- RuffRidr, on 10/09/2008, -1/+2Then why the 2nd Amendment spin on it?
Look, I agree with Barack Obama on many things, including the tax breaks mentioned at the end. There are many good reasons to vote for him. I would not fault anyone if they came up to me and said they voted him for one of those reasons. But if they came up to me and said they voted for him because he is for gun rights, then I would have a problem. Pretending to be a gun rights advocate and a 2nd Amendment supporter, when his legislative accomplishments show the opposite is just dishonest. - fcsnc, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1Are you prepared to lay out the "legislative accomplishments" that prove Obama's claim here to be dishonest? And are you calling the legislative references on the screen at 15 sec. into this clip somehow false or misleading? I have no problem with your calling someone a liar. However, your calling someone a liar does not make it so.
- RuffRidr, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1The ad says that Barack Obama supports people's rights to defend themselves. I guess we can look forward to him enforcing the Heller ruling on his home turf of Chicago then? Can we also look forward to him expanding concealed carry laws across the country, perhaps we could even achieve nationwide reciprocity? Actions speak louder than words.
- fcsnc, on 10/09/2008, -2/+1I don't think the ad was intended to get people excited about Concealed Carry, murder in Chicago neighborhoods, or gunlaw reciprocity. I think the ad was intended to show that we need fundamental change in Washington; that only Barack Obama is offering us that opportunity; and that millions of us--including Greg--recognize those facts.
