Kucinich Abandons White House Bid

hosted.ap.org — CLEVELAND (AP) -- Democrat Dennis Kucinich is abandoning his second, long-shot bid for the White House as he faces a tough fight to hold onto his other job - U.S. congressman. In an interview with Cleveland's Plain Dealer, the six-term House member said he was quitting the race and would make a formal announcement on Friday.

I hope that this man, who has gained my deepest respect, continues to act as a voice for the deepest wishes of the American People. His ideals were matched only by his passionate resolve to work for the betterment of this nation as well as this world.

    I believe that Kucinich can still play a role as a leader of a movement that is clearly underway in this country. He has opened the eyes of millions of people to the corrupt and self-serving nature of the system that is slowly leading us down a very dark path. The corporate run media managed to keep his message quiet, the leading puppet politicians perverted truths, his own party managed to keep him off a ballot - yet he fought for the integrity of the voting process, continues to fight for the impeachment of the most powerful and dangerous man in the United States, was forced to sue the most powerful companies in order to make his voice heard.

    I don't know who Joe Cimperman is - but he is clearly another ridiculous excuse of a politician who has put his own selfish and short-term interests ahead of those of this country.

    It's time now to look at the other candidates and see what kind of future they plan for this country. The only thing I am certain of right now... anyone but Hillary Clinton.
