- treehugger87, on 06/02/2008, -5/+43Funny, I didn't know Cheney was either.
- frogman54, on 06/02/2008, -5/+35My friend is gay and jewish. I'll have to keep an eye on him.
- Clugenheim, on 06/02/2008, -8/+28This is fine and all, but why is it in the 2008 Election category?
If you're somehow trying to pin this on McCain, then wow. You're worse than the people pinning Wright and others on Obama. McCain denounced the mans endorsement, yet because Lieberman still hangs out with him, and McCain hangs out with Lieberman, it somehow comes back to McCain? C'mon. Get some real dirt on this guy, and stop trying to start *****. - theocracylooms, on 06/02/2008, -4/+24And sometimes those silly things wind up getting millions of people killed. Fancy that.
- elliotys, on 06/02/2008, -4/+23Wait a second, this guy claims that some big guy in the sky controls everything, is very angry, is very wrathful, sent his son to die for our sins (that one still makes no sense to me), the earth was created 6000 years ago, women were created from a mans rib, anyone who doesn't agree with him/God will burn in hell forever, etc. . . .
And this statement is what finally makes us question his judgment? - angusm, on 06/02/2008, -3/+20Pastor Hagee's motto: when you're in a hole, send out for the power shovel.

Why is there no evidence for everything you believe in? - disillusioned, on 06/02/2008, -3/+14Add "fictional" to the list and I'm on board.
- fuhcough, on 06/02/2008, -5/+15Jesus christ WTF is this?
Step 1. Select politician.
Step 2. Dig up their old religious leaders' sermons.
Step 3. Sell to MSM.
Step 4. ????
Step 5. Profit. - inactive, on 06/02/2008, -17/+27That's funny, I always thought Jesus was an anti-establishment gay jew communist blasphemer.
- sgiffy, on 06/02/2008, -10/+19Religious people believe silly things. Who would have thought?
Anyone else notice that we can only tell the really dangerously silly form the just goofy by applying reason to the whole thing. Faith doesn't really help there. - theocracylooms, on 06/02/2008, -9/+17Maybe Hagee thinks Jesus will return as the anti-Christ ?
- chanop, on 06/02/2008, -1/+9Buried, I only want to hear about Obama's church Gaffes
/sarcasm - Kenzan, on 06/02/2008, -2/+9This has about as much relevance as saying the Tooth Fairy was a Porn star.
- CalcProgrammer1, on 06/02/2008, -0/+6Religion is based on stuff in a 2000 year old book, handed down from people. The concept of believing in something "higher" was originally established long before Christianity, when the first humans started questioning the functions of the Earth and of Nature. Obviously, they weren't very logical or anything, so they saw things coming from the Sky and applied their knowledge. They know that living things can move stuff. They figured there must be some creature (or creatures) in the sky that are throwing lightning/rain/snow/etc and controlling other natural occurrences. As time progressed, the smarter humans realized that things behaved a certain way due to explainable atmospheric functions such as air currents, heat from the Sun (which they found out wasn't alive, just a giant ball of plasma). By studying the fossils and bones of dead organisms, they found tangible proof that evolution could have existed (no such proof has EVER been found for religion, just a bunch of "believers" saying they "feel" God...but obviously that is a lie, since God cannot be "felt" as "he" is just an idea, not a physical object. Even if you do believe that he is real, it would be hard to feel someone who is miles above your head in the sky. If you want proof for evolution, just look at the fossil record, genetic mutations, pictures of the similarities between different animals. Look at how body forms seem to gradually change from simple sea creatures into fish and then into reptiles, then other animals such as mammals and birds. If that's not proof, I don't know what is!
- kidtwist, on 06/02/2008, -1/+7I thought the Antichrist was supposed to be someone who would fool even the righteous. Why is it when fundamentalists peg someone as the Antichrist it's always the sort of person they would regard as evil right off the bat?
- davewashere, on 06/02/2008, -3/+8McCain denounced him after seeking him out. He needed to wedge his way in to the Religious Right, and he saw Hagee as the opportunity to do that. He ignored the warning signs, including a career full of hate-mongering, because Hagee was going to help him get that huge chunk of conservative America that was having trouble believing McCain was a devout Christian.
Even after the various Hagee sermons started popping up around the internet, McCain waited it out. It took him months before he decided that he was better off cutting Hagee loose and losing some of the Religious Right than risk losing a huge piece of moderate America.
I don't believe that the Wright situation is any worse than the Hagee situation. Rev. Wright is kind of like that older cousin that you once respected when you were young but has become a bitter old drunk and an embarassment to the family. It's hard to let go of someone you've known for so long and is part of your family, but they seem to get crazier and crazier each week. I know Obama did not want to turn his back on an old friend, but Rev. Wright really forced him to by not shutting the F up. Hagee, on the other hand, was a solicited endorsement. He and McCain have little history together, which is why McCain should have had his team do a little more research on Hagee before parading him about as a featured supporter of his bid for the White House. - RealmDown, on 06/02/2008, -2/+7Gewishy

Can you show me, using this doll, where God touched you? - noahhoward, on 06/02/2008, -3/+8You believe that, rather than complex organisms needing millions of years to form, a magical man in the sky snapped his fingers and conjured it all out of thin air in seven days. You believe this magical man removed a rib from Adam and formed woman-kind from it. You believe there is a flying chest of stone tablets that can obliterate armies. You believe Israel flows with milk and honey.
Let me know when you start to feel kind of stupid. - rowlodge, on 06/02/2008, -3/+8obviously no one here even cracks open the pages of a bible once in awhile.
- zephc, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5Still crazy after all these years.
- nitsuj, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4Nobody claims that the universe exploded from nothing.
Really, the only difference between creationists and atheists regarding the birth of the universe is that us atheists generally think that the universe came about through natural, but as yet unknown, processes and means - likely non-sentient until we find out otherwise.
Creationists or ID'ers claim that the unknown cause is a sentient being of some kind although are unable to provide solid evidence for this claim. - BossKey, on 06/02/2008, -1/+5I have identified the enemy Hagee seeks to destroy.
A man of a Jewish family, and suspiciously...he NEVER dated women.
His name was Jesus Christ. - elliotys, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4lol, of course not.
- insanebrain, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4 . .but he is gay.
- BoneheadFarker, on 06/02/2008, -2/+6I have. Interesting read...but the whole plot falls apart midway through. I liked the ending though, with all the carnage and mayham...

- nitsuj, on 06/02/2008, -2/+5Evidence for the latter, none for the former.

They're huffing something that's for sure. - skribble, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4It's funny, because it's my understanding that if you *really* believed that, and all that goes along with it, then it really shouldn't matter much to you what everyone else thinks.
- inactive, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4I read it all the time - it is my favorite fantasy novel.
- Trublmakr, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4I prefer Dr. Seuss books because the characters are more creatively imagined and they know how to rhyme.

Copy and paste much? http://www.icr.org/article/293%20/
Why should we believe anything from a creationist propaganda site?
Regardless, the 'MYTH''s presented are either strawmen or show a naive ignorance of the field - usually by discounting countless other dating methods that align with the results that carbon dating give. The claim that no artifacts have been found > 5k years old is an outright lie.
Also, really, shame on you for believing in a < 6k years Earth and the flood in this day and age.
There is not one piece of evidence, NOT ONE!, for the biblical flood and the idea is a total absurdity.
Coming back to your earlier posting:
"Proof is a stupid word and documents can be faked but if you go your whole life believing everything that scientists say you would still think cigarettes are good for you."
Nobody claims 'proof'. Proof is for the realms of mathematics, not science. Also you fail to realize that it is scientific study and scrutiny that has shown that cigarettes are damaging to health.
If I were you, I'd reevaluate the caricature of science and scientists that you have in your head. - omgTHEPATRIOTS, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3gay, german and jewish?? Ach ja, it's Funkyzeit mit Bruno!!!

- mrsteveman1, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4Lady america, i dont ***** care about any of that *****.
Show me the alternative? McCain? hes completely worthless now.
He's been whoring out to the jesus crowd to get elected so ***** him.
Clinton isn't worth defending either, so don't act like shes somehow better, she and her husband have done plenty of questionable things but i look past all of them because they are INSIGNIFICANT compared to the job in question, president of the united states.
The same is true of all this Obama crap, i DON'T CARE, this stuff isn't even remotely important. - nitsuj, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3@republicker
Carbon dating is a delicate process. Any flaw you'll be able to cite though is known about and catered for. The scientists who perform this kind of dating are not clueless idiots despite how thinking of them as such helps to support your world view.
Time and time again it has shown, if done correctly and with care, to be highly accurate. It is corroborated with several other dating methods.
If you have any specific cases please present them. I'm certain they'll be classical creationist propaganda sitings and will be trivial to debunk.
Finally, this is not the only "proof" for evolution but just a part of the puzzle. The part that gives accurate date readings for organic material upto a limit which far exceeds the time lines set out by young Earth creationists. - defwheezer, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3Bible? It's just a bunch a paper. I read the Constitution instead, it's much more "Enlightened".
- feliks2, on 06/02/2008, -2/+5"sent his son to die for our sins (that one still makes no sense to me)"
And the others do? - insanebrain, on 06/02/2008, -3/+6No . .he was a lie.
- noahhoward, on 06/02/2008, -4/+7What was anti-white about that again? It sounded anti-entitlement to me, if a little confused about why some people are better off than others.
