- ChristPissed, on 07/08/2008, -36/+323Dennis is one of the few sane voices in Congress who is loyal to his Country and Constitution. He also does not carry "dual-citizenship'.
- inactive, on 07/08/2008, -32/+226Impeachment is the right thing to do, even this late in the game we (as a country) have to stand up for what's right and lawful. There are checks and balances for a reason. Bush's unchecked power over his terms should have consequences, this is the first step.
- pintomp3, on 07/09/2008, -16/+125it's sad that he is virtually alone in fighting for justice and the restoration of checks and balances.
- chrissku, on 07/09/2008, -26/+132Run for President again in 2012 and I'll vote for you Dennis. You've earned my vote sir.
- ravenf, on 07/09/2008, -26/+97At least Dennis tries to stand up for the people... Bush and his gang bang should be voted off the planet! Not only is he f'ing his country, but f'ing the planet!
- jeexbit, on 07/09/2008, -20/+86Bless you Dennis! If the rest of this nation's politicos had a fraction of your integrity and vision, this world would be a vastly improved place.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -6/+68Run out of Cleveland? Do you even know the story? He refused to sell Muni Light to CEI. Then Cleveland Trust, which had significant holdings in CEI, tried to strong arm him by defaulting all of the city's loans. Because of this bankruptcy, he lost the next election in 1979. It was political suicide. Lo and behold some years later the city council honored him for SAVING THE CITY $195 MILLION DOLLARS from 1985 to 1995 due to this decision. It goes to show that he valued making the right choice more than winning the next election, which is more than can be said for 99.99999% of politicians. Meanwhile, California deregulates its energy market in the mid 90's. Guess what we ended up with? The Energy Crisis of 2000-2001.
Wait, why am I even trying to use facts on you? Pointless. - AtHomeBoy2000, on 07/09/2008, -19/+64COngress, grow some nuts and impeach Bush!
- MrTito, on 07/09/2008, -18/+55Keep on keepin' on, Dennis.
- AshScholl, on 07/08/2008, -13/+48Do I detect some jealousy?
- rmmcclay, on 07/09/2008, -5/+39Bush can still be held accountable by the people AFTER he leaves office. Dennis is doing the right thing by getting articles into the record. They can serve as a very strong foundation for future actions against Bush, Cheney and their corrupt and criminal administration.
People who dismiss this as being an exercise in futility are a big part of the problem of unaccountability afaic. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -16/+49Somebody's got to do it. Even if its not that practical, at least make the statement.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -3/+32Seriously. Why the ***** should the most powerful person in the country be punished for his actions? Why should the government waste time prosecuting corruption and war crimes when it could be stuffing a couple more telecom immunity bills through?
- NelsonR, on 07/09/2008, -16/+41I wish Kucinich success but we all know it's hopeless. Tomorrow watch most of your elected officials voting for the new FISA bill. Our democracy is corroded with corruption bought and paid for by Corporate America. VOTE THOSE WHO VOTE FOR IT OUT OF OFFICE.
The U.S. is not a Democracy it is corruption personified with most incumbents plain old crooks that reek of stench. - cheezintern, on 07/09/2008, -10/+35what's insane is this hasn't been brought sooner, like 3 years sooner.
- pintomp3, on 07/09/2008, -2/+27Specifically, it was the Cleveland Trust Company that required all of the city's debts be paid in full, which forced the city into default, after news of Kucinich's refusal to sell the city utility. For years these debts were routinely rolled over, pending future payment, until Kucinich's announcement was made public. In 1998 the council honored him for having the "courage and foresight" to stand up to the banks and saving the city an estimated $195 million between 1985 and 1995.

- InetRoadkill, on 07/09/2008, -5/+27Is it too late to run him instead of Obama? Obama lost my support when he cast his lot by supporting Bush and FISA instead of the Bill of Rights.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -3/+24The Right never met a fact.
- monkeyrun, on 07/09/2008, -6/+27And what will Obama do?
Change(tm) we can believe in. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -4/+24First of all, let's stop pretending like Congress is so busy passing useful legislation that they can't spare a minute of their time to impeach someone who has violated almost every ideal held sacred in this country by the country's elected leader.
Though I do love your attitude of "Meh, who cares? A couple thousand dead people means nothing if it could possibly affect my candidate's chances at election!"
No wonder this country is ***** up. The statute of limitations for mass murder and violation of the Constitution by a government official (what some might call high treason) is apparently 7 years. - Minarchian, on 07/09/2008, -10/+28I like Vincent Bugliosi’s idea of trying these criminals for murder when they get out of office.
- Viend, on 07/09/2008, -5/+23It means you are not devoted to one country. Worse, a number of congressmen have Israeli citizenship. This is why we are Israel's bitch.
If you look at my profile and it says I am from Malaysia, I am an American citizen currently living in this corner of the world. - illmonkey, on 07/09/2008, -7/+22Valiant effort sir, but Bush has already pardoned himself.
- Me1000, on 07/09/2008, -2/+16I agree, we waste so much money occupying Iraq, about time someone did something about the insane man that lied to us in order to start it.
- InetRoadkill, on 07/09/2008, -6/+19It's the right thing to do and long overdue. It's a shame that the democrats have no balls and worse still have transformed themselves into a sister party of the GOP rather than an opposition party.
The Founding Fathers were brilliant and thoughtful men. But I guess they never anticipated that their system of checks and balances would be so horribly corrupted as to become a historical footnote with no practical meaning. - jlfb, on 07/09/2008, -3/+16SPORTSSTAR67: Perhaps you would benefit from refining your criteria regarding just who is and who is not a "midget." In this context, a "midget" is a serial violator of human rights, and a "giant" is anyone with the cajones to stand up for basic human decency. Bush and his rabid supporters= "midgets", Kucinich= "giant" True heroism lies not in the wanton disregard of the rule of law, destroying an entire nation based on lies, and the ultimate in immorality; war profiteering, but rather opposing such depravity regardless of the political consequences.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/bushswar/ - TheFlamingCow, on 07/09/2008, -2/+14Kilofox,
There could be enough political pressure from republicans (as well as the huge majority of the world's population) who have had it up to here with insane spending, lies, and their children dying that the congress does convict him. Besides, who knows what else they might be able to dig up, were they allowed to investigate? But in the end, it doesn't matter impeaching him end in conviction or not. It's about doing the right thing. It's about fighting for our rights, and setting an example for the future.
Fellow Diggers, how many great accomplishments can we think of for Kilofox that came to fruition against seemingly impossible odds? I'll start: The Civil Rights Movement. (What if the people involved said, "Aw, f*ck it, we can't win, we shouldn't even try..."?) - charm803, on 07/09/2008, -1/+12I'd rather support someone who believes in UFO's then to support someone who is looking for invisible WMDs and starting illegal wars.
Believing in UFO's didn't kill you, now did it? - vuke69, on 07/09/2008, -2/+12No.... You've got it all wrong.
Impeachment is for blowjobs, and spying on political rivals. We have war crimes tribunals for things of this sort. - kingUssop, on 07/09/2008, -16/+26This is why he has a hot wife.
- Diderotten, on 07/09/2008, -1/+10He is one of the few republicans talking about and supporting Kucinich's cause.
- SmidleyDigg, on 07/09/2008, -6/+15I'm still writing Ron in!
- x0epyon0x, on 07/09/2008, -2/+11How is presenting an incriminating body of evidence before this country's legislative body an idiotic decision? Sure, it may get swept under the rug, but he's more a patriot than those neocons who espouse patriotism and give the Bush Administration carte blanche to do whatever.
- EnSvensk, on 07/09/2008, -9/+18What's so bad about 'dual-citizenship'?
- InetRoadkill, on 07/09/2008, -1/+10But that was before Obama decided to grab his ankles for the telcos instead of actually standing up for the change he's based his campaign on. If the primaries were still underway or if the FISA vote had come much earlier, the primary outcome would likely have been very different.
- catcher6250, on 07/09/2008, -5/+13The Bush administration forced the CIA into shaping evidence to support the Iraq war. The information was false! Bush used false information into a major presidential speech to convince the people there was a need to go to war!
YOU WANT TO SEE THE FACTS? GO HERE:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/bushswar/ - InetRoadkill, on 07/09/2008, -1/+9I'm not ignoring it all. The Founding Fathers didn't anticipate that political parties would form and protect members of their own party from impeachment. Even worse, they didn't anticipate that the two parties would use impeachment as a bargaining chip to be bartered instead of as a failsafe against a tyrant holding the office of president hostage.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+10It means you can run....
- x0epyon0x, on 07/09/2008, -5/+13Other meaningful legislation, such as hearing testimony relating to steroid use in MLB? I mean, without those hearings, or Congress's extensive vacations, how else will we lower gas prices, end the war in Iraq, and save our crumbling economy?
- Vektuz, on 07/09/2008, -1/+8war with iran is not inevetable
- jeffbw, on 07/09/2008, -2/+9We need to impeach the Congress that keeps sending his articles to the Judiciary Committee to die. And the Congress that is about to shred the Fourth Amendment. Get rid of 'em all.
- Nova437, on 07/09/2008, -9/+16Tell Congress and the Judiciary Committee that you want Dennis Kucinich’s 36th article to be taken more seriously than the prior 35. Sign the petition below to have your name added to a list which will be emailed to the Judiciary Committee if the 36th article is voted there, which it almost certainly will be.
36th Article Petition: http://hotfixamerica.com/?page_id=18 - McHoffa, on 07/09/2008, -1/+8how in the hell did this turn into a discussion on racism??? because caponumen said "boy"?? wow, this is just sad...
- stretta, on 07/09/2008, -7/+13Actually, it is well-documented that Bush had the goal first: Invade Iraq, then cherry-picked the intelligence to support his goal. This is what was presented to Congress.
But, actually, I agree with you. We need to file articles of impeachment against everyone in congress who voted for the unconstitutional FISA Amendment of 2008. I could get behind that.
These people are not acting in the best interests of the country and they all must go. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6Napoleon was 5'6", which was average height for his time.
- greengarfield, on 07/09/2008, -2/+8making promises like that 4 years in advance is *****...why didn't u vote for him this year???
- Zeag, on 07/09/2008, -1/+7If only that was some sort of joke...
Alas, it is not. - jaznova, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6Pentagon spokesman Brian Whitman:
Yellowcake uranium is a commonly traded commodity used for nuclear power generation. It is not enriched and cannot be used without first going through a complicated enrichment process, he said, but because of the unstable nature of Iraq, the United States and the Iraqi government decided it should be moved out of that country.
