- Tex, on 07/28/2008, -2/+75Yet they'll approve posters for gore movies like SAW and HOSTEL?
- inactive, on 12/20/2007, -1/+65The Times reported that:
On the day of his death, Dilawar had been chained by the wrists to the top of his cell for much of the previous four days.
"A guard tried to force the young man to his knees. But his legs, which had been pummeled by guards for several days, could no longer bend. An interrogator told Mr. Dilawar that he could see a doctor after they finished with him. When he was finally sent back to his cell, though, the guards were instructed only to chain the prisoner back to the ceiling.
"Leave him up," one of the guards quoted Specialist Claus as saying. Several hours passed before an emergency room doctor finally saw Mr. Dilawar. By then he was dead, his body beginning to stiffen.
It would be many months before Army investigators learned a final horrific detail: Most of the interrogators had believed Mr. Dilawar was an innocent man who simply drove his taxi past the American base at the wrong time

It's so shameful when reality is the enemy. I pray that Bush and his neocon friends have forever nightmares about all the shame they have caused our country. - hoshizakistar, on 12/20/2007, -1/+40if they don't want these images to be seen, they should probably just not do the things they're doing in the pictures. it's much easier than censoring.
- stan205, on 12/20/2007, -0/+37This Film is Not Yet Rated is a great documentary about the MPAA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Film_Is_Not_Yet_ ... Tells all the inter workings of their corrupt ways.
- alkajazz, on 12/20/2007, -1/+26The truth hurts.
- inactive, on 12/20/2007, -0/+22but, but I thought the only ones there were terrorists!
- insanebrain, on 12/20/2007, -1/+21Isn't it time to give the statue of liberty back to france ??
- inactive, on 12/20/2007, -0/+17Former First Lady Barbara Bush said of the war in Iraq:
"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? It's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"
Good Morning America interview, 18 March 2003. - mrdoogee, on 12/20/2007, -0/+15Ok, I warn you here comes the Godwin:

Ok, here goes. I can see now how fascism gained a foothold in the 1930s. Rhetoric ramps up so slowly that there is never a watershed moment. Nobody ever said: Ok, be Nazis now. It was brick by brick. Law by law. And it was all done with the peoples consent. The German government was democratically elected. If we keep letting those who crave power above all else have it, then one day we'll be explaining to the world about how we didn't know what those camps in the middle of nowhere were for. And before anybody asks, no, I don't know what to do. Thats why I'm so worried. I love my country, but I am also very afraid for it. - effedup, on 12/20/2007, -2/+16I realize that only the bad stories make it to the front page, and you never hear about the "good", but, it truly is unfortunate for America because your country is looking more and more like the bad guys everyday. Where as 6 or 7 years ago, you were just the arrogant Americans who forced foreign policy on the rest of the world.. now you ARE terrorists. I like Americans, I just hate America.
- MacEnvy, on 12/20/2007, -0/+12Interesting. As an American, I love America, and hate most other Americans.
See, you can't really have one without the other. We are what we have made ourselves. It's those folks who made us this way that I hate, not the country itself.
Please don't confuse the American Government with America. The country is great, but the leaders are traitorous, terroristic, money-grubbing scum. - shaun1018, on 12/20/2007, -0/+12Ironically the maker of that movie is suing the MPAA for making an unauthorized copy of his film :)
- stan205, on 12/20/2007, -1/+12This link will work: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Film_Is_Not_Yet_ ...
How dare I use a period on the end of the sentence? - Hearron, on 12/20/2007, -2/+13F*@K the MPAA
- goffy59, on 12/20/2007, -0/+11I can't wait til' a neocon posts a comment and tries to justify this. It happens every post.
- SugeKnight, on 12/20/2007, -0/+10Isn't the point of a documentary is for the viewer to get the "uncensored" truth?
- BlacklabelSAR, on 12/20/2007, -0/+10It's like no-one ever heard of McCarthyism.
- orangetiki, on 12/20/2007, -0/+10The author should put up hi res copies of this movie poster, and have everyone print it out and post it everywhere.
- inactive, on 12/20/2007, -0/+10Clarification of above post - it describes the death subject of the documentary 'Taxi to the Dark Side," whos' image, as photographed by Shaun Schwarz, the MPAA and military censors allegedly object to.
- inactive, on 12/20/2007, -0/+9When they run out of "terrorists" random Americans will be the their next targets. Better get to the gym and practice hanging by your wrists so you can last longer than Mr. Dilawar.
- Dubon, on 12/20/2007, -0/+9 They should have followed Dick Cheney's advice, who said that if you don't want memos to be brought under scrutiny, you just shouldn't write memos. http://thinkprogress.org/2007/09/17/cheney-ford-me ...
- Baelorn, on 12/20/2007, -0/+8I just watched that(was posted in the other story) and it is worth watching if you have the time.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 12/20/2007, -0/+8"Let them eat cake"
- ybnormalman, on 12/20/2007, -1/+6Hey effedup, thanks for being one of the (seemingly) few people who can separate Americans from America. It's nice to see someone who isn't going to lump me with the douche bags in charge just because I live here.
- buckrogers1965, on 12/21/2007, -0/+5Funny how the only violence they seem to be against is when a documentary talks about real violence done to a real innocent human being by our government in our name.
How do I know he is innocent? Because he was never convicted by a jury of his peers. This is the standard I expect for myself. This is the standard I expect for anyone our government detains.
I bet Saw 5 breezes right on through the MPAA with flying colors. - jaythree9, on 12/20/2007, -1/+6pfft they don't deserve it either. let's give it to norway.
- zhulien, on 12/20/2007, -1/+6hahaha, someone should start up a hood fetish website then - nothing obscene, just lots of hoods
- jthei, on 12/21/2007, -0/+5They censor the "image of the hood" but let "Leprechaun in the Hood" have a sequel? Damn neocons with their unhealthy love of little people and urban vernacular.
- aman78, on 12/22/2007, -0/+4This is ***** amazing. We can't really let reality influence the masses can we. What the *****!!!
- undy242, on 12/21/2007, -0/+4We have the most asinine rating and censorship association in the world. I can decide for myself what I should and should not look at.
- bxblox, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3that would explain why using a proof to explain why i am correct in an argument to my girlfriend never works..
- Derelict267, on 12/20/2007, -1/+4Go ahead and digg me down but it's true. The MPAA just pick, choose and censor. They censor sex and any ideals they don't agree with but hey violence is okay.
- Jlaugh, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3A does not support C
B does not support C
there fore A and B are C's against C.
It would be logical for them to collude if C gets out of control. - one321, on 12/20/2007, -2/+5If you can't bare to share what you are doing then maybe you shouldn't be doing it at all.
- buckrogers1965, on 12/21/2007, -0/+3I have wondered my whole life how the average German person could have let the Nazi's get away with what they did. Until I saw it happen with my own country. An election with "irregularities." A big disaster. An external enemy. A perpetual state of emergency where if you question anything you are called a traitor. A steady strengthening of the executive branch. A deterioration of the legislative and judicial branches. A focus on religion and how everything is an attack against their faith.
You are absolutely right. If on day one they had tried to round up all their enemies, the people would have instantly risen up against them. So they did it step by step, just like you said, slowly manipulating the people into a state of mind to accept more and more and more.
You make people feel scared. You make people feel persecuted. You make people hate. Until they feel that the only person who can save them is the very one that is making them scared, persecuted and filled with hate. It's like being codependent on a national level. - ruiacp, on 12/21/2007, -1/+4It's not relevant because those bags will never cover any of her births, relatives or friends. And their use in anonymous people the only pain that it will bring her is the pain of "where will I waste this millions earned with the waste of that poor person's life".
But yes, human life is to boring to waste our mind with, lets fill it with Brittney, Paris or worst... Barbara Bush's comments. - Jlaugh, on 12/20/2007, -1/+3On a further note humans don't seem to operate in a totally logical manner, therefore logic is not always applicable to predicting how they may or do behave. ie "Game Theory" works on Russian missile scientists but not office secretaries.
- ELCad, on 12/21/2007, -0/+2It doesn't matter if any one wants to see it or not. The point is that the poster/ad for the movie is being censored.
Today it is for the movie you don't care about, then tomorrow the MPAA will keep the movie you want see out the theater. - whyufail, on 12/20/2007, -0/+2"The MPAA admitted to making copies of the film contrary to Dick's wishes although they contend that doing so did not constitute copyright infringement or a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). They say that the privacy of the raters themselves might have been violated by Dick. Since no complaint has been filed against Dick and since the DMCA addresses the act of subverting access control and not copying, it is unclear whether the MPAA's justification is sound."
Hypocritical *****. The best part is, not only do they try to get out of it, which were the situation reversed they would have hunted the person down and tried to completely ruin them, but they try to place the blame on the creator....
The DVD version of the film contains deleted scenes that showed both phone calls where Kirby Dick was assured that no copy would be made, and the last one where he found out that a copy had indeed been created. - juniorb, on 12/21/2007, -0/+2I laughed.
- buckrogers1965, on 12/21/2007, -0/+2A commits an act of violence.
B reports on that act of violence.
C prevents the report from being released.
Things don't happen in a vacuum. If C is operating to defend A, then more than likely there were some calls made and favors were called in by "important people" whose position in society outranks both A and C. - williamdyer, on 12/20/2007, -1/+3If you don't vote for Rudy, a horde of death-dealing Pakistani taxi drivers WILL FOLLOW YOU HOME!!! 9/11 vote for Rudy or DIE!!!
- bloodjunkiee, on 12/20/2007, -1/+3I second that
- AnotherBrian, on 12/21/2007, -0/+2It's spelled *****.
- simplistics06, on 12/21/2007, -1/+2Every time I see a gay story on the mpaa I make another site that infringes on their copyrights
- buckrogers1965, on 12/21/2007, -0/+1In a democracy you can not argue that the people are not the government. The buck stops with the people. If evil is done in their names and they do nothing, then they are approving of the acts.
- juniorb, on 12/21/2007, -0/+1America is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic.
- schlef, on 01/17/2008, -0/+0That may be logical, but you cannot draw that conclusion from the body of evidence supplied.
