- duckley, on 07/31/2008, -7/+68Wow, watch the bit where McCain is "uncomfortably" holding hands with the Dalai Lama.
As it goes on (and on) McCain begins to fidget, then a rictus grin appears on his face, then he begins to turn left & right.
"Let go of my hand, damn you" , thinks McCain.
Brilliant work (as usual) by John Stewart ! - 17999, on 07/31/2008, -3/+58John Stewart, amazingly, is the fairest guy covering the elections now that Russert has died.
He checked Barack into the boards with his "Barack O'Boner" bit. Sheeesh. He can smack McCain around for a while to even up for that. - akiriluk, on 07/31/2008, -3/+45Jon Stewart is an American hero.
- kh99, on 07/31/2008, -1/+19Just what I was going to say. A lot of people might watch this clip and say it's more proof that The Daily Show is liberal, but he joked just as much about Obama's trip.
- kaelyiesta, on 07/31/2008, -0/+17No, I don't give stephanopoulos credit for anything. That slimy douche is about as unprofessional as you can get. He panders to the popular candidates, mocks the rest. There is no journalism or investigation in what he does.
- ndngoat, on 07/31/2008, -5/+21I'm pretty sure this is the link for Canadian users: http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/#clip14940
- Origin415, on 07/31/2008, -0/+14You don't have to know much about American politics to find a clip of McCain uncomfortable from holding the Dalai Lama's hand amusing.
- charm803, on 07/31/2008, -2/+16Stewart cracks me up.
But the fly. The fly did it for me. - Justin6512, on 07/31/2008, -4/+18http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/#clip70497
for us Canadians :) - adam07, on 07/31/2008, -3/+14"Mommy, why does this place smell like death and ass?"
- oldgal, on 07/31/2008, -1/+9We can't even rebuild New Orleans, so it is unlikely we can rebuild a whole country. We can, however, throwaway billions of bucks in the failed efforts.
- damndj, on 07/31/2008, -2/+10Eh.. This isn't the attention McCain deserves. He deserves a LOT worse.
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -2/+10who in the hell is voting for john mccain? if you are voting for john mccain i would really like to know how much money you make per year. how in the hell is anyone making under 40,000 dollars a year voting republican. how is that even possible? deargod how?do you honestly believe that the republican party is capable of any economic stability. the republican party is a joke. they've run up a trillion dollar deficit. what the hell? john mccain is an absolute dullard. if he could go back in time he would be laughed out of the continental congress. can you imagine john mccain being able to hold any thoughtful discussion with alexander hamilton or benjamin franklin? this is a joke. a man who graduated 5thfrom the bottom of his class and who has been a huge recipient of affirmative action his entire life. does anyone truly believe that mccain had any business flying airplanes? he crashed like 5 or 6 of them before he was shot down. mccain had no business flying let alone running a mission. his father and grandfather were both admirals and mccain got everything in his early career by riding their coattails. goldwater disliked mccain. mccain didn't become this phony straightlaced putz until after the keating five. he's admitted to knowing nothing about the economy. he keeps promoting ***** offshore drilling and he has no business in the whitehouse. are the mccain voters smoking crack? how the hell does being a p.o.w add to your ability to be president? mccain gave up info to the vietcong when they captured him. how many of you mccain idiots buy his *****. do you seriously think mccain can fix the economy. do you really think he will do anything about healthcare? mccain is the biggest charlatan i have ever seen. i wonder if john mccain could even name the first chief justice of the united states. i wonder if he could even have a coherent conversation about the constitution. he's another richboy spoiled screw-up from the GOP. can the republican party at least put out intelligent candidates.
- throop77, on 07/31/2008, -1/+8We can't rebuild their country. It just doesn't work when we try. So far we have spent $20,000,000,000.00 of American taxes on power alone. And, they still only get power for a portion of the day (we could have just bought a solar panel for every house in Iraq for that amount of money). We need to just leave, as bad as that will be for them. We aren't helping.
- 221MXV, on 07/31/2008, -2/+7Any mirrors?
- EnderWiggin, on 07/31/2008, -2/+7The quote by Stewart (speaking as McCain) was actually "Let go of my ***** hand old man!"
I think we're old enough to say "*****" here on digg :) - 03FightOn, on 07/31/2008, -2/+7"Policy Shift"? How exactly is that a shift from what Petraeus has been doing for months?
- Brad324, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5uh... no. That's an interview with McCain from way back.
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -1/+5Do you ever read what you type? That had to be the most insignificant statement by a mccain supporter ever. Are you mad because stewart pointed out the stupidity of mccain's campaign?
- thephosphorbox, on 08/01/2008, -0/+4What I wouldn't give to spend 10 minutes in with the Dalai Lama.. amazing human being he is. I'd be overwhelmed by his presence. But of course, a crusty old American warmonger wouldn't be comfortable in the presence of such a man.
- deysman, on 07/31/2008, -1/+5Dugg for Mr. Sniffles!!
- rocktopotomus, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3we also love beatin' ours women folk and linchin' foreigners!!!
oh nos, hand holding causes gay
/s - targetpro, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3mirror?
- StarlessKnight, on 08/01/2008, -1/+4Presidents don't seem to have so much trouble holding hands or even cheek-kissing foreign dignitaries in their photo ops. McCain better be ready for that sort of thing if he's anticipating being President.
- Origin415, on 07/31/2008, -1/+4Why should we build their country when ours is falling apart?
- bjornski, on 07/31/2008, -3/+5American politics affect him too.
He seems to know more about US politics than you do. - celkin, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3Nothing in the world is funny anymore...ever.
/excessively harsh - mkeydr, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2"OH MY GOD... Flies are landing on McCain!"
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2Don't you think John McCain's hand-holing move with the Dalai Lama was eerily reminiscent of Bush holding the Arab dude's hand?
I wonder if Arabs or the Daila Lama ever refer to other guys as dudes...? - glomza, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjtfaLtLT7s
and, uh, holding hands? how about some "sword dancing"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUoycVXw9ew - hellahyphy, on 07/31/2008, -4/+5John Stewart is funny as *****!
- thePTS, on 07/31/2008, -3/+4I lol'd a little..
but I haven't watched Jon Stewart in a long while, boy has he gotten loud.. on this clip I'd actually rate him about 8 Chris Crockers out of 10 (the new US army crowd disperse gun is 9/10) - Justin6512, on 07/31/2008, -2/+3it's about 4 and a half minutes in
- TheBuzzKiller, on 08/01/2008, -2/+3thanks

That's all you got, John? - Windsurfer619, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1Thank you good sir :)
- f54280, on 08/01/2008, -1/+2Maybe not building it up. How about putting it back how it was before the invasion ?
But I don't think it is possible. Getting out of here asap would be the sanest choice. Oh, and giving them back their oil too. Yeah, I know... fat chances... - toetagger, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1President John McGoo: http://www.prowleronline.com/scrapbook/00004434/th ...
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Not his best but better than just OK. I think he ripped off a little the ***** bit in the movie Weird Science.
- duckley, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1I am a US citizen, born in Memphis, living and working in the USA for 35 years, and working in the UK. My name is not Donaldson.
I come from an important (very) Tennessee political family, with two presidents in my ancestry.
You, on the other hand, are a reactionary bigot and a troll. - Halsfield, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1mccain's earlier appearances on the daily show actually were pretty favorable(this was back in 2004 or so) and he seemed like a funny, genuine, and nice guy. Too bad he sold all of that out to try to beat the rest of the repubs and beat obama(which isnt going to happen unless someone rigs the electronic vote or something). Now he's just a sad, crusty old man with no morals.
- revisrev, on 08/01/2008, -1/+2As for your first paragraph... what the ***** are you talking about?
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1maybe a little of both ;0
- MalDON, on 08/01/2008, -1/+2I found myself laughing very hard with the fly part. Something about it just hit my funny bone.
*rubs tears from eyes* - Halsfield, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1i really liked mccain back when he would do the daily show every now and then. i think its more that mccain has changed rather than stewart changing. Mccain has sold out a lot of his ideals and his straight talk express thing went down in flames. he sold that all out in a hopeless election that demo's are almost certainly going to win if this campaign style keeps up.
- Chinnydaisy, on 08/01/2008, -1/+2jesus christ put some white space in there
