- budlawman, on 01/22/2008, -1/+3IMJ, no question MLK would be unhappy with what has been wrought, perhaps especially that some unworthies (Republicans, for example) have glommed on to his legacy. But wealthy people don't necessarily lose their hearts, and they have better access to the megaphone that is part of what is needed to make significant change. They can be compromised, and yes, Edwards could have donated some of what he spent on his mansion to the poor, but he has been walking the walk at least the last four years, and probably longer, and deserves credit. Think of all the wealthy people who do nothing to alleviate poverty, and those who merely write checks. Edwards is staking his whole campaign on promoting the larger good, taking on corporations, and the media is punishing him for doing so.
- daddy4mak, on 01/22/2008, -3/+4oh right. With that logic, no one can talk about Social Justice. If I say everyone should be fed and not go hungry, do I lose the right to eat dessert?
If I say everyone shoudl have a roof over their head, should I give up my basement that I don't use but once a month? - WaRdRivR, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1ah, unfortunately this is the reason the Democratic Nomination is a two-way competition. I'm sure he isn't too proud of that in hindsight. Well, i guess you reap what you sow.

- lacolonel, on 01/23/2008, -2/+2This endorsement means alot. For the grandson of MLK to endorse Edwards in lieu of Hillary or Obama is indicative of a great deal.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. - Chadh21, on 01/22/2008, -4/+3This is my favorite John Edwards speech.

"Trial lawyers" are absolutely necessary to preserve order and dignity in our legal system.
