- inactive, on 10/25/2007, -5/+168What will happen is McCain will realize he doesn't belong in the race.
- freecon, on 11/03/2007, -9/+160Ron Paul owned Romney on the "lawyer" remark. RP could not be more correct in hosing him.
- joebrender, on 10/25/2007, -13/+135I'm so offended by the media telling us all who has a chance and who doesn't. Who decides these things?
I'm glad RP is getting some press, but why is Tom Tancredo ruled out? Why is Duncan Hunter ruled out. Its not up the media. They shouldn't be telling us what to think. - ashlocke, on 10/26/2007, -5/+116It's scary that Rudy leads the republican ranks. /chills
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -10/+111To Giuliani, "special interests" rule. To Ron Paul the citizens come first. Why would I want to support a president for special interests when I can support a president that represents me--the common citizen?
- kaje, on 10/24/2007, -4/+104Good job linking to the Print page.
- chupavacas, on 10/26/2007, -11/+91Thompson is the only one of the top four that can "get it" and tailor his message to RP supporters because nobody knows what Thomspon stands for, yet, if anything. The other three have gone too far to the other side. Do I think Thompson will start talking about individual rights, non-interventionalism and sound economic principals? No, I do not. He's going after the same phantoms that the other three are chasing. What are they calling it these days? Islamo-terror-fascism? What a joke!
- Damian91, on 10/24/2007, -3/+77Who in the ***** is voting for Rudy? My god, I'd rather have Dakota Fanning in office than him.
- funkedup, on 10/26/2007, -9/+72Many of the American soldiers today support Ron Paul. That must be a huge bitchslap to McCain's face.
- CasaWood, on 10/25/2007, -20/+82No matter how much the press or others may want to deny it the Ron Paul revolution is breaking through!
- kushed, on 10/26/2007, -7/+61I have donated $25 from each paycheck I got this month (I get paid weekly), and will probably continue to do so, as long as there is hope. I know its not much, but I am sure it counts, as numbers have proven. But he needs as much support as he can get, so please spread the word even if you can't donate.
- Shigglyboo, on 11/06/2007, -8/+60i don't get all this "front runner"/"top tier" business. most of the polls are completely worthless since they only tell you something like 95% of Americans are fat. it's just conjecture. seems like all the guys running would be considered equal until there's actually a vote. I hate the political system here. why can't all the guys run? couldn't we select a president out of 15 greedy rich dudes instead of just 2? I'm voting for Ron Paul whether or not he wins the "republican" candidacy. that or I just won't bother voting.
- andermic, on 10/23/2007, -10/+56Not that anyone cares, or should care.... but I am voting for Ron Paul... It's one of the few things that I agree with the Digg community. And that's saying a lot. Ron Paul appears, to me, to be the only honest person running for president the next term, and really that is all that matters to me.
- conceptkid, on 10/29/2007, -13/+55Yep, the 2008 Elections is like a Big Frat Party with all the 'coolest' Frat Members there. That is until Ron Paul and his supporters showed up, stole the kegs and the girls and burned down the house. Go RON PAUL!!
- insomniac8400, on 10/25/2007, -5/+40Thompson has shown incompetence. That precludes him from taking support away from ron paul. He and guiliani will duke it out over the same idiots. While Paul takes up all the educated and motivated people. The type of people who actually vote, not just answers phone polls.
- kaelyiesta, on 10/26/2007, -1/+33For others reference:
Ron Paul said to Romney in reference to his suggestion to let lawyers be the final arbiter of going to war, "This idea of going and talking to attorneys totally baffles me. Why don't we just open up the Constitution and read it? You're not allowed to go to war without a declaration of war." - inactive, on 11/06/2007, -4/+35I didn't do any math on this... but I dare say RP got half the attention or talk time than any other candidate in that debate. He definately had something like a fifth of the talk time Mitt or Giuliani had.
It's a lousy debate when there's not enough RP to go around. - sbassin, on 10/19/2007, -6/+35I have never met *anybody* who supports either Hillary Clinton or Rudy Giuliani. Obviously one person's personal network is not a statistically significant "study", but still... How can these two people be the leading candidates?
- ZenMojo, on 11/03/2007, -2/+30The problem with McCain is that, when he first ran for president he purported to be everything you wanted in a Republican president. Over the last 8 years, however, he has tethered his cord to George W. Bush like a lifeline in his old age, a constant desperate struggle to stay relevant to his "base." But if he is so fervently defending someone who only 29% of the country likes, this makes him useless to the remaining 71% of the people.
On a side note, Clinton had a 70% approval rating and got impeached in a Republican Congress. Bush has a ~30% approval rating in a Democratic Congress that won't impeach. Doesn't this make him the Anti-Clinton? - Quaterni0n, on 11/02/2007, -4/+29That's all he's got, man. Gotta play with the hand you're dealt.
- wendelgee2, on 10/25/2007, -3/+28Tom Tancredo? The guy who wanted to bomb the mecca? Are you insane???
*********************
Talk show host Pat Campbell asked the Littleton Republican how the country should respond if terrorists struck several U.S. cities with nuclear weapons.
"Well, what if you said something like — if this happens in the United States, and we determine that it is the result of extremist, fundamentalist Muslims, you know, you could take out their holy sites," Tancredo answered.
"You're talking about bombing Mecca," Campbell said.
"Yeah," Tancredo responded.
The congressman later said he was "just throwing out some ideas" and that an "ultimate threat" might have to be met with an "ultimate response." - NightVortez, on 10/11/2007, -2/+25"It'll be interesting to see which of the front-runners actually "gets it" and tries to co-opt some of Paul's supporters."
They still believe he doesn't have the slightest chance, looks like nothing has changed. - inactive, on 10/25/2007, -7/+27Um, have you been american for long?...
- inactive, on 10/25/2007, -5/+25Thompson will not be against interventionism. It's in his blood:
http://www.criticalreactor.com/2007/07/26/fred-tho ... - xGrill, on 10/25/2007, -13/+33Ron Paul FTW!
- Birdoftruth, on 10/25/2007, -9/+29stop spamming, troll and read up on his stances.
- ettin, on 10/19/2007, -4/+23I dont care what happens in the next election, im not voting for evil anymore. Its paul, kucinich, gravel, or its nothing.
Oh, btw, polls are blatant unfounded propaganda. - adidos, on 10/13/2007, -9/+28While I appreciate the link to MSNBC and not blogspam, you should realize that not every digger wants to print the article :)
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -9/+27If Giuliani wins I am completely open to actually _believing_ - not just contemplating - that 9-11 was really an "inside job."
- Elderon, on 10/26/2007, -7/+25@pfeester
What are you talking about? You don't like his views on abortion?! wtf man, have you read ANYthing about RP? He's not going to force his views on abortion onto you. He said already that he's all for letting the states decide the issue for themselves so if you don't vote on local state issues, you only have yourself to blame. - katie212, on 10/19/2007, -4/+22Ron Paul just plain out makes sense. I hear those war drums beating louder and louder everyday on both sides of the aisle. Ron Paul is emphatic on "Defense" and spending our money on our military in order for them to have equipment to be able to fight and defend themselves, but as you all know that isnot where the monies is being allocated. It is being allocated to the military complexes and to arms being given to other countries etc.. as you heard Dr. Paul saying in the debate last evening. Donot let our government officials continue with this lie when our men and women in uniform can't even get the necessary equipment needed to so call "win"(whatever that means at this point) this quagmire - clustered war. Our military arenot given the means to even keep their equipment up and running properly, yet they are told to stay and fight? I have been a registered republican conservative for 30 yrs and most certainly will change my affiliation to this party AFTER the vote for president is over. I donot wish to be affiliated with this bunch of GOP heathens any longer. Ron Paul is Spot On and He has my complete support. He is a most courageous man and who else have you seen that not only has to debate the MSM , but at the same time has to defend himself from the warmongering republican candidates. We americans see right through this whole thing and one thing is for sure and that is, when the media doesn't want me to hear someones message...That is the exact message that I want to know and hear.
- Kaosu, on 10/25/2007, -3/+21I don't get it. You won't vote for him just to spite us? If you believe that there is a more qualified candidate who runs on your beliefs, that is one thing. But to vote for someone else just because he has such ardent supporters, that is counterproductive and a disservice to this once great nation.
- Bodhinature, on 10/25/2007, -2/+19I guess you can't spam 5 million dollars, can you! I'd say the support for Paul is greater than for Giuliani simply because Paul isn't courting the less populous but large moneyed elites. An upset? Maybe not, but those who run the country are definitely watching.
- inactive, on 10/23/2007, -13/+29I've never even heard of the guys behind him in the rankings. Go Ron Paul!
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -6/+22msnbc and cnbc are really giving ron paul more and more sour 'support'
always making inaccurate comments about him everytime they mention him
cnbc pulls polls that ron is winning now too - inactive, on 10/13/2007, -6/+22He wants to leave it up to the states. It's not his decision to make, nor is it yours.
- Mageling, on 10/25/2007, -1/+16Whoever is laughing into their mic at these debates is pissing me off. Every time I here "Ron Paul" I hear a suppressed snicker in the background. It's not professional. It's not respectful. And it's very annoying.
- warsql, on 10/13/2007, -10/+24You obviously don't understand libertarianism.
- jgaba24, on 10/26/2007, -2/+16...and now the Stooliani camp is trying to take credit for it . Today on Hardball they stated that they were going after Romney hot and heavy for this remark ...but during the debate Stooliani was too busy snickering at RP to put up any protest to Romney's remark
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+18But we DO want to read it without getting slammed in the face by adverts and 'after the jump' messages!
- crackedplastic, on 10/13/2007, -12/+25The reason why the submitter (BowieX) linked the print version is because somebody already linked the regular version FIFTEEN DAYS AGO. It's a deliberate dupe. BowieX should know better.
- WilliamDavis, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16I also noticed that they asked him a lot of questions first. Now, that's a lot better than ignoring him, but it seems like they didn't want him zinging any of their favorite candidates. He seems to make them look silly every time he responds to comments made by the others.
- jibii, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20Ron Paul is personally against abortion, but would still let the states decide for themselves on the legalities of it. I'd say that's freedom.
- yoshimaroka, on 11/02/2007, -14/+27The thing with 'scientific' polls is that some don't even mention Paul and if they do it's under "press #5 for other candidates".
Also, they only call landline phones. - dan222555, on 10/25/2007, -2/+15They're telling you who has a chance to win based on how much money they've raised and how popular they are. Believe it or not people in the news analyze Presidential Elections a bit....this isn't new.
- Elderon, on 10/13/2007, -3/+15Umm question, From where are they getting these results? Both the Cnbc poll (which they suddenly took down) and the Msnbc poll showed Ron Paul in first place by a large margin. All hacking poll crashing BS aside, where are they getting there info? They obviously didn't listen to their viewers so did they just make ***** up and post it or did they just go by total amount of money or crap like that? Really like money means ***** in how you would run the country. I'd rather take a poor intelligent kind person that some rich *****.
- katie212, on 10/19/2007, -1/+13God Bless You! I also donate on a weekly basis and KNOW how much you sacrifiice for "The Cause" and we supporters DO stick together!
- Smight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=3601542
- MacEnvy, on 11/02/2007, -0/+11It's not a deck full of jokers ... it's very clear that he's "not playing with a full deck" at all.
- grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, on 10/25/2007, -1/+12It's purposeful. It's meant to belittle, discredit and marginalize RP and his message to ensure the comfort and continued sedation of the masses. It's propaganda.
