- DoraJones2, on 06/22/2008, -2/+0It may be the year of the Third Party, but lord help us if Barr is elected...
He's just McCain lite... - inactive, on 06/15/2008, -4/+2Barr is right and I can't believe I wrote that.
I worked the campaign that removed him from Congress.
That having been said he sees the America I see. Most people know that there's not much difference between Obama and McCain. The sheer number of times they cast votes on the same side of issues is startling.
About the best thing that can be said about Obama is that he isn't Bush.

Both have violated their oath of office. Both have voted to fund the Iraq use of force and to keep the funds off budget. Both have supported the usurpations of our rights via the so called patriot act. Both have decided that "shall not be infringed" has been stricken from the 2ND Amendment. Both have voted for deficit spending, even when it was clear that such spending will result in economic hardship.
Yes, this could be the year for third party candidates.
One of my friends who registered to vote for the first time in his life to support Ron Paul in the primary has informed me he will vote third party.
There are at least a million more like him who got involved this year because it seemed hope was on the horizon.
Now it seems the only hope for change is in a third party candidate.
