- Rotzooi, on 01/03/2008, -1/+36Maybe, just maybe some scape-goat will land in jail for a few years, but Bush will pardon him after 2 days.
The real criminals in the White House are going to get away with this. - InfamousAtheist, on 01/03/2008, -0/+27And we trust the Justice Department to conduct a thorough, honest, impartial investigation because...?
- ronpaul20008, on 01/03/2008, -0/+17McKasey & the DoJ are in Bush's pocket...This isn't going anywhere. Like any of the other previous 100's of injustices had proper trials...? The Bush Administration - where even Rape, Mass Murder, Drug Dealing, Gay Prostitutes, Pedophilia & Torture are not only tolerated, but accepted & standard behavior.
- jaymzdean, on 01/03/2008, -1/+18How old were you when you realized professional wrestling is fake?
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -0/+15I hope you are wrong. We need to have faith in the system and the people that help make it work. It's not to say we shouldn't be cynical, but we should do everything in our power to ensure that justice is served. If we give up and allow the cover-ups and the propaganda to overwhelm the issues, the terrorists that reside in our own government will get away with the obscene. Don't let it happen and please don't give up on humanity.
- nnscott, on 01/03/2008, -0/+14Call me insane but for some reason I don't trust results of investigations where both agencies are on the same team.
- Cedargrove, on 01/03/2008, -0/+10We've already seen Scooter Libby's 30 months get commuted, sadly, you're probably right, there will always be a fall man in place...
- DiggMasterJ, on 01/03/2008, -0/+10It's too late, only the nuts will believe it was tapes of children being raped in front of their mothers for useless information. And even if people knew, the Bush white house is not above hiding behind plausible deniability, *cough Gonzalez*
- mOdQuArK, on 01/03/2008, -0/+8No, the idea that illegal immigration is a more important issue than preventing the illegal coverup of torture, is fairly straightforward evidence that you're a big dumbass.
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -0/+7I bet that janitor at the CIA could kill you instantly with a three pressure point strike to the chest.
- Cedargrove, on 01/03/2008, -1/+8In related news OJ is still looking for the killer...
- CTK14A, on 01/03/2008, -0/+7What concerns me, more than being really mean to a terrorist, is that government officials selectively destroyed information that incriminated 'friendly' entities. http://www.digg.com/politics/Destroyed_tapes_revea ...
- goffy59, on 01/03/2008, -1/+8Your just a big dumbass right?
- nnscott, on 01/03/2008, -0/+6I don't recall that.
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -0/+6Do you have any numbers to back your claim or are you simply another in a long, LONG line of right wing liars?
- bowens44, on 01/03/2008, -0/+6Wow. Your sense of priorities is really out of whack. Bringing this administration to justice and trying to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again in our nation is easily the most important issue facing our nation.
- da_bradler, on 01/03/2008, -0/+6This is the stupid thing though, they are investigating the destruction of the tapes not the actual torture, if someone gets charged it will be for destroying evidence. they'd never charge someone with torture because it would take half the government out
- Look4Truth, on 01/03/2008, -0/+5Oh give me a break. That's like letting the fox frisk the chickens.

...stupid 120 second rule - pavelpg, on 01/03/2008, -0/+5lol... cause bush said "trust me"
- an0nymous, on 01/03/2008, -0/+5Begin: Operation Political Cover!
"I am sorry senator, it is the policy of the White House not to discuss ongoing investigations." - principle, on 01/03/2008, -0/+5It is all a show to divert attention from bigger issues. Like who ordered torture? The fact is we already know that Bush explicitly ordered CIA and the Army to torture prisoners. However, no one is going after Bush! Congress sees nothing, hears nothing, and says nothing. Well some one has to do something, or the mob will come with tar and feathers for the whole lot of them.
- williamdyer, on 01/03/2008, -0/+5You can hope, but this stinks of whitewash, eyewash, hogwash. We need to make sure the next president is willing to prosecute war crimes.
- pavelpg, on 01/03/2008, -0/+4LOL why do they even bother investigating themselves. I suppose for the sheep out there it makes it look like the government is active in making itself efficient and honest to its people. Still pretty funny though, in a sad way.
- bsmang, on 01/03/2008, -0/+4If "REAL Americans" really were what you think they are, then I'd move to another country. So I'm really glad that you are so clueless.
- pigfister, on 01/03/2008, -0/+4sry sir but i cannot discuss that "a risk to national security" or "i have no recollection" all over again!

- navcat, on 01/03/2008, -0/+4I just hope its not another diversion for the people to look at while the congress fights. on the other side the war budget has been silently approved and passed along. was it 52 billion. There was so much opposition for that. now nothing. Hah!
- pavelpg, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3Nah man... wouldn't you snitch out your business partners that keep raking in more money for you?
- williamdyer, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3That is what some detainees say they were threatened with. And when was the last time something turned out to be not as bad as some said it would be? In bad *****, this administration always exceeds expectations.
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -1/+4Bush Justice Department To Investigate Bush CIA
and we all had a nice quiet laugh... - Diggity75, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3I cannot recall.
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3Here we go, a butt ring investigating an *****....
- tgc1, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3"We'll get to the bottom of this..."
Mmmmmhmmm.... I see. - tgc1, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2Shhhhh... you're not supposed to know any of that! This is a diversion tactic.
- tgc1, on 01/03/2008, -1/+3So let me get this straight. They're going to launch and investigation into the destruction of CIA tapes, and tell me something, just what in the hell are they going to use to convict or tie anybody to this *****?! Am I missing something here? I don't want to be a party pooper to anyone hoping to see some of these ***** carted off to a 10x8 cell but seriously. You're talking about an agency that DEALS IN INFORMATION, they know damn well how to get rid of it. Better than you, and better than me. They will find nothing. And this will be wiped under the rug. Again. I can just hear those ***** cackling in their board rooms now. "They're gonna launch an investigation... oooooooohh hahahahahaha"
- Cedargrove, on 01/03/2008, -1/+3What are you gonna do brotha when Terrormania runs wild on you!?! ... had to ...
- pavelpg, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2I agree, LOL. They always charge them for something stupid and meaningless compared to the actual crime.
- mlfoley, on 01/03/2008, -1/+3Yep, this will be a total scape-goat situation like Libby, unfortunately. The criminals will never be thrown behind bars.
- bsmang, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2I wonder if a 'criminal investigation' by the justice dept. somehow precludes or otherwise cancels investigations by congress? That's the only reason I can think of for such a move, since this is essentially the equivalent of Bush investigating himself.
- robberry, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2Wait a minute, professional wrestling is *fake*?!?!? *gasp*
- VitriolAndAngst, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2Everyone assumes that after 2008 the problem will be settled with an election.
If the "steps of fascism" hold true,.. there will be an incident requiring people to PROVE that they should be allowed out of the country -- basically, the borders will be closed and controlled.
That's when it is over. If there is someone in the Justice department, perhaps selling out America for what they think is some good money, or a nice cushy job, think again what that will be worth if you have to live it in a fascist state looking over your shoulder all the time wondering if your neighbor is going to turn you in. There won't be much need for judges and prosecutors -- they will just tell you that you are being detained.
Bush already has a third kangaroo court set up. I hope we are all wrong and that 2008 will bring change and justice -- I still doubt it. - VitriolAndAngst, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2Here folks, proof that another show trial won't change anything;

We won't have any clue who actually wins this but who we are told. Apparently, Iowans cannot be trusted to count their own election. - JapaneseEconomy, on 01/03/2008, -1/+3Tapes of children being raped infront of their mothers?
WTH>? Are you serious? - kooft, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2"I don't know how good a doctor Ron Paul is, but I find it hard to believe he'll still be around in 20008"
He'd have to be a pretty damn good doctor to survive for 18,000 years. - Acewrap, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1Libby isn't a scapegoat, he is a criminal.
- Mist3rE, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. So long as it looks like they are asking questions and gathering information and they eventually hold some face accountable, then the majority will turn the other cheek. Besides, they are only going to give us so much of what they find anyway. I mean come on, does anyone really believe Libby was the sole conspirator in the Valerie Plame scandal for example?
Toledo Gaming Center? - burningmanstan, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1I think you need to step out of your bunker and read the 9/11 commission report. Many important things happened before the day of attack. Why are you basing your entire rebuttal on just the day of the attack. Haven't you heard that it was pretty obvious some of these guys taking flying lessons were suspicious. Nothing was done about them though due to breakdowns in communication within and between the FBI and CIA.
I know the the response will be but that's what they want you to think!!!!!!!! But I had to respond because your reasoning about FBI and CIA involvement on they day of the attack was completely crazy and straight out of a movie script. - Linua, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1How about investigate impeachment instead?
- caleb4mj, on 01/03/2008, -0/+0I know its a rhetorical question, but consider this. You trust them to investigate the crime, but what is the crime? The CIA hiding secret evidence? Obstructing justice? Or is it 9/11 itself?
IMHO the DoJ does not seek justice, they only want to distract us from the need to investigate the controlled demolition. -
