- steelersfan7roe, on 04/19/2008, -1/+171With the media in a downward spiral trending towards idiocy and tabloid *****, I'm glad Stewart and Colbert are here to poke fun at it and highlight the utter ridiculousness of it.
Because, our media is ***** ridiculous. The more people that realize that, the better. - cccombobreaker, on 04/19/2008, -1/+147funny how the two comedy/parody shows are more in touch with reality than the other network "news" programs.
- zombird, on 04/19/2008, -4/+134It's pretty bad when you have to look to a comedy station for the real news.
- dn11, on 04/19/2008, -2/+93That flag pin question woman was the kind of ignorant red neck that puts yellow ribbon bumper stickers on her car made in China as a hollow symbol, in place of paying attention and speaking out against the disastrous policies of our government, but NO DISRESPECT.
- Gabberwok, on 04/19/2008, -2/+82Stewart doing what he does best: making fun of pompous media a-holes.
- cheezintern, on 04/19/2008, -2/+70Why doesn't Jon Stewart host a debate? He's already proved he can do a better job at it.
- Stryder81, on 04/19/2008, -5/+70Ahhh Jon Is Great, Seriously. I love the fact he adds " That Is My Job!!! " that is how ridiculous it was.
" I think your mother is a whore, No Disrespect " ahahahahahhaa - Deadpixel1221, on 04/19/2008, -10/+56Ata boy Johnny! Tear those two fruitcakes a new one.
- TheGreatBelow, on 04/19/2008, -2/+45Eviscerate, a finishing move that causes additional damage per combo point. This is your instant damage ability that you should use to finish monsters off or take a chunk out of them.

- Drkgodess, on 04/19/2008, -1/+39It's sad that we have to turn to a comedy show to get real news these days.

....Sweet. - orelses, on 04/19/2008, -5/+37Mccain has a pre-cold war approach, which is going to cost us a lot of money to support so many new bases in the middle east. This is not a wise approach, just because he is a soldier at heart, does not mean he understands true foreign policy. '
He says Bin Laden speaks about Iraq being the central war on terror. However Bin Laden also says they are trying to bleed American dry; because thats all they can really do. And he just follows into that trap like all of the other neo-con suckers out there who think throwing more soldiers and money at the problem will some how fix it. Obama's approach includes a wider range of different views old and new and applies them to a more agile and thoughtful foreign policy.
We have no other choice but to make things work without forcing our physical will on other countries whenever; because the economic stability and the national security of this country cannot afford it. In 2008 we have a choice to: protect the streets and borders of Iraq, or to protect the streets and borders of the United States. We cannot afford to both effectivly. - Drahkar, on 04/19/2008, -1/+31Even worse is the fact you can walk away with a more unbiased and accurate view of things from two comedy shows than from mainstream media.
- shamanlife, on 04/19/2008, -0/+26Back during the dark ages, only the court jester could get away with speaking the truth without fear of losing their head.
- Drkgodess, on 04/19/2008, -1/+25It's funny because it's true. He is more honest and truthful about the news than most of the MSM, THAT is why most people love him.
- vegetables, on 04/19/2008, -4/+24Stewart '08
- vidorian, on 04/19/2008, -2/+21Coming from a dirt poor coon ass raised in the swamps of south louisiana, i can say that was the stupidest question ever put forth in a national debate. Hell it even made red necks hang their head in shame.
- BlackTye, on 04/19/2008, -2/+20I hope you're joking, but I'm digging you down just in case you're not.
- Delphium226, on 04/19/2008, -1/+18Oh no! He's spreading independent and critical thought! How unamerican!
/sarc - GhostyBoy, on 04/19/2008, -2/+19How does mainstream news media compete with the internet?
Sensationalism and gossip column drivel at the expense of their own credibility. Great plan. - Jordan117, on 04/19/2008, -1/+17Colbert's review of the debate was pretty damn hilarious, as well: http://www.comedycentral.com/colbertreport/videos. ...
- lex0nyc, on 04/19/2008, -2/+18They responded to the negative debate reaction for a good four minutes on World News Tonight. Still doesn't make up for it, but at least they did the good journalist thing and reported on their failure.
- eliot2000, on 04/19/2008, -1/+16We need a Daily Show Democratic Debate!
- Tiak, on 04/19/2008, -5/+20...but please do it on a flash client. Crook and liars just makes me feel bad about the state of Linux firefox plugins.
- Abdax, on 04/19/2008, -1/+15Yeah! Why the hell doesn't Obama wear a flag pin! That's way more important than fixing our broken economy!
- rebbecki, on 04/19/2008, -0/+14Isn't pollution how they got Socrates? Stewart does a fine job, yet again.
- dn11, on 04/19/2008, -2/+15I guess you didn't watch the video. I have total disrespect for such people
- Delphium226, on 04/19/2008, -1/+13Yes we saw how the media gave Bush such a tough time when it came to lying us into a war. Poor little victimized republicans.
- BlackJacket, on 04/19/2008, -0/+12He used to work inside the Clinton administration, did he not?
- Tyrghast, on 04/19/2008, -0/+12Well the entire attraction of the Colbert Report is that it's extremely biased. It's a lens for the bigots of america, hopefully some watch the show and think "Whoah, thats me!"
- ldailey06, on 04/19/2008, -0/+10He definitely meant it literally
- YodaJones, on 04/19/2008, -3/+13How the hell do people like George Picklepopsicle get these jobs?
- SpikeLee, on 04/19/2008, -3/+13As dead on as Jon was with his scathing review of the debate, the clips leaves out the fumbling by Barack when asked about the economy.
- DeadFox1, on 04/19/2008, -0/+9Obama '08.... Stewart '16!
- inactive, on 04/19/2008, -1/+10"Here in the fly to states we ask questions like this..."
Ha ha - bjornski, on 04/19/2008, -0/+9At first. Until he realized there was more money in smearing them.
I always called him "George Stuffin-envelopes"
Now he just floats to whoever pays him more. - Delphium226, on 04/19/2008, -2/+10Yes his humour is really that great. Don't worry if you don't get it.
- BlackJacket, on 04/19/2008, -0/+8Steelersfan7roe, yes. It is ridiculous. The news networks have changed their programming to gain ratings. Journalism that intends to inform ought to be objective. However, in the rare occasion I turn on television on, if the news isn't celebrity-related or complete nonsense, I might just watch it. And then I'll go out and buy a coca-cola because I'm a good American.
- pugs909, on 04/19/2008, -1/+9you come away with an accurate summary of the ridiculousness. However, Stewart did not discuss any of the substantive issues either. See BBC
- lordsteve, on 04/19/2008, -2/+9Who's John Steward?
- digitalpencil, on 04/19/2008, -0/+7"I have never said that I don't wear flag-pins, or refuse to wear flag-pins. This is the kind of manufactured issue that our politics have become obsessed with and once again distracts from what should be my job when i'm commander-in-chief"
- althea, on 04/19/2008, -1/+8are you kidding me?!
indefinite suspension of several constitutional rights and approval of torture.
i truly hope we never have to face how serious this has been. i'm afraid bush has gotten us into something our domestic political pissing contests can't get us out of. no, but really - go on about media bias or what the ***** ever. that's what matters. as rome burns? - Sawta, on 04/19/2008, -2/+8Saying their sorry that they put on a travesty of a debate doesn't mean they should be forgiven for one.
Apologies wont make someone better at their job; fixing the problem will. - scuba7183, on 04/19/2008, -0/+6Colbert '12??
- kinseyincanada, on 04/19/2008, -0/+5you talking like liberalism is a disease or something its a political stance not AIDS.
- Zoshchenko, on 04/19/2008, -0/+5I wish one of the candidates would have expressed his or her contempt at the ludicrous questions being asked and politely excited the stage. The other could have then simply said, "I agree." and walked off too. Then Charlie and George could have spent many painful minutes trying to fill the dead air with more of their self-absorbed witty comments. A new low for journalism in America.
- Ajajadude, on 04/19/2008, -0/+4Well, it's not too sad since it is a comedy show.
- bjornski, on 04/19/2008, -0/+4Put down the pipe....
