- MOJIRA, on 08/01/2008, -13/+395This is one of the best Daily Show segments I've ever seen. Not because it's funny, but because it makes such a valid point so effortlessly.
- niccha, on 08/01/2008, -11/+232Excellent. Lucid. As always... the fake news is more informative than the real news. It's like when alternatve music became mainstream, but they still had to call it "alternative."
- lundeja, on 08/01/2008, -9/+183So you'll go to hell, but not Pakistan?
- OurFuture, on 08/01/2008, -19/+165I completely concur with Mojira. We're lucky to have Stewart & Co to call out McCain and the MSM. This segment deserves lots of attention.
- stationwagon, on 08/01/2008, -16/+139"CANCER HAS BEEN CURED BY A FLYING ROBOT CAR I MYSELF INVENTED!"
- forgo, on 08/01/2008, -9/+132Funny AND informative.
I had to replay the part that starts at 8 minutes a few times. It's too funny. That smile from McCain is so awkward. - IH8PelicanFarts, on 08/02/2008, -3/+105Best campaign slogan ever! Vote McCain - I am nothing special and would probably make a terrible president.
- onyxcoltrane, on 08/01/2008, -1/+91Wasn't Iraq a sovereign nation?
- PinkChicken, on 08/02/2008, -2/+91CTV full episode link because some people hate Canada.

Clip 1/4 - jodimcmullen, on 08/01/2008, -7/+87Great video, I heart John Stewart. Can't go to Pakistan because it's a sovereign nation, but will chase Osama to hell... priceless.
- kublerross, on 08/02/2008, -3/+73This video demonizes the media much more than McCain
How can anyone with half a brain not realize the control the 3-4 major media corporations have over the propaganda most of America sucks in as "news"
seriously. wake the ***** up and throw out your tv - steelersfan7roe, on 08/02/2008, -6/+67Stewart & Colbert are heroes of truth.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -3/+62Oh yes, pointing out a candidate's hypocrisy and the stupidity of the media is so specifically anti-Republican.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -2/+57the brian williams interview after this is hilarious.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -1/+52Yeah, but that was okay, because Osama wasn't in Iraq. We can go after Osama, we can trash sovereign nations, we just can't do both at the same time.
- cramtod, on 08/02/2008, -3/+52Stewart rips into anyone who is deserving. McCain and the Republican party is just giving him more material.
- MosaicM, on 08/02/2008, -2/+48I know Obama isn't all that and he won't save us all. But honestly, McCain is just so much worse. He's owned by the oil companies and his base just like Bush was and still is.
- Swift2, on 08/02/2008, -2/+47What this makes clear is exactly how brain-dead cable news especially has become, and how much the right knows how to dole out stupid talking points in exactly the right bite-sized chunks for Matthews, Wolf et al to start playing with like little kittens. McCain, the owner of 9 houses in the millions each, calls Obama, who owns one, an elitist, and that's the word on these tiny minds for months. Watch out next by some actual Swiftboating by jerks like Jerome Corsi, which the media zombies will repeat in detail and then "wonder" if it's true. God, we need to break up the media concentration. We have a disgusting parade of hairdos looking at us every day, asking idiotic questions. They're the ultimate villains of the last 10 years.
- slundal, on 08/02/2008, -1/+44No, they are heroes of truthiness.
- greenfyre, on 08/02/2008, -1/+42You clearly missed Stewart showing Obama making the same dumb ass speech as Bush about oil prices ... not exactly high praise to be shown to be the same as Bush
- Bith8654, on 08/02/2008, -7/+44Maybe it's because Obama doesn't ***** up as often?
- tcbishop12, on 08/01/2008, -3/+34That's because McCain knows hell has better strip clubs.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -3/+33How could he, JettaMan, when it sounds like you finished off the pitcher?
- tballplus7, on 08/01/2008, -9/+38I've watched this about 5 times .... can't get enought of it and LMAO (with tears in my eyes) every time. This is a real gem. Brilliant, Jon!!
- singingsox, on 08/02/2008, -3/+31This is amazing. One of the most valid attempts to prove McCain is a hypocrite that I've seen on digg.
- TurdZilla, on 08/02/2008, -0/+25Its like he farted and wondered if anyone else smelled it.
- Sansui, on 08/02/2008, -1/+24Don't play coy. The Hilton's know Paris's reputation as well as anyone, and it's why Paris got cut off from part of her inheritance a while back. Britney and Paris are notorious these days for their infamy, not true celebrity status.
There is no one, especially not the Hiltons, that are stupid enough to believe this is anything but a jab at their negative, almost desperate, social reputations. - VitriolAndAngst, on 08/02/2008, -1/+24That was right after he said; "We are going to follow Osama Bin Laden to the gates of Hell" and then realized that he had to remember not to scare the kiddies -- so he forced his face into that grimace I last saw on the Grinch.
- Lynx55, on 08/02/2008, -2/+24Jon Stewart...my hero!
- elarson, on 08/02/2008, -3/+25Yes, Stewart did say that on the show.
- pseudononymist, on 08/02/2008, -1/+23Dude, I'm sorry to hear that. What did you find awkward about it? Their obviously ironic sniping at each other? Mr. Williams surprisingly sharp wit? Stewart acerbic yet hilarious retorts? The fact that these were a pair of intelligent people engaged in intelligent (some might say 'elitist'--see what I did there?) comedy? Really, I'm so sorry to hear of your unease. Perhaps I can help you get through this. Call me.
- wisefool9, on 08/02/2008, -1/+23So your problem is that two comedy-based fictional news show aren't fair and balanced enough?
Seen Fox lately? - Stavrosian, on 08/02/2008, -2/+23I love how people this stupid still get to vote. Yay democracy.
- Infidelcastr0, on 08/02/2008, -2/+23I'd take a televised dump on Paris Hilton....
- UglyBunny, on 08/02/2008, -0/+21George W. Bush sounds like a monkey when he speaks. One of the most ineloquent Presidents we've ever had for sure. Plenty of people thought he was qualified enough to vote for him twice...
- Vermifax, on 08/02/2008, -1/+21A: McCain's ad implies that Britney, Paris & Obama are popular celebretis lacking any true substance. In the political sense, anyways.
The Hiltons helped paid for this stupid ad with their $4600 contribution to the McCain campaign. - voteobama4, on 08/02/2008, -3/+23Hilarious...but also a completely valid dismantling of the central tenets of McCain's presidential bid.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 08/02/2008, -3/+23Why doesn't the Obama election committee just pay to rebroadcast a few of these segments?
I'm sure that they are worried about the same thing coming against them -- but really, it is the total hypocrisy and moronic platitudes of McCain that are comedy gold. The Obama jokes fall flat because they are mildly funny. To be really funny, you have to up the douchebaggery of the joke. McCain is just a better target. - hafbaked, on 08/02/2008, -1/+20you totally...missed...the point
- MidnightRIder77, on 08/02/2008, -2/+21How does The Daily Show's website have a better flash player than Comedy Central?
- steelersfan7roe, on 08/02/2008, -1/+20No. John McCain and the media are heroes of truthiness.
Stewart and Colbert are heroes of truth.
This makes the media and McCain better, of course, because truthiness comes without regard to evidence.
Stewart is still constrained by the small confines of "evidence." - inactive, on 08/02/2008, -0/+18McCain's campaign has been a train wreck so far. What do you expect? Not that Obama's perfect or anything, and there's plenty on him to rip about, but McCain just keeps setting himself up to be an easy target.
- lemonlimeblog, on 08/02/2008, -1/+18I agree that Obama doesn't ***** up as much and Jon has called him up on it when he does. Ultimately, McCain is dangerous and if I Jon, I'd be doing my best to expose McCain the way that MSM doesn't.
- zephyr42, on 08/02/2008, -2/+19@QuadZeroRoute: McCain't supporters like you make me /facepalm
- LunaticFringe, on 08/02/2008, -1/+18@5urr3al5am: When Obama did the presidential seal thing, he caught sarchasm and criticism from The Daily Show.
The whole point of Obama's campaign direction has been to be as non-aggressive as possible. Clinton tried to attack him, and it backfired. McCain should've learned that, but he's attacking vigorously to the same results. - mateo60, on 08/02/2008, -0/+17The editorial cartoons in the newspaper have always been able to be more truthful than the front page. Just like how The Daily Show often has more truth than what we see in the MSM.
- pseudononymist, on 08/02/2008, -1/+17maybe Obma just ***** up less than McCain? Could that be possible?
- dcmjzero, on 08/02/2008, -1/+17comparing a presidential candidate to people who lost custody of their kids, spent time in jail for drunk driving, made famous sex tapes, showed their genitals in public multiple times, and/or known for being stupid whores... perfectly fair comparison.
i guess it would also be fair to show john mccain with hitler because they are both conservative white politicians with military backgrounds, right? - Shadic, on 08/02/2008, -1/+16McCain is a good person? What about the whole, "Leaving his wife after she got disfigured to go after another model, but with money," thing?
- jotate, on 08/02/2008, -2/+17It's a comedy show. Stewart's said before that it's tough to rip on Obama because his fans are so biased in favor of Obama. With as much political bias that exists in legitimate media, I'm not upset by The Daily Show having some. At least they focus on pointing out and making fun of the bias that exists by outlets that are legitimately supposed to be balanced and neutral.
