Kucinich: Impeaching Cheney first step to restoring the rule of law
rawstory.com — Kucinich is usually too radical for me, but he's right on about impeaching Cheney.

- art42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25Look into Kucinich's record and where he stands on the issues.
Dennis has not been bought and paid for.
If caring about We The People, the Constitution is radical, then Dennis is an extreme radical.
kucinich.us- insomniac8400, on 10/11/2007, -16/+6I think you misspelled Ron Paul. It is not spelled Kucinich.
- stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1*****!
Yes, check his record. He sides with the people, not corpofascists such as your self.
- lordsandwich, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Kucinich is also promoting privacy laws, universal healthcare, drug decriminalization, aggressive environmental policies and gay rights legislation. I know he doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning, but he's got my vote in the primaries either way.
- art42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25Look into Kucinich's record and where he stands on the issues.
- greenback1, on 10/11/2007, -19/+14Great. But is there a way to include Nacy Pelosi on the impeachment list?
- insomniac8400, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6If we did that, how else would she become the first women president and steal any glory that Hillary thought she was going to get. Number 2 just isn't as good as number one. And she wouldn't be able to campaign about being the first woman president, that alone is worth it.
- elid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I know I shouldn't feed the trolls. But exactly what crime did she commit? How many people died as a result of her actions?
- tcotton73, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Don't know, how many of our soldiers have died because of Democratic support for terrorist?
- dodus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+30.
- tcotton73, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Don't know, how many of our soldiers have died because of Democratic support for terrorist?
- rcook18, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes, her name is Cindy Sheehan.
- greenback1, on 10/11/2007, -19/+3Democrats are lame. I hear more of my Republican freinds (real Republicans, unlike those in the top tier who have hijacked our Party) demanding an impeachment of Bush and Cheney than I hear from Democrats. What gives with you guys? Are you masochist? Beat you down, and you come back for abuse and insults.
- art42, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8CONs never stop with the lies and spin.
- nondescrypt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Agreed! Impeachment Is Now A Republican Idea??? wow, what a *****' ***** greenback is...
- tinker123, on 10/11/2007, -3/+33Enough talk! Do it already!
- omnithought, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20It would also be the first step to our citizenry growing back the balls it lost after the Revolutionary War.
- empirefalling, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14What of imprisonment??
- nondescrypt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1don't you know?? Busharov will simply wave his *magic* pen
- Aaronontheweb, on 10/11/2007, -16/+6Man... the libs have my work cut out for me today... Buried for being tinfoil tripe.
- HarryBauzonia, on 10/11/2007, -15/+6Someone is gaming Digg today huh?
The front page is littered with ***** from the same propaganda sites.
Please everyone. Digg this garbage down and let's get stories from honest sources.- darksheer, on 10/11/2007, -8/+4And you'll notice they always post it in the wrong topic--politlcal news rather than political opinion. I guess they realize that many of us have that section turned off to try to get away from this stuff.
- TheNapalm, on 10/11/2007, -17/+3Liberal Spinmonger Moonbat Pacifists
- dataminer, on 10/11/2007, -7/+5Cheney does whatever he wants.
- darksheer, on 10/11/2007, -8/+3Opinion--not news. Buried--wrong topic. (not that I necessarily disagree; but I specifically turn off the political opinion section to avoid this drivel)
- elid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Debatable. Much of the news is just talk :)
- radiopayola, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Things said by presidential candidates and/or members of congress are news. It's not like Kucinich wrote an OPED. This is a news report about something a member of congress is saying. Hence, NEWS.
- yogione, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14Yes, get Pelosi out of the way. She obstructing justice by refusing to impeach. She rand Hillary are conspiring against America by protecting Bush and Cheney from being impeached and prosecuted. They must have a secret, closed-door deal deal with the Neocons. Bitch-slap the both of them. No mercy. Either impeach, or get run out of town. Do it NOW, Dammit.
- floorman56, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1She rand Hillary are conspiring against America by protecting Bush and Cheney from being impeached and prosecuted
If BS they know if impeachment happens the will have to cool there jets in Congress for most of the year while Giuliani, Thompson, have free shots to run for president and run ad's of Pelosi and the Dem's saying they wouldn't impeach with cuts of shots of them doing it.
- floorman56, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1She rand Hillary are conspiring against America by protecting Bush and Cheney from being impeached and prosecuted
- LastVisibleDog, on 10/11/2007, -8/+3Whine about impeachment - now that is a great way to get elected. Who cares what you might do if you are president - just tell us you too hate the guys we hate. (and the left wonders why they have so much problems with winning elections - check the approval rating of the brand-new Democrat congress lately?) The Democrat circle-jerk of impeachment will make the upcoming election close when it should have been a cakewalk for the Democrats.
- art42, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Really? What about the fact that the dem's won when Nixon was impeached and the neocons won win Clinton was impeached?
- floorman56, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Humm ......Nixon wasn't impeached Now Ford may have lost because he pardoned Nixon ...but then we got Carter...and we know what a nightmare that was.
- art42, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Really? What about the fact that the dem's won when Nixon was impeached and the neocons won win Clinton was impeached?
- shaggytoker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15Kucinich is the only person that I've heard adamantly pursuing the impeachment of Dick Cheney. Not recently complying with an executive order, re-signed by Bush in 2000, that would force him to turn over documentation regarding the warrentless wire-tapping program the Bush Administration is glad for implementing. I don't understand how Americans can't understand this Administration and their lies. Why would they want to keep these things secret, and why would Bush site executive privilege in regards to letting certain White House aides testify. WHY THE SECRECY! This Administration will be held accountable for the events that unfolded on 9/11. Why would a President continue to sit and read to children when the country is under attack; hmm...maybe to allow Vice-President Dick Cheney to become "acting-president" to allow him to call the shots. This country has gone to ***** because of these people, and we as Americans are going to have to clean it up. Bush's term is almost up....THANK GOD!
- sandplasma, on 10/11/2007, -10/+2I am so tired of this guy talking and talking and talking...STFU already!
The guy is not getting impeached and that's that. Geez! - szembek, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1I think you accidentally put this in the political NEWS section, instead of OPINION.
- CueBall909, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Neither Bush nor Cheney need to be impeached...they need to be put on trial, convicted, and jailed for the crimes they have committed! No closed door, secret meetings. No more beating around the bush (pun not intended). No need for 2/3 Senate approval. Just put them both on trial and be done with it. Bush gave executive orders to the NSA to perform illegal wiretaps. Cheney has repeatedly violated laws which require him to keep and make public the records of his office.
Both of these guys have committed crimes while in office. Why are we mucking about with this impeachment crap when they should just be thrown in jail?- londubh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1They have to be removed from office first. impeachment and removal paves the way for them to charged with crimes and tried. Cheney needs to go first. The sad thing is if Bush and Cheney are actually held accountable that is only a small down payment on repairing alll the damage they and their cabal have done to America not to mention Iraq. We'll still have to deal with terrorism, but hopefully in a smarter manner.
- chicofaraby, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Dennis Kucinich is the only liberal in the race.
- rationalthinker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Kucinich ought to stick to fighting his back stabbing liberal buddies like Clinton and Edwards for trying to rig the democratic debates.
- chicofaraby, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Neither Clinton nor Edwards are liberal.
- drmobutu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4It's been Cheney's show all along...
- Calann, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2We do have an outlaw rogue administration that is threatening the peace and stability of the world.
If another country invaded us in order to topple the current regime in Washington and establish a new government, would we great them as liberators? Probably not, many average people would fight them. Since these people would not be in uniform, I suppose they would be labeled as unlawful combatants and have no rights if captured. - joeb1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3I continued to be amazed at how a guy (Kucinich) standing at 1-2% in the polls consistently makes it to the front page of Digg.
- floorman56, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Like Ron Paul?
- 0xbadfood, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0It's simple. If you do and say things that make sense to people, people like you. I know it's hard for the bought and paid for "first tier" politicians and their supporters to understand, but some people prefer integrity and justice to lies and abuse.
- ericdano, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Yeah, like Congress is SOOOO Effective. Why don't they just pass laws without him huh?
- Pedwidget, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1First step in fixing America. VOTE OUT ALL DEMOCRATS. Ok the worst taken care of first... move one to the rest.
- chicofaraby, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2OK, I'll ask. How did the Democratic Party become responsible for the last 6 years of disastrous GOP rule?
- 0xbadfood, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0By failing to undo as much of it as possible as soon as they gained a majority in both houses. Every spending bill they send to the president should have "the patriot act is repealed, the military commissions act is repealed, the definition of "financial institution" is restored to what it was in 2003, the iraq timetable is..."
- chicofaraby, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2OK, I'll ask. How did the Democratic Party become responsible for the last 6 years of disastrous GOP rule?
- Retsep, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1As a resident of Kucinich's district in Lakewood, Ohio, I have never been more embarrassed. What a fool we elected. Unfortunately his support is pretty strong so I think he'll be there a while, but he is a complete embarrassment.
- bonhoeffer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Kucinich says stupid things because he needs the attention. Apparently some topic submitters do, too.
- slugicide, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Kucinich radical? He's a ***** Democrat, part of the duopoly--how "radical" can he be?
- logiksan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0What exactly is the point of impeachment at this stage? I want these guys out of office as badly as the next guy, but impeachment proceedings would cripple Congress for the remainder of this Presidency, and with their own low approval ratings, Congress needs to actually get some legislation passed and accomplish something prior to the '08 elections. Impeachment hearings and the subsequent trials would do NOTHING to help Congress's attempt at proving to the American people that it's capable of making any kind of change.
What Congress needs to do is keep putting bills on Bush's desk and let him dig himself and his party into a deeper hole with his inevitable vetos. Then they can blame the Republican agenda for stifling progress and reform in this country. Use that as a launching point, and then when they take power, start to undo some of these travesties and repair our image both at home and internationally.- dodus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That's what they're doing.
- floorman56, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What Congress needs to do is keep putting bills on Bush's desk and let him dig himself and his party into a deeper hole with his inevitable vetos
This is why congress is rated so low...people KNOW they are playing games ....***** around with a lame duck president while stuff that REALLY needs to get done lays around in committee.. Tell me ...hows that new minimal wage working out?
- origclubsoda, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Raise your hand if you think you are smart.... OK, now consider this: there isn't enough time to impeach Cheney or Bush. Is you hand still up?
- FrothyA, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0It would not make any difference if slick Dick Cheney is successfully impeached because you know up to the very last day in office, Bush will pardon him. Only impeaching both of them can do the trick but if everything actually does goes to plan, that will mean Nancy Pelosi will be President.
Oh boy! - fixedcoma, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Why don't you return the money that Halliburton wrote the congress in false contracts on the war instead of pretending to give it to charity? Be a man! Not a thief, ecspecially while pretending to protect the ones you love. That's what you are trying to do, right? I wonder if the lord is comfortable in your presence?
- Felix57, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Kucinich my favorite woodland creature in government
- stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1He will have my vote....
- LeeSoong, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Kucinich?
I thought he was running to open his own shoe shine shop? - robwill17, on 12/03/2007, -0/+0Cheapest and the best data recovery service in the world.
