- inactive, on 01/15/2008, -5/+46Thank you for being on the side of justice, Senior Clark County District Court Judge Charles Thompson.
- mrfreeziexp, on 01/15/2008, -1/+30That's great but you know he's only going to get 2 seconds of camera time, if he's lucky.
- LetTheEgoSoar, on 01/15/2008, -2/+25I'm glad ... the debate was going to be boring as ***** without him
- diggit83, on 01/15/2008, -2/+16They most likely will treat him like Ron Paul was treated at the SC fox debate last week. The moderators AND candidates acted like everything he said was insane, even though it was all fact. This country is no longer has "a government of the people, by the people, for the people"
Its all down hill from here folks - lucutus, on 01/15/2008, -1/+15This story just hit the main stream media http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/01 ...
I wonder if we'll see it on Fox, Cnn, or even Msnbc. - jmpeagle, on 01/15/2008, -0/+13I think it might have to do with an implicit contract agreement as everyone was aware of the verbal contract between the two parties. That is the only legal justification I can think of that is even remotely constitutional.
- rolf, on 01/15/2008, -1/+13(As a primarily RP fan here): Go Kucinich!
Let the People decide! Not the media! - omnithought, on 01/15/2008, -3/+14Sadly, the only thing likely to be asked to Kucinich is "So, seen any UFO's lately? Hyuk hyuk hyuk!"
- nelsonjs, on 01/15/2008, -5/+14Of course MSNBC (80% owned by General Electric) doesn’t want Kucinich to be in the debate. General Electric is a nuclear powerhouse and Dennis Kucinich has been an enemy of nuclear power for years.
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/NBC_s_Big_Confli ... - br0ken1128, on 01/15/2008, -0/+7The candidates deserve to be heard and the television is really the only way for them to reach the masses, therefore the media has an opportunity to be part of the system and help get the voices out there, but they have sort of a moral obligation to be fair and balanced with that as well.. Maybe we should just have all the debates on a government owned network.. screw the corporate media
- d03boy, on 01/15/2008, -1/+8UFO = Unidentified Flying Object
Have you ever seen something in the sky that you didn't know what it was? I saw a shooting star once... or was it a UFO? Dunno because I couldn't identify it. - inactive, on 01/15/2008, -1/+8Nah I'd say that he's more like the cool kid that had straight A's yet still went out with the hottest girl in school whilst trying to make the school a better place.
But the other students are all drug dealers who have been in high-school for 19 years. - JamesWilson, on 01/15/2008, -4/+11Well if they'd stop ***** gaming the system, rigging the votes, and calling them "longshots" and asking pointed questions, they'd have a shot!
"According to the report, Ron Paul should have finished third in the Republican primary rather than fifth. Thus, it would appear that both Barack Obama and Ron Paul were the primary targets of vote-rigging operations in New Hampshire. "
http://www.inteldaily.com/?c=144&a=4865 - inactive, on 01/15/2008, -0/+6well only said he was amazing, dint say anything about winning. And another thing just because you think someone isnt going to win doesnt mean you shouldnt wont vote for him, thats how democracy fails.
- Tenbatsu404, on 01/15/2008, -5/+11Yeah and those two seconds will be about him seeing a UFO.
- jon30041, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5How about in the primaries, soot? He's the best candidate there is. If he doesn't make it to the General Election, sure I'll vote for someone else. But I want him to have the best chance he can.
- AlienMushroom, on 02/21/2008, -0/+5Electability (courtesy Fox news).
- allatti2d, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5I saw it on MSNBC this morning (pacific time). However, the advertising for it is still just showing the top 3, even as I watch it now (noon pacific time).
- lucutus, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5I am curious as to how much time he'll get and what pointed questions will be asked.
- Gerz1219, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5That idea works very well in Putin's Russia. I know because the state-owned news channel told me so.
- MeatBiProduct, on 01/15/2008, -2/+7I love bologna sandwiches with cheese and they have about as much of a chance of becoming president as Ron Paul. In fact I think bologna with cheese would get more votes.
- br0ken1128, on 01/15/2008, -1/+5It's that kind of mentality that guarantees people like Kucinich don't make it .. people don't want to think they are wasting their vote and so they hand it to the seemingly most popular candidate.. which is who the media tells you it is.. it's a horrible failure of our democracy
- Rehnborg, on 01/15/2008, -1/+5lol, it's pretty much the first thing you learn in any general business law class.
- FortyCaliber, on 01/15/2008, -2/+6Why are candidates ever denied from debating anyways?
Who decides which candidates are allowed in and on what basis do they decide that?
These are serious questions because I don't know the answer. Would someone mind enlightening me? - swoopdog, on 01/15/2008, -0/+4if Ron Paul doesn't make it and this guy does Kucinich had my vote last time and will have it this time.
- MeatBiProduct, on 01/15/2008, -0/+4Cause they have to lower all the cameras 3ft to get him on the screen! ZING
- Dukaso, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3I don't see Kucinich...
Figures. - jeexbit, on 01/15/2008, -7/+10Kucinich is amazing - he's got my vote.
- allatti2d, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3I agree; this was explicitly mentioned in the AP report, that he had already been invited and then the invitation was retracted after the Iowa & NH primaries.
- SevenTwo, on 01/15/2008, -8/+11Kucinich: I can Has...Debate?
Judge: You can. - MeatBiProduct, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3what would make that different from the other debates hes in?
- dafragsta, on 01/15/2008, -1/+4***** the business of television. If a presidential candidate isn't given equal cost-free time as other candidates (which is a must, IMHO, for a fair electoral process) then the media is steering public opinion outside the realm of punditry. That is tampering with the process.
- bubba9999, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3The MSNBC site said that the state supreme court agreed that they could block Kucinich at the last minute. I didn't watch the alleged debate because of that.
- MeatBiProduct, on 01/15/2008, -3/+6Cool cause I really think we need to up our Coal Power Consumption - it makes it feel more like we are in the industrious age.
- lucutus, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3Get out of the dark and open you mind man. There are viable sources in use today by many. I light my home with Solar. There are new developments into alternate engery sources all the time man. It is now cheaper to generate electricity with solar than to use OIL or Coal.
- diggit83, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3He said nothing crazy. Drastic change IS needed to turn this country around. The people laughing are either ignorant of what his message is, or running against him. All of the eye rolling and laughing by the candidates and moderators on the fox debate was a childish and immature attempt at discrediting Ron Paul.
You have no idea what you are talking about. - br0ken1128, on 01/15/2008, -2/+5Kucinich might be permitted in the debates but I think they're going to throw him lame questions and give him the least amount of air time.. I think all candidates should be asked the same questions..
- allatti2d, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3Baloney!!
- Nevarius, on 01/15/2008, -2/+5gotta love how MSM and 2 parties pretty much control the debate. Not to mention that both parties pretty much act the same with only a few differences. How is this a democracy ?
- SideShowMel0329, on 01/15/2008, -1/+4I lol'd, but apparently Digg didn't
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2Folks, the media has hijacked the election. Time to look for the next New America.
- Locnar, on 01/15/2008, -2/+4My father in law's sister use to babysit him when he was a young lad.. (no joke!! She did!!) He use to throw fits if he didn't get his way... guess somethings never change.. He's got a good heart.. but I watched him run my city into the ground... Id hate to see what he could to to a country.. He needs to stay were he is most needed.. in his present job.
- dafragsta, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2Where do you get your information? Chances are that's being controlled by partisan groups as well.
- br0ken1128, on 01/15/2008, -1/+3And we've seen lately how spot on those polls are right? woohoo shut up! he's still in the top four even if the polls are correct! The original rules of the debate were to include the top four.. he was invited and then uninvited.. sort of a breach of verbal contract as well as being an injustice to US citizens who want to hear him in these debates.. even if just to keep it interesting, without him it will just be a Hillary vs. Obama boxing match, someone needs to inject some serious issue discussion.
- dafragsta, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2That's the purpose of the word *****. It's the crescent wrench of the English language. Rarely is it used exclusively for procreation.
Again, I think you are misinterpreting socialism with our electoral process. I never said babies deserve healthcare, even if I do believe that. What we are talking about here is the favorable advantage a candidate has by being selected for exposure over other candidates. What is the point of having elections if we have no idea where candidates stand.
A judge in Clark county agrees with me and disagrees with you. I'm sure that would be the decision in most scenarios, but then I'm talking to a brick wall here, who sees fit to let the winners write history rather than letting the truth prevail. We've got enough of a problem with that as it is. I'm not even a Kucinich supporter, but I do have expectations that the American Idol watching masses only get their political spiel through the boob tube and therefore painting candidates one way or another outside of the EDITORIAL tagline seems like a good way to spread propaganda. I guess we've given up on getting a broader picture of the political landscape in favor of brutal shameless unrestrained capitalism alone. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2I know that, but he hasn't garnered solid enough results in the last two states, and there's a point of no return in the primary process where you have to admit that he just can't contend with the other three. I'd like to think that Kucinich could pull more support, but the reality is that he's seen as too far-left of a viable candidate by most voters to be elected.
- drgooch, on 01/25/2008, -0/+2touche
- br0ken1128, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2I'm not talking state run news, the idea is to get some rules for these debates that stick and are enforced.. fair to all candidates, such as being asked the same questions and getting equal time.
- swoopdog, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2because we can vote for the lesser of two evils and real candidates like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich have almost no chance because the media controls what we are allowed to see.
