- ForumDriv, on 07/11/2009, -3/+8Sen. Dodd has been trying to fill Sen. Kennedy's role -- no easy task -- but his sister died this past week, which took him out of the game too. By I suspect things will get back on track next week. Sotomayor will be a distraction, but a small one because it is all over but the voting (and a bigger hole dug by some Senate hardliners for themselves).

- tbhurst, on 07/12/2009, -2/+3Regardless of how you feel about Sen. Kennedy's politics, he has been a Senate stalwart on all kinds of issues. He's been the kind of guy who crosses the aisle, negotiates, brokers deals, etc. His leadership on this issue has been missed by both parties, as both parties recognize something needs to be done about healthcare.
