- OogSeattleite, on 01/20/2008, -20/+365Man, I really don't want to look at Romney's smarmy face for the next 4 years.
- lvp1138, on 01/20/2008, -9/+171People, the NV caucus is a two part system. Choosing delegates, and a NON-INFLUENCIAL straw poll. Romney is getting the most votes but very few of his supporters are running as delegates. Ron Paul is getting almost 50% of all delegates at this time. I am in Las Vegas and we are following those numbers here very closely.
- kwansolo, on 01/20/2008, -17/+179Damn, only 1% away from forcing MSM to give him a mention. Because, you know, it would be ridiculous to sandbag someone at that point, right?
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -8/+128Mitt Romney could fight a bear in gale-force winds and every hair on his head would still be in its right place
- superyounan1, on 01/20/2008, -7/+117can someone answer this for me? WHAT DO PEOPLE SEE IN MITT ROMNEY?! All i see in the debates is a tall, handsome DUMBASS who does nothing but make stupid faces when other people talk and get extremely pestilential when anyone challenges him or points out one of his countless flip flops
- dtotheb, on 01/20/2008, -34/+137Ron Paul, do it for the lulz
- tbenathan, on 01/20/2008, -11/+110CNN already mentioned Paul - at the very, very bottom of their piece, in as few words as possible.
- LetTheEgoSoar, on 01/20/2008, -15/+107Now let's see the news continue to ignore him.
- Ifishbein, on 01/20/2008, -19/+104It's sad that people in South Carolina claim that there is no true conservative candidate this year because they don't hear about Paul in the media.
- keithgplayer, on 01/20/2008, -14/+97Nobody running on the pro-war ticket is going to the White House.
- mahavishnu108, on 01/20/2008, -8/+79MSNBC can project this because they performed extensive exit polls and Ron Paul received somewhere around 40% of the independent vote.
- scubasteve377, on 01/20/2008, -5/+76Comment abuse: Paul has officially finished second with 14%. He finished behind only Romney and 1% ahead of McCain. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results ...
- Humptydank, on 01/20/2008, -8/+72I have to admit, second place is a huge achievement for Ron Paul.
I think he should make the most of it and have a press conference on an aircraft carrier, with a big "Mission Accomplished" banner behind him. - cnot3, on 01/20/2008, -2/+57The above statement is a perfect example of why democracy doesn't work.
- Bodieslikesheep, on 01/20/2008, -3/+52Welcome to America, where our citizens would rather vote for a President based on their looks, character, talking ability rather than their POLICY. Honestly, most Americans don't deserve democracy, and Thomas Jefferson would agree with me on this one.
Policy wise, Romney isn't appealing to anyone that doesn't follow a blind faith. - banmaster, on 01/20/2008, -1/+50Don't worry. They will :(
- dde2, on 01/20/2008, -1/+48They haven't ignored him, they have ridiculed and laughed at him every chance they get. I'm not a Paul supporter, but I have been a little disgusted with the way he has been treated by the media and some of the other candidates. hasn't he beaten Giuliani in every state so far? If Paul does better then Giuliani in Florida too I think he might finally get a little respect. And really, I'm not a supporter.
- SouthsideIrish, on 01/20/2008, -2/+47That's one thing we tried to do, get as many delegates as possible in every state, which is probably not what Dennis and Mike did. You can only win, or shake the convention up if you have people there.
- slapded, on 01/20/2008, -7/+52fox news never talked about him tonight. yeah thats *****' fair
- Ragecloak, on 01/20/2008, -16/+60only because the msm has been brainwashing the people with that exact phrase for months now even before votes were cast--then they censor him even when he has a strong showing.
- kufu91, on 01/20/2008, -7/+49well, why not? he beat mccain and came in second with the press completely ignoring him for no other reason then they don't think he can win. Imagine what would happen if people gave him a chance.
- bowe, on 01/20/2008, -2/+43Right now 98% reporting. Paul is in second with 14% of the vote. 4 delegates won. Maybe he'll pick up some momentum. I'd say it should be a MAJOR news story that he could beat McCain, Guiliani, thompson and Huckabee. There was probably a lot of spill over from UTAH into Nevada which is why Mitt ran away with it.
- theexitwound, on 01/20/2008, -9/+48Campaigning? He would have won even if he promised to bomb every country in the Middle East. He won because of his religion.
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -10/+47That means neither Clinton nor Obama will go to the white house, you mean? Thank FSM.
- dn11, on 01/20/2008, -34/+69DISTANT 2nd
- dn11, on 01/20/2008, -0/+34They see generic conservatism with nice hair.... and they see A LOT of it since he can afford to bombard the airways with ads
- Russellk30, on 01/20/2008, -5/+38He recieved closer to 60% of the independent vote. Crazy! Just proves that those whom have maintained there republican registration through the Bush admin are still cought in the 9/11 web of fear.
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -5/+38Rudy is going to get stomped in Florida and will probably end his run there after he finishes fifth again.
- RandoTheKing, on 01/20/2008, -0/+33Are you ***** serious?
- SouthsideIrish, on 01/20/2008, -4/+36You are kidding me right? I will never vote for a Republican Neocon again.
- heuranit, on 01/20/2008, -6/+36He is also mentioned in the New York Times...nice change!
- Elderon, on 01/20/2008, -15/+44@Dugo
People support him because we support his ideas, not just the ones about the war. The fact that you attack him instead of refuting his ideas goes to show you're maturity level. - toasty168, on 01/20/2008, -2/+31ron paul could win first place and fox wouldn't report it
- slapded, on 01/20/2008, -10/+37which ones worse, his face or that other guys chipmunk face
- Berkana, on 01/20/2008, -0/+27Dugg for being honest. See, it's not just us Ron Paul supporters who see a bias.
- Firehed, on 01/20/2008, -4/+29As usual, better than Giuliani.
Of course 4% vs 2% isn't saying much, but I'm glad to see more people like freedom than tyranny, even if the vast majority are for random stupidity. - HarrietTubgirl, on 01/20/2008, -2/+27Nevada has a fairly large mormon population. Are you going to be amazed when he wins the Utah caucus by a landslide too?
- Mast3rDigg3r, on 01/20/2008, -1/+25the democrats are county delegates not actual votes
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -7/+31You can watch your candidate go down in flames when we vote for Ron either as a third party candidate or as a write in. The ONLY GOP party member who stands a chance is Ron Paul.
It's a giant chess game to those who wield the "power" and they are playing this to perfection. Their ultimate choice is Hillary. If Ron Paul isn't president, it will either be her with Obama as VP, or Obama with her as VP. Bobby Fischer must be rolling over in his grave with the way these events are unfolding and the ultimate simplicity of how to defeat the opponent.
Don't bitch and whine when you lose. I am not a demoncrat or a rethuglican. I vote for the individual who I believe will best represent this country as it was founded. There is only one person on the ticket who can do so and that man will receive my vote regardless. - moraldebate, on 01/20/2008, -28/+51Surprising and awesome. Ron Paul will not be president, but Ron Paul's campaign will affect American politics for years. Even if he may have somewhat stolen the youth vote from Obama, my personal fave, this is still a cause to celebrate the power of the internet and the power of democracy.
- JettaMan, on 01/20/2008, -4/+27The MSM expertly dodged even mentioning that he received 2nd place. They are brilliant. And by brilliant I mean absolutely dirty.
- MilitantRabbit, on 01/20/2008, -4/+27Emblazoned on the MSNBC front page:
BREAKING NEWS: Ron Paul will finish second in Nevada's GOP caucuses - mikelieman, on 01/20/2008, -3/+25Coincidentally, Nevada has the most honest elections in the nation. They're overseen by the State Gaming Commission.
- Jo9100, on 01/20/2008, -8/+30are they really going to mention him? that would be time
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -0/+22 The media's philosophy regarding Ron Paul is, " If you don't have anything negative to say, don't say anything at all."
- PunkRampant, on 01/20/2008, -3/+25I think his main selling point is that he looks presidential. Of course, people like his stance against "Islamofascism" and his anti-regulation ideas, but he just LOOKS like a president. I would say people are going for that.
- nygrissplz, on 01/20/2008, -2/+23dugg up for epic sarcasm/trolling
- Zephkiel, on 01/20/2008, -0/+21The deciding factor was in one county where Clinton won overwhelmingly (the biggest county by far). Obama won in almost every other county.
- ggfobster, on 01/20/2008, -0/+20...and then he'd flip flop and blow right over.
- thallium205, on 01/20/2008, -0/+20Yes there is a huge Mormon presence here in Nevada.
