Joe Lierberman has now taken to defending Pres. Bush's decision to allow WATERBOARDING against detainees at Guantanamo and secret CIA gulags around the world!
WATERBOARDING is among the WAR CRIMES for which NAZI PRISON GUARDS were convicted of inflicting on POWs during WW2 !!!
Lieberman now claims that waterboarding (a.k.a. mock execution by drowning) is no big deal!

Previously, Lieberman had called waterboarding "torture". But, now that waterboarding has been admitted to by Bush & Cheney and called "useful" and "necessary" for their "war on terror", Lieberman now defends the practice.
Will Sen. Liebermann be sending out apology letters to families of Nazis prison guards who were convicted (wrongly in Lieberman's opinion apparently), jailed and even executed for the "crime" of waterboarding prisoners during WW2???

Lieberman is even willing to stoop to defending NAZI WAR TACTICS, if their use might in some way help to eliminate some potential national security threats that might exist to the state of Israel. Lieberman has been a consistent advocate for more war in Iraq and Iran and for suspending int'l law and civil liberties of detainees, anf other means deemed necessary by the neocons to fight the so-called "war on terror". Though we now know that Iraq NEVER posed any serious military threat to the national security of the USA, and Iran doesn't have any capability of harming America either, Iraq was, and the Iranian regime still is, a treat to the national security of Israel. All of which explains Lieberman's continued call for more use of US military (US tax dollars) for endless wars occupations of both Iraq & Iran!
While Americans spend TRILLION$, waste thousands of American lives, weaken our military, earn scorn from the rest of the civilized world, and further inflame radical elements in the Middle East - thus WEAKENING AMERICAN NATIONAL SECURITY - Israelis remain secure and free from potential threat from Iraq or Iran thanks to Uncle Sam - free to enjoy their birth-to-death national health care and their BILLION$ in annual US military subsidies on top of that! What do we in America get for all this? We get to pay the bill (in dollars & lives) for decades to come!
What a great bargain for Israel, huh? All thanks to neocon pro-Likud Party moles in the US government: Joe Lieberman, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Don Rumsfeld , etc!
The Department of Homeland Security was originally Lieberman's idea too. A multi-billion dollar boondoggle pushed through Congress after 9/11 - patterned after anti-terrorism measures in Israel! As if, the USA could ever be under the level of existential threat from terrorist attacks that the state of Israel endures on a regular basis because of hostile neighbors living on its borders! Are radical Islamic terrorists really likely to start attacking shopping malls and airport baggage carousels with suicide bombers in Omaha or Des Moines like they do in Tel Aviv? Probably a few targets closer to home for them, don't you think?
