- blindhammer, on 07/09/2008, -4/+26If Kucinich could shoot laser beams out of his eyes, the world would probably be a better place. Probably.
- EnviroChem, on 05/22/2009, -5/+26Every day that goes by I start to like Kucinich better and better. In 2004 while all the other candidates sent surrogates to the Portland Maine caucuses, Kucinich was there in person shaking everyone's hands as they entered. I was thinking who is this short geeky looking guy when I shook his hand. Now I know who he is and I really like the guts he has.

Articles of impeachment against Cheney:
http://yellowcakewalk.net/articles_of_impeachment_ ... - janthes, on 07/10/2008, -5/+20Go Kucinich, GO!!!
- KMartSheriff, on 07/10/2008, -1/+15***** all you nay-sayers. All you do is scream "nothing will ever come of this blah blah blah". What the hell are you doing about it? You're lazy and submissive, just accepting (but not liking) the truth. "It's too hard to fight Uncle Sam, so we should just give up and be armchair jockies on Digg telling people not to bother."
You seriously think 1 voice can't make a difference? At least he's doing something about. Trying, if nothing else. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -8/+17Hahahahaha?
Really?
Uh, *****, congression ratings are so low because they aren't doing what the public wants, namely to hold Bush & company accountable for their lies and actions.
How ***** stupid are you that you think it's a joke to hold responsible those who have betrayed our country?
Man, you rightard ***** are cheering every time a Bushie gets away with something corrupt.
Are you proud that?
Do you feel good knowing that you are cheering the fact that criminals are running free?
No wonder you ***** can only fail.
Let me guess: you are another of the right wing asshats who cheer for war but are too cowardly to enlist.
How proud you must be. Do you call your kids and laugh about about Bush got away with another one?
What are you teaching them? That being a criminal is ok as long as there are a lot of unethical and immoral people to cheer you on?
Typical rightrard. - SatoriSeeker, on 07/10/2008, -4/+12You can count the number of real patriots in congress on a single hand.
Don't get fooled next time we have a chance to vote people!
Kucinich, Ron Paul, Mike Gravel, and the like are marginalized by the media because they represent real change. Do not let your views of the players be painted for you by the mainstream media. Get as many real facts as you can and form your own conclusions. The answers become much clearer that way. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -6/+13Unlike Republicans he actually works.
If you aren't always on vacation you get a lot done. - STPZ, on 07/10/2008, -5/+10He already introduced 35!...maybe things need to be short and sweet so that the public will pay attention
hows this: Bush = Criminal therefore Impeach the criminal //ARE YOU LISTENING!! - pintomp3, on 07/10/2008, -1/+6seeking justice and restoring checks and balances is such a waste of time.
- fuzzybeard, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Zero. They're both Senators.
- pintomp3, on 07/10/2008, -4/+9seeking justice is "witch hunting"?
- pintomp3, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5unless his district is outside of the US, these issues effect them too.
- askantik, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4What would you suggest?
He co-authored the only decent healthcare bill, he supports impeachment, a Department of Peace, he supports green jobs (and not *****... we're talking FDR-style stuff), and he supports things others won't even touch, like, for example, the legalization of hemp, which is one of the most versatile, easy-growing fibers on the planet. But our government is afraid of it, because it looks like marijuana.
The man has got balls. A real man does what's right because it's right, whether or not it is popular and whether or not it might succeed. It is a matter of principle and it demonstrates Kucinich's integrity and his desire to defend the nation he represents. - askantik, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3It amazes you that he puts effort into it... would you prefer he sat around with his finger in his ass like most of our representatives?
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -4/+7BUSH=FAIL
- KMartSheriff, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3O_o
I'm sorry, can someone please help me understand how gas prices come into this equation? - NomortaL1, on 07/10/2008, -1/+4because itll look good when he runs for president in 2012
- ginestony, on 07/10/2008, -3/+6not only are the peoples' voices never heard in washington, the big people that represent the little people get ignored and laughed at. It's frustrating to be an american citizen sometimes.
- GilThielander, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2"valuable Congressional time" -- I've never heard that oxymoron before, nice work!
- askantik, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2lol, so you're saying Congress has a poor approval rating and associating that with Kucinich? Kucinich is pretty much one of a kind... you have your right to say you don't like him or whatever, but you can't say he's the reason why Congressional approval is low.
- askantik, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Ok, first of all, if you spend $700/mo on gas, you live way too ***** far from work or you drive a Hummer or something. Besides that, our gas is STILL cheap compared to most countries, so please stop whining.
Furthermore, your "tax money" is not spent when Kucinich walks out on the floor. He isn't paid hourly, and therefore, he gets no more of your money whether he introduces articles than if he sat on his lame ass like the rest of Congress. So please stop bitching. Support a man who actually does something.
And finally, do you want to know why we're in a war? Why gas is $4 per gallon? Or why we are in a recession? What about the housing crisis, global warming, and high healthcare? Bush is to blame for this because he knowingly misled us into a war for oil and Kucinich seeks a fair trial so that justice can be brought. All Kucinich is asking for is a trial. Even Congressmembers who don't support impeachment should support a trial if they want to stop hearing about it. If Bush is innocent as they proclaim, a trial would highlight Bush's innocence and put an end to what they think is a nuiscane: impeachment.
But they won't do that, because they know he's guilty, so they just make up excuses about how "impeachment is off the table," or they have better things to do. Really? Very little meaningful legislation has been passed by this Congress, so what exactly is taking up so much of their time that they can't address something as serious as impeachment? - askantik, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Kucinich has impeachment articles for Cheney, too.
- pintomp3, on 07/10/2008, -1/+3you are forgetting the most important part of impeachment: restoration of checks and balances. since the nixon impeachment, cheney and rove have been working hard to aggregate more powers into the executive branch. the executive branch now as more power and less oversight than at any point in our history. the extra powers and tools accumulated will be inherited by the next president, who is unlikely to relinquish them voluntarily.
- GTKashi, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2It would be folly to consider this unimportant. Sure, impeaching Bush is not likely to have much effect on the "war" as it is, and brings you no closer to your solar panels.
You may not care what the rest of the world thinks, but impeaching Bush is just as much about justice as it is international relations. Congress needs to impeach Bush, if only to prove to the rest of the world that it is willing to try and uphold our country's own laws. - drinking12many, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Or maybe congress shouldnt start a proceeding to impeach because ANY crime they could feasibly throw at him they are equally guilty of. Not that i think hes guilty of anything i could think of 10 reasons other than wmd that we should have invaded iraq, but then again im old enough to remember why they were a pain in the ass to start with.
- Elranzer, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Didn't Obama say he would voluntarily relinquish all of the illegal powers Bush had acquired to the presidency? H e said this earlier this year, I wonder his stance on that now.
- askantik, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1I didn't even read the rest of your comment because Kucinich is about as far from Libertarian as you can get, nutjob.
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -2/+3So, if you don't vote, Bush will still be in office? You do realize his term is up right? He's not running?
- Shirleycakes, on 07/10/2008, -2/+3Seriously. Where was this wen we first learned about the WMD lie? Where was this when the wiretapping information was leaked. *****, congress makes me sick.
- pintomp3, on 07/10/2008, -1/+2he resigned just before it went to the senate:
On Saturday, July 27, the House Judiciary Committee approved its first article of impeachment charging President Nixon with obstruction of justice. Six of the Committee's 17 Republicans joined all 21 Democrats in voting for the article. The following Monday the Committee approved its second article charging Nixon with abuse of power. The next day, the third and final article, contempt of Congress, was approved.
http://www.historyplace.com/unitedstates/impeachme ... - floorman56, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1You bet it will never work
10 min after the congress says it's going to impeach Bush's defense subpoenas every Dem who said Iraq had WMD's in the 90's while there was still a GOV BUSH ( and it's a long one) .... Then because they are now a witness they cant stand in judgment . and because there are no alternative "jury" that means members of congress MUST STEP DOWN so state governors can pick new representatives so that the impeachments can go forward
You think they are gong to do that? - Abram730, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Didn't the Democratic Congress give Bush a blanket of immunity for his war crimes?
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Some of us just live in the real world, where we have real issues to deal with. We would prefer our congressmen address the real issues that they might be able to solve.
- jman8888, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1lying to the american public (I did not have relations) isnt an offence. To me all lying is lying Iraq or Monica both should have been gone
- Abram730, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1War profits have no party as they all except bribes!!!
- inactive, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1Ummm. Clinton was impeached for lying. But as long as you're a Dem, I guess that's cool...
- UTKEngineer, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr88gkQ-QMY
Why is he only going after bush? Why doesn't he go after Edwards, Pelosi, Clinton, and everyone else who was furiously banging on the war drums in the run up to the Iraqi invasion?
The simple answer is he's just another attention whore politician who's trying to distract the American public from what really matters by handwaving and wasting the little time Congress actually spends working by bringing the same crap to the floor 36 times. - Shirleycakes, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1There's a difference in that they stopped saying / thinking that when it turned out to not be true. How long did it take the Bush administration to come to terms with it, and quickly defend the illegal war on other grounds?
- caseycoold, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Would it be ok to kill a guy who steals a loaf of bread from a store?
NO.
It's wrong, there are consequences (and maybe some day we will evolve far enough to say "hey, I wonder why that guy was stealing bread?"), but you don't kill him.
Saddam was a murderer, but so is Bush. They tried (kinda) Saddam, now let us try dubya. - Lazydriver, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Sure woulda been nice to delay the revision of FISA, ya know, to kill off the telecoms and vote out the traitors?
- Elranzer, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1As long as it's over something worthwhile, not as stupid as say... a blowjob.
- hockeyav, on 07/10/2008, -2/+3Ugh, why couldn't it have been Kucinich instead of Obama with the party nomination
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -11/+11 Not going to happen, Americans!
- EllenO, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0It's unimportant because the majority of the country, while disliking the administration greatly (as i do) do not see him as a CLEAR criminal. I'm not saying you're on a fringe, but you're a minority.
To GilThielander : Exactly my point. Satisfaction levels are low because all we see congress doing is filibusters and bull. I want the democrats to step up as much as any of you, but people want to see them busy. - inactive, on 07/10/2008, -3/+3The guy has less of a chance than Ron Paul, and thats pathetic.
- diggitydad, on 07/10/2008, -1/+1After which if the full house had voted and approved at least one article of impeachment, there would have been an impeachment. (Assuming resignation does not mung up the process.)
- kemp34, on 07/10/2008, -1/+1Anyone who would bash Kucinich for this is a partisan hack, Anti-American idiot. Bush clearly DECEIVED US INTO WAR. Do you want all future presidents to be able to operate on this precedent? Idiots.
- TheInformer, on 07/10/2008, -2/+2Why doesn't Kucinich do something positive, something that will have a positive impact? What are the chances of his "impeachment" actually coming to fruition? Zilch. He's blowing hot air. Come to think of it, since he is actually doing nothing while in Congress, maybe this impeachment thing will deflect people paying attention to his do-nothingness.
