1) Since when did we start determining our foreign policy based on what some bearded goat-herding Islamist douche-bags think? Making a bunch of third-worlders THINK we're winning the occupation is now a reason for sending our men to be injured and killed?
2) Just for the hell of it, let's take it from an insurgent's POV. "I'm so pissed about this occupation I'm willing to risk (or deliberately sacrifice) my life to fight US troops" [Reads that the US Congress has mandated the withdrawal of troops in 9 months] "Well *****, guess this battle's already over. My life would be better spent fighting the Shiite militias."
So my question for the Liebermanites who love to throw around this argument like candy at a parade is: Are Americans fighting and dying A) to save face? or B) so the Iranian-backed Shiite militias don't have to? - flernk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Of course, Boehner would like us to forget that he regularly contributes RedState.com. In their little green world, right-wing blogs, talk radio hosts, and cable news outlets are just presenting a "fair and balanced" perspective. But anything critical of their warmongering politics is suddenly "toxic."

I think the difference with most of Israel and even here is that we're ready to denounce those who stand in the way of peace on principle, even if they are Jews. Olmert has some 3% popularity there -- how he remains in power is a crime in and of itself.
