- barackoblogger, on 06/08/2008, -3/+11If you want to see Barack's record on women's rights legislation, go here:
http://www.womenforbarackobama.com/Obama_s_Record. ... - oldhick, on 06/08/2008, -2/+5I hate McCain, but I'm against many of these acts as they are unconstitutional and they are bloated bureaucratic bull *****. Lets look...
McCain Opposed Equal Pay Bill for Women - The government has no right to determine corporate pay schedules and women have the ability now to file discrimination law suits to demand equal pay. This bill entirely unconstitutional. Everyone of you who is an American citizen has the responsibility to stand up for the Constitution and prevent this kind of crap.
McCain Voted to Gut the Family and Medical Leave Act - Alright, he's a douche there. Without this bill there is no remediation for citizens. You can't really file a wrongful termination suit. So while I don't like government encroaching into our private lives needlessly, in this case there are no protections available to us. So, here I agree with the Planned Parenthood.
McCain opposed spending $100 million to prevent unintended and teen pregnancies - Couldn't get the details on this one, the link was to an Amazon.com book you have to buy. That sucks.
McCain opposed legislation requiring that abstinence-only programs be medically accurate and scientifically based - I couldn't agree more with this. You shouldn't be teaching abstinence only programs or any others in public schools. Teach english, math, history and science. But definitely don't teach "abstinence only".
McCain opposed Title X, the nation's family planning program - That one probably really sucks. But there's no link (and since I'm not voting for McCain I don't really care enough about what he did to research it myself).
McCain opposed requiring insurance coverage of prescription birth control - Bravo McCain. The government shouldn't be able to tell any organization what they can and can't cover. American citizens have freedom of choice to select any health-care plan they want and they have free birth control options available to them in every state and locality.
McCain opposes comprehensive sex education - I struggle with this as well. I certainly don't think schools should force children to attend sexual education classes. I think they should offer them, but if certain families don't want their child taught about sex in the classroom than I think they should be able to opt out.
Anyway, just some food for though. Protect the Constitution, limit the role and scope of government. Protect your rights. Once the government has control of your body it has COMPLETE and TOTAL control over you. - insomniac8400, on 06/08/2008, -0/+3Anyone that supported hillary because she is a woman isn't going to vote for McCain. It's just not going to happen.
- spriggig, on 06/08/2008, -1/+3I predict Obama will win with 60%--which would be a landslide by recent accounts. Clinton supporters will get over themselves and do the right thing.
The world can't handle four more years of Bush (oops, I mean McCain). - GregofJersey, on 06/08/2008, -3/+5Old, white, cranky, Republican men never cease to amaze me.
Sadly that includes my dad... - inactive, on 06/08/2008, -0/+2Why does John McCain hate poor woman who do not have tons of family money he can smooch off of?
- LadyOBOF, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Maybe we should remind this twisted Republican that he was born from the womb of a women. It's a blessing that in this election year women are owning their power and they have a voice. Women will be voting for Obama. Dear Mr McCain... We all know P-got Power.
- godd4242, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Why does this article link, as evidence of a McCain interview, to amazon.com?
- whataboutdave, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Because if I want to see where someone stands on an issue, I'm going to go to a website created by their supporters. /sarcasm There *are* 3rd party websites out there not designed to convince one way or another you know.
- inactive, on 06/08/2008, -3/+3I dont expect wonders from the same man who refers to his own wife as a c*nt. There is no comparison for calling a man a name that equals that.
