- blindhammer, on 02/26/2009, -49/+364Oh look, it's Digg's daily Legalize Pot and Save the Economy! article. Yay!
- RooC10, on 02/26/2009, -15/+269Marijuana killed my father, and raped my mother.
- RJ0534, on 02/26/2009, -11/+251Digg should just start a category dedicated entirely to marijuana.
- Zervaman, on 02/26/2009, -16/+255Yes, time to legalize the one drug that hasn't killed anyone.
- joe3082, on 02/26/2009, -19/+243LEGALIZE and help the economy!!!
- Michael9636, on 02/26/2009, -15/+213This is so overdue!
- RooC10, on 02/26/2009, -41/+214I am appalled at this being hosted on digg. The users will never stand for such lunacy!
- davethe1st, on 02/26/2009, -10/+175Repealing prohibition helped us out of the first Great Depression, it only makes sense to allow Pot to step up to the plate.
- WindWalker84, on 02/26/2009, -5/+130also Marijuana caused the extinction of dinosaurs.
- WindWalker84, on 02/26/2009, -5/+101Marijuana is the only reason why the holocaust happened.
- biffen, on 02/26/2009, -7/+96Marijuana gave me AIDS.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -16/+98If Millions of people are breaking a law doing something they enjoy, the people dont need to change, the law does.
Weed is easier to get than alcohol and tobacco, especially for young kids.
More people are smoking weed than indulging in alcohol and tobacco.
Weed has killed nobody, while alcohol and tobacco have killed millions.
Why has this not been legalized yet?
We spend billions to prevent people from doing drugs that have little to no ill effects on their body, but millions of more people are intaking this drug every year, liking it, and continuing its usage. - lightningbolt, on 02/26/2009, -2/+82triple win! we get to smoke weed too!!!
- dirtridr, on 02/26/2009, -3/+74This is the second version of the great depression. First it was alcohol that saved us, now it will be marijuana
- angelgabe, on 02/26/2009, -1/+65I'm still trying to find that brand of weed that they advertise on TV, the one that makes you melt to your couch. That stuff looks AWESOME!
- etx313, on 02/26/2009, -2/+65Howard Stern was saying this yesterday. I don't smoke pot, but I'm all for this.
- Satualanus69, on 02/26/2009, -2/+64Marijuana is the DEVILS pubic hair!
- Qbryzan, on 02/26/2009, -6/+68Indeed, the war on drugs is getting really old. Legalize it already, and we won't have to hear any more of these stories.
- Solkre, on 02/26/2009, -3/+64Too many lives have been ruined by the laws surrounding a plant that's safer to the population than ***** alcohol.
- calypsoschnitzl, on 02/26/2009, -5/+65Is the U.S. finally beginning to move into the 21th century?
- sabach, on 02/26/2009, -3/+63Marijuana drank all of my beer.
- bobburn1, on 02/26/2009, -3/+63Marijuana rigged the 2000 election for Bush.
- mysn239, on 02/26/2009, -3/+57Marijuana hates blacks.

- calebian, on 02/26/2009, -9/+57common sense? Washington will never go for that
- dougfnny24, on 02/26/2009, -3/+49Another one who listened during his DARE program.
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -5/+50Its great to see how much media appeal this is getting nowadays, its even better that its not a "refeer madness" piece.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -1/+44In the 1920s, millions of alcohol users circumvented the law by making their own booze or drinking in speakeasies. They enriched and empowered organized crime in the process.
But now that booze is legal, how many people bother to make their own? You underestimate the power of convenience. - Bchiz, on 02/26/2009, -4/+44It may not seem like it, but even digging this story and getting these long discussions about the topic is helping. The more people talk about it the less tabboo the idea will seem. Keep up the good work diggers.
- rentmitchum, on 02/26/2009, -2/+40Cannabis planned 9/11, and is currently plotting 9/11 times a million.
- tehchieftain, on 02/26/2009, -3/+41If me smoking cannabis at a higher price benefits schools, roads, and medical care to name a few, I am more than willing to pay the extra.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -4/+42They'll be posted as long as there's a problem. As they should be.

"Drug Supported School Zone" - juzsp, on 02/26/2009, -1/+37Marijuana made me write this comment.
- Prasheed, on 02/26/2009, -2/+35Get high for the children!!!
- wunderdog, on 02/26/2009, -4/+36Legalize it, regulate it, tax it.
- fyngyrz, on 02/26/2009, -2/+33DNA evidence proved it was actually the government.
- ImOnYourTeam, on 02/26/2009, -0/+28CBS News, bitches
- Cowmin, on 02/26/2009, -1/+29I won a DARE essay contest in sixth grade. After being anti-drug for most of my young life, I now smoke as often as I can and I'm a little bit bitter that I was brainwashed into believing such *****.
- groo68, on 02/26/2009, -1/+28But then these stories would just preach to the choir even more than now. the point of them is to reach as many people as possible and persuade them to support marijuana reform or at least not oppose it.
- XkenX87, on 02/26/2009, -2/+29but blacks love marijuana
- GovernmentsGun, on 02/26/2009, -4/+31@dougfnny24
Seriously, I'm kind of pissed that they tried to propagandize me with DARE when I was a kid. I mean, seriously, they worked to drill information into me, knowing that I was too young to really think critically about the information.
But, I guess that's the way things work. As a culture, we work to drill things into kids heads without critical though; especially in ideas of patriotism. - calebian, on 02/26/2009, -2/+29what about when you choke to death trying to swallow it while a cop walks up to your car window? hence the need for change. too many a fellow has this done happeth to.
- fyngyrz, on 02/26/2009, -3/+30Marijuana doesn't kill people. Criminals created by anti-marijuana laws kill people. Cops kill people.
Your government, doing you a huge disservice, with your money.
Welcome to the machine. - inactive, on 02/26/2009, -1/+27I enjoy them!
- Pseudorious, on 02/26/2009, -20/+46I support legalization from a libertarian standpoint, but this article is inaccurate from two positions:
1. Unless it will save $1.75 - $4 Trillion, it will not save the economy by itself.
2. Marijuana users have already shown their willingness to circumvent criminal law to use. What is their incentive to obey tax law?
Wait, I change my position. I would only support legalization if non-prescription users were excluded from all welfare programs. Sorry, I'm just not going to pay for you to sit around stoned all day on welfare. Job holding pot smokers, I support you. - vat0r, on 02/26/2009, -0/+23Weed is very easy to grow. GOOD weed is NOT easy to grow.
- the2989, on 02/26/2009, -3/+25In Soviet Russia...weed ***** YOU!
