Leftists only regulate companies/government. It's the right-wingers who infringe on individual rights to do anything but kill each other
- DiggLive, on 04/11/2008, -5/+20Obama is almost at the point where he'll need less than 100 supers in June to reach the nomination. He could even hit the magic number before then if this keeps up.
- smacksaw, on 04/11/2008, -3/+17I can't say this is really much of a surprise...Oregon has that wild streak that makes it unique with it's own type of self-sufficiency. Democrats are federalists, no doubt. But Obama seems a bit less gung-ho on having DC run everything compared to Hillary. Oregonians will support the one most likely to respect their intelligence and leave them alone, and that isn't going to be Hillary. Obama by default.
- colincornaby, on 04/11/2008, -5/+18Yeah. I'm sure the Indians were real bad off. Good thing we came along. Without us, they'd have lost all their lands, and mostly be dead. Oh... wait...
- edwartica, on 04/11/2008, -0/+9Civil rights should not be decided bu a state by state basis. I agree, the states should have more say, but in the cases of a woman's right to choose and gay marriage, it should be a federal law.
- Krisgi, on 04/11/2008, -4/+10The Indian tribes are a prime example of how getting ripped off, having your possessions stolen and then being parked somewhere only to be forgotten by your aggressors and history, produces nothing but poverty. Another example are the Aborigine people in Australia. The casinos are US tribes´ revenge against the Pale Faces, and more power to them.
- aldenhg, on 04/11/2008, -2/+8I don't know about you other Oregonians, but I want Kitzhaber back. Kulongoski kinda sucks.
- pilot3033, on 04/11/2008, -3/+9Like the Presidency, you earn the title for life.
It's President Clinton, President Ford, President Carter, etc. You don't need to put the qualifier "former" in front of it.
So Governor X is acceptable, not to mention, if you read the ***** description , you'd notice that it says "each with two terms of service under their belts," which means they have to be nothing BUT former Governors. - edwartica, on 04/11/2008, -0/+6I'm saying its a civil right. It should be put in the constitution, just like woman's suffrage and the right for African Americans to vote. Anything less is a violation of civil rights.
And the reason why we should not let the states decide is because in some states, these rights would indeed be turned down. - purecheese, on 04/11/2008, -0/+6One more thing, Barbara Roberts only served one term, and was a horrible Governor.
- serif69, on 04/11/2008, -2/+7Hillary is getting endorsements, but nobody is Digging them. Instead, we get "The Hamburglar endorses Obama" and "Ronnie Dobbs announces he will vote for Barack Obama"
- edwartica, on 04/11/2008, -6/+11No we would not. We care about gay rights and a woman's right to choose.
- edwartica, on 04/11/2008, -3/+8Ron Paul wants the states to decide. What's next? Will the states decide if African Americans or women can vote?
- Hortnon, on 04/11/2008, -2/+7He already answered that in his Meet The Press interview - He rationalizes by saying changing the Constitution is Constitutional. It's really sad.
- Midoc, on 04/11/2008, -2/+7If Ron Paul doesn't allow his personal preferences to get in the way of upholding the constitution, why did he submit a bill to Congress that would alter the 10th amendment? If the Constitution is so good, why change it?
- sparql, on 04/11/2008, -0/+5As much as i like Obama, you're foolish if you think he will have it easy against McCain once the Republican machine gets turned on.
- Aadain, on 04/11/2008, -1/+5I do like Kitzhaber over Kulongoski, but Kulongoski isn't that bad. I disagree with him on some areas (like him supporting Hillary) but for the most part he's a good governor
- purecheese, on 04/11/2008, -2/+6Neil Goldschmidt was unavailable for comment seeing how he was patrolling the local schools in his white cargo van with free candy for all the little girls.
- brock2020, on 04/11/2008, -1/+5John McCain will completely pwn Obama in debates. watch
- Midoc, on 04/11/2008, -1/+5@Homah, so as long as it is still called the Constitution any changes we make are acceptable? You make it sound as if the idea of the Constitution itself is more important than the ideas the Constitution was founded upon.
- smotpoker, on 04/11/2008, -3/+7Is that supposed to be some sort of justification?
- edwartica, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3I'm kind of curious what you think he's done. I can't really name anything significant to be honest.
- CrazyArcher, on 04/11/2008, -1/+4Yeah, you've got that right. Kitz had a pretty boss mustache.
- tjplaw, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3I wouldn't get to excited about this endorsement.
These two are the worst Governors in the history of Oregon. - chaosium, on 04/11/2008, -2/+5"Oregonians are weird as hell and would organize a write in for Ron Paul in a heartbeat."
Except that they haven't and won't, because they're far more progressive. - inactive, on 04/11/2008, -2/+5"You are implying that Paul doesn't believe in gay rights, which is untrue. He believes everyone is born with the same rights, regardless of sexual preference, creed, color or anything else."
Really? So why again did he try to introduce the "We the People Act" , giving the states the right to pass wholly unconstitutional laws SPECIFICALLY aimed at gays? The same bill would also make it illegal to challenge those laws. A state could literally pass a law saying if you are Gay, or aren't a Christian, you can't live in certain places, hold public office, etc. (Texas already tried to do this, so it isn't fantasy).
Why would he specifically targets gays, women, and non-christians? What happened to EQUAL rights? - inactive, on 04/12/2008, -0/+2MCCAIN isnt running against anyone at the moment.
HE won HIS primaries you knitwit. WTF are so stupid you nod yes or no at a drive through?!!
GAWD Obamatards are worse then dumbells!
So far, Obama changed his mind about his preacher 3 times.
He has no idea about the economy but to TAX MORE!
He has no idea about the war but to TALK TO IRAN AND HAMAS AND ANY OTHER TERRORIST GROUP
He had no idea about much.
And you think we are simpletons? HAHAHAHA - smotpoker, on 04/11/2008, -1/+3@Stevanoski - Che was no dictator... Perhaps you should state and abide by the rules next time you start a round of "Pick someone else's heroes"
@lester - I'm sure that's similar to Nazi sympathizer reactions for years regarding Jew treatment as they kissed their children's foreheads and sent them off to starve/torture/murder/rape
http://www.pastpeak.com/archives/2004/07/post_1.ht ... - inactive, on 04/12/2008, -0/+2Where the ***** did you get this?
And did you have to post the entire ***** novel ?!?!
PS - Hes a racist short and simple. He rejects one form of racism while tolerating another. Biased by race = Racist
Plus he wants to raise taxes at the WORST possible time! - fatTJ, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2That's, not how he used it
- pintomp3, on 04/11/2008, -1/+3woah, that changes everything. everyone knows what you did in the past doesn't count. my resume only lists what i ate for lunch today.
- Lighthouse, on 04/11/2008, -4/+6mccain is nowhere near right wing. that's why he walks away w/ the general election. dems are busy tearing each other up right now. no matter who gets the dem nom, they lose. why? if obama is the man, feminazi supporters of hillary are going to go ballistic saying "a younger, less qualified MAN took the slot of a more experienced woman--AGAIN" a large percentage of them will NOT vote for obama. they stay home or vote for mccain.
if hillary somehow steals the nom, the obamanuts will go nuts. "Whitey does it again." a large percentage of them will NOT vote for hillary. they either stay home or vote for mccain.
why are these dems voting for mccain? b/c he's not geo bush. he's generally likable. he's more lib than right wing. he is generally viewed as honorable and having integrity. he served in vietnam. he was incarcerated in a vietnamese POW camp for 5 1/2 years.
repubs aren't going to vote for hillary or obama. right wingers have no choice but to vote for mccain. older dems will vote for mccain.
how does he NOT walk away w/ the election? - pkulak, on 04/11/2008, -2/+4Are they super delegates though?
- citadelcap, on 04/11/2008, -1/+3No more Obama spam. Digg sucks now cause of all this Obama crap.
- DuffyDirect, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1why should i care who someone else is voting for?
- inactive, on 04/12/2008, -1/+2Can you tell that the same idiots that like iphones like Obama... same quality... all show, little brain !
- 10pins, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1no, they aren't.
- Malevolant, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2You nailed it, but the people who would die for obama will never see past his so-called "greatness" even though he hasn't done anything but fill their heads with empty promises and words.
- zephyear, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2well, you could hide US Elections 08 news
you know, just a thought - Krisgi, on 04/15/2008, -0/+1I´m actually ver tan as of late and live in the Mediterranean. I have lived outside the US for the last two decades. See my profile, and ask before you insult.
- IphtashuFitz, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2If Obama obtains the necessary number of votes & pledged delegates prior to the convention I wonder if Hillary will bow out since it would be mathematically impossible for her to win at that point.
No I don't... She'll probably refuse to accept defeat even after all the voting at the convention is complete. - heysuburbia, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2Then find them when they're upcoming and bury them. Digg, you have the power.
- edwartica, on 04/12/2008, -0/+1I just told you. Its a matter of civil rights. Quite frankly, I hate abortion, but making it illegal is just going to cause more harm than good.
- WNW3, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2Kulongoski is useless.
- WNW3, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2Bud was the guy with the crazy handlebar moustache right?
- J6stik, on 04/12/2008, -0/+1Obama is the new Ron Paul. In that everyone on Digg loves him but doesn't know jack ***** about politics or the people in them.
- R3yDigg, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2Bwaahaha, it's funny cause it's true.
- faskippy, on 04/12/2008, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGeu_4Ekx-o
