) if they want. They'd need to because it is very clear that Iran is next on their list of countries to rape (first Afghanistan, then Iraq...). - chitoiup, on 11/03/2007, -1/+12Since bloody when does the police remove people who are protesters but don't actually do anything?
- m0tbaillie, on 10/26/2007, -1/+12I agree with absolutely everything you said, except the part about "the adults" taking charge. Nobody is taking charge, and therein lies the problem.
- reedatschool, on 10/25/2007, -4/+14No doubt, without civil disobedience the government would likely never listen.
- jfowler27, on 10/25/2007, -4/+14I agree. My confusion came from throwing out the other people who didn't seem to be doing anything disruptive. It all seemed chaotic and unnecessary on both sides.
- mrgreg, on 10/26/2007, -4/+14Well obviously the bloody hands lady should of been removed from the area post-haste, but the "Code Pink" people's removal was absolutely uncalled for. The video shows them doing nothing but sitting there. Obviously they had the right to be there because they were allowed entry. If they had disrupted the speech at any time, they should be removed, but removing them before they are doing anything is absolutely outrageous, and downright discriminatory based on clothing.
- sollycardy, on 10/25/2007, -3/+13What do you mean "your own"? Your own are HUMAN BEINGS. Why does it matter to you what country they were born in? And I bet you call yourself Christian...
- tommyhanks, on 10/26/2007, -0/+10Yes, they do.
We are reading about it aren't we? We are seeing it aren't we? Agree or not, the message is out there. - artemus, on 10/25/2007, -1/+10But her goal was not to raise awareness, not to hold a debate. She wanted to raise awareness about Condi Rice's involvement in the war, and it was effective for what it was.
- Frostman3D, on 10/25/2007, -3/+12That one lady didn't do *****, she was just hauled out for no reason.
- reedatschool, on 10/26/2007, -1/+10I guess all the Nazis didn't die out.
- adooga, on 10/25/2007, -1/+9@moin: please provide proof of your (ahem) statistics.
- rz8472, on 10/25/2007, -6/+14Condi got what was coming to her. I would add though, that Code Pink is not helping the anti-war movement:
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/7683877 ... - inactive, on 10/26/2007, -1/+9Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.
Iraq has to do with un resolution #1441 - supermanred, on 10/25/2007, -0/+8Yes, he was. Good point. He just changed the law bit by bit until he was supreme leader. George Bush has laid the foundation for a lot of what Hitler did, maybe he wont be the one declaring dictatorship but he's leaving the door open for a 1984 America controlled by big brother.
See: Patriot Act. - swrostmore, on 10/26/2007, -1/+9Yeah, but in order for someone to protest you, you would have to have some sort of influence or noteability, which sadly will never happen until you start mailing out envelopes full white powder to all the "librulls" that fill you with hatred.
- Bdog2g2, on 10/25/2007, -1/+9Well in your case I wish they would initiate post birth abortions. That would fix a few problems.
- stepnw1f, on 10/26/2007, -2/+10Actually she deserved to be kicked and dragged like some of our soldiers have been into war itself. Send her little rich fascist ass into a death sentence. Don't like it, too ***** bad. Welcome to average American's reality.
- hiphoc, on 10/26/2007, -3/+11For an unfazed cold hearted evil bitch yea, she did. I hope she handles herself this well in jail. Cause me and millions of others wont stop till she and her handlers go to prison. Since Korea presidents have been sending us to these undeclared wars that kill thousands. Someone must be punished so this never happens again.
- halavais, on 10/25/2007, -1/+9I don't think many people here disagree that the protester was disruptive and that it was appropriate that she was removed--even those who agree with her sentiments. I think the problem comes with cops removing other members of Code Pink ("c'mon kids...") who had not (yet) done anything.
