- Taliese, on 05/24/2008, -13/+419Keith,
Thanks once again for speaking the truth when others would prefer to spin lies. There is simply no excuse for this woman's comments. She is not fit for the presidency. - Khanvalescent, on 05/24/2008, -5/+238Dugg for background noise (1:38) making Olbermann flinch. "Oh god, I'm being assassinated by Hillary!"
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -6/+204Thanks, Keith, for telling it like it is! It's time for us to stop excusing her for "misspeaking" when she clearly lied! I really hope she eases on down the road AND out of this race.
- xt0xicx, on 05/24/2008, -7/+200We can't forgive you again Hilary, just do us all a favor and drop out.
- AydenV2, on 05/24/2008, -8/+164I fear for Obama's safety after a statement like this. I hope the DNC does their job and closes this up.
- mochaman, on 05/24/2008, -7/+162If there were any doubts that this is heartless and cruel woman, I think today she made it very clear. This is no accident, she knows what she's been saying she is no dummy.
- Neiby, on 05/24/2008, -3/+126Holy crap....that was awesome. The whole clip is good, but the ending is amazing.
- lpxxfaintxx2, on 05/24/2008, -7/+124She's digging her own grave.
Americans, take a deep breath. It's almost over. Only a matter of time 'til Obama takes the nomination. - AshamedAmerican, on 05/24/2008, -14/+106Wow, had the new ***** that Keith just tore her been any bigger Hillary would've been goatse.
Also, kudos to Keith for naming all of her lies and ***** ups, it takes him a good 2 minutes just listing them. - nsanidy, on 05/24/2008, -12/+103My God. I hate her so, so much.
- Petron10, on 05/24/2008, -2/+88Did anybody else notice that loud crack at about 1:40. Olbermann definitely flinches for a split second.
- RandomLove, on 05/24/2008, -10/+82How badly do I want to bone Keith Olbermann?
About as badly as I want to smack Hillary Clinton. Though Olbermann's verbal beating right here kind of satisfied that urge. - ssj2119, on 05/24/2008, -4/+74Holy crap.
That was just 10 min and 44 secs of pure articulative owning. Wow
Well done keith, please spread this video people. - pintomp3, on 05/24/2008, -0/+69sniper fire.
- blaze03, on 05/24/2008, -5/+71The one good thing to come out of this is now there's zero chance she'll be Obama's VP pick. Thank god because I don't think I'd be able to vote for Obama if she was his running mate. At this point I hate Hillary more than I like Obama.
- belfastbiker, on 05/24/2008, -7/+67Christ, that was powerful.
When's he getting into politics? - MrTito, on 05/24/2008, -4/+63Holy *****. Olbermann went the ***** off. I was waiting for "Have you no sense of decency?..."
He is exactly right that there has been a lot of blood spilled in our political process, and that it's exactly what makes Hillary's comments so, so shameful. - WasntMe, on 05/24/2008, -0/+57Looked like one of the spotlight bulbs burst...
- Chrispyc1211, on 05/24/2008, -9/+65Yes. I love it; he's impassioned as hell, but not hateful. So often, especially on Fox, you see these angry AND ignorant folks. Keith knows what he's talking about, and throws his weight behind it.
Fight on. - jmwander, on 05/24/2008, -4/+54K.O. is simply brilliant here--passionately and intelligently articulating the disgust and anger so many Americans felt today not only about Hillary's comment, but also in her half-hearted apology in which she never even mentioned Obama.
- itbescott, on 05/24/2008, -6/+53He's right. I can't forgive her for this. I have never been one of the "I'm not going to vote for her if she gets it" people but I am now. If she had actually apologized at that supermarket I might still not be but now it's the proverbial straw.
- fr0ng, on 05/24/2008, -9/+54I ***** love this guy.
- willdelaney, on 05/24/2008, -10/+53I usually don't like KO's rants
but this was needed - BigBadBob1982, on 05/24/2008, -1/+43I'm know I don't understand all this political crap, and all their lies etc.....
But did she just basically say, I'm only still hanging around in case he gets killed? - inactive, on 05/24/2008, -33/+74*****!
- volando, on 05/24/2008, -7/+37I know it's stupid to vote for McCcain if she somehow weasels Obama out of his win, but I'll be quite quite tempted to do it anyway just because of all the ***** we "forgave" her for... nice summary, Olberman!!!
- JCinDE, on 05/24/2008, -0/+29Keith draws energy from all nearby sources to power his righteous indignation.
And he had it in overdrive tonight.
Rightly so. I was absolutely appalled when I read Clinton's remark. - sb76117, on 05/24/2008, -6/+35i had to rewind it over and over again just to see the look of fear on Keith's face. i think he scared himself with his own speech.
i dont watch the "news", but Keith Olbermann has never let me down. He's one of the few good guys left.
HRC is pretty much saying "If he wins, he'll die. So don't vote for Obama unless you want blood on your hands." and people have said this is why they won't vote for him. Because they do not want him to die.
If Obama's life is in danger, he would most certainly know it. He's recieved threats from day one.
But Obama is a Jedi. If you strike him down, he'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
I think he's gonna stick with it as long as they let him, and no matter what the outcome is, lies will be exposed and people will see that our government is just a system of loopholes and scapegoats. - johndi, on 05/24/2008, -3/+32When someone misspeaks as much as Hillary we call them unreliable. Do you really want someone that incapable running the country?
- Chrispyc1211, on 05/24/2008, -1/+29She might have misspoken, but when the point you're trying to make is "the race isn't over," a political assassination should not be an argument for your viability as a candidate.
- sugarazor, on 05/24/2008, -7/+35Thankfully he doesn't take the Huffington Post stand on it and act like she's just waiting for Obama to get shot and calls her out just for using the word in this context.
- GorfTron, on 05/24/2008, -7/+34Her comments about assassination were very cavalier and crass.
- gsadamb, on 05/24/2008, -8/+34Hillary is a very good politician. She's also a lawyer. She knows quite well that a few words "misspoken" can have a huge impact on a lot of people. She's jumped on Obama for doing it.
She made a miscalculation here and she's trying to backpedal without having to apologize, and she's dealing with the consequences. - pasadenavoter, on 05/24/2008, -8/+33Way to go Keith! Tell it like it is!
- Neiby, on 05/24/2008, -1/+26Yep. She's trying to plant the seeds of fear, uncertainty and doubt, and she's doing it in the worst way. She's watching her (probably only) chance at becoming President slip away right in front of her eyes and she'll do or say anything at this point. I hope this sort of crap pushes even more super delegates into the Obama camp, and soon. They need to step in and end this thing now.
- techlyc, on 05/24/2008, -3/+26*closer profile inspection*
WTF!! Grrrl on Digg? Lies! ***** thing sucks plx. - XBSHX, on 05/24/2008, -0/+23I think it was a bulb bursting actually. It got dimmer on the right side right as you hear the sound.
- willdelaney, on 05/24/2008, -1/+24get off my avatar
- MrTito, on 05/24/2008, -2/+25But to figure that into your political calculations for why you should stay in it?
REALLY?!? - badger500, on 05/24/2008, -2/+24“My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right?” We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.”
First, this was not an off-the-top-of-the head remark, because she said something very similar in March as Keith said. So this is part of her CANNED TALKING POINTS. This means she or someone in her staff came up with these two facts to include, and she said, "Yes, that sounds like two things I'll want to mention a few times at least."
Her line about the Kennedys being on my mind because of Teddy Kennedy and therefore caused her to just think this up now is another barefaced lie. Period. This was approved material from her and her campaign.
What kind of judgment does one have to have to think that this is a good thing to say? Why didn't she or someone she hired say, "No, we shouldn't bring up assassination in the context of staying in against Barack." - drmangrum, on 05/24/2008, -2/+22You know I'm actually wondering if she said that to aid his campaign. She knows she lost it. Is she bringing hatred upon herself to give Obama an indirect sympathy following?
Or she could be a cold hearted bitch who throws a tantrum when she doesn't get her way. - hypodan, on 05/24/2008, -0/+20Do it Live!
- duncanm, on 05/24/2008, -1/+19She's smart. She's a lawyer and she cunningly floats ideas in the pretext of them being "fresh" and "unrehearsed". She did not misspeak.
I remember JFK's death. I remember Bobby's death. I remember M.L. King's... and even today I remember each of them with HORROR.
She did not speak the word "death"; she spoke the taboo word "assassination". She has formerly used it and then she stopped using it, as Keith pointed out. The problem is she spoke it again today. She's a politician and she spoke the greatest taboo an American politician could speak of while running for the presidency.
She knows better and she knows better than to utter this HORROR in the context of the upcoming anniversary of Robert's death and the disturbing news about Edward's health.
Candidates are scrutinized not only for the words that they speak, but also for the words/actions of people close to them. The only purpose of anyone (media, politicians, etc.) using the word "assassination" is to conjure feelings of HORROR and fear and this is precisely what Hillary did when she spoke the word "assassination" today.
She stepped across the line before, was warned and then she publicly stepped across the line again today. Now, she's facing the consequences of taking that risk. This was not a mistake it was deliberate. If it truly was a mistake, she would have immediately rectified it by admitting it as a mistake and immediately asking for forgiveness---in public---from the people most affected by her insensitivity. - iamdak, on 05/24/2008, -4/+22It looks to me like a not-so-subliminal message from HRC to any extreme racists willing to perform the act. It's also not helping when the mainstream media is shoving the word down America's collective throat.
- kakwakas, on 05/24/2008, -2/+20I'd sure as hell vote for him.
- Emsiiem, on 05/24/2008, -0/+17While waiting for msnbc to figure out how to broadcast video, YouTube version @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AnwU9FRBb8
- Chrispyc1211, on 05/24/2008, -0/+16Ah, that makes more sense. I thought he just slapped the table or something. Props to you folks.
- poxonyou, on 05/24/2008, -2/+17You do know he writes his own Special Comments?
You expect him, or anyone, to sit in front of the camera for an hour and report the news smoothly off the top of his head? - winampman2, on 05/24/2008, -0/+15dugg for jedi reference
- AndrewDB, on 05/24/2008, -1/+16I don't think I've ever seen Keith Olbermann so pissed at someone over something.
The man is on a roll. -
