- KennMac, on 10/08/2008, -0/+58I'm still waiting for McCain to completely lose it in public. I saw him gritting his teeth a few times during the debate when Obama was speaking. He has a powder keg personality, and it's only a matter of time. Not someone you want anywhere near that Red button.
- bnice93, on 10/08/2008, -1/+57I wish the lady whom John McCain BACKHANDED would come forward...poor thing! The woman providing the accounts of that day is 100% believable.
- pennsykid2000, on 10/08/2008, -0/+52McCain is fond of saying he'll "reach across the aisle." He doesn't say exactly what he'll do then. Maybe it's to strangle his opponent on the other side. I can't imagine him having a stable and consistent cabinet and staff working for him if he acts like this. It also explains why he disdains diplomacy; he simply can't stay cool enough to negotiate with anyone he doesn't like.

Very Scary indeed - monofoto59, on 10/08/2008, -1/+44This is really scary....
- faizal5k, on 10/08/2008, -0/+40Too bad this ain't on the MSM much. The Obama Campaign needs to take some of these clips (with permission of course) and make it into an ad.
Obama/Biden '08 - LinuxLars, on 10/08/2008, -0/+34I get that he was a POW; I honor him for his service. And, he does not have the temperament to be president.
Nor the statesmanship - check out the "Handshake Bailout" from Tuesday's debate:

- jheggar, on 10/08/2008, -0/+28"That one!"
- Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -0/+26What was that phrase McCain kept using during the debate "We need a steady hand at the tiller" or something along those lines in reference to having a commander in chief who has a steady temperament and capable of not losing his temper and letting his emotions govern his decisions.
Why would he choose to promote Obama during a debate he's trying to win? - crone1, on 10/08/2008, -0/+25Thank you Brave New Films. You have helped me understand my gut reluctance to vote for him. This will be helpful to many. I hope it gets around widely.
- NathanCH, on 10/08/2008, -0/+23...but... but John McCain is a maverick.
- Olon97, on 10/08/2008, -0/+23Apparently this submission has been buried in under 4 hours (with 270 positive diggs). Once again Republicans show their disregard for our nation's security. (and their cowardice in being unable to post a single argument here in defense of McCain's erratic temper.)
- booksnmore4you, on 10/08/2008, -0/+23This video takes on very authentic meaning to me since watching McCain during his last two debates.
- omegaant, on 10/08/2008, -0/+21Me too! I keep thinking of the scene in "A Few Good Men" when Tom Cruise purposely aggravated the Nicholson character into exploding "You can't handle the truth" - hoping for someone to do that to McCain!
- hansendix, on 10/08/2008, -1/+19Can you imagine if EVERYONE McCain has ever hit or screamed profanities at would come forward and talk about their experience.
How great that would be. I am sure that some Repubs will still stand behind him. They must be masochistic in some way.
I can't understand how any minority, especially woman, can still vote for him after all the sick jokes he has made about us.
It just shows that he has no respect for the most of us. John McCain comes across as an angry old man, eaten up inside, who should really retire already. - netneutrality, on 10/08/2008, -0/+17McHulk unstable: http://i35.tinypic.com/25s6cgm.jpg
- angrykeyboarder, on 10/08/2008, -0/+17Scary stuff. He CANNOT be President. He's unfit.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+18Noun; Verb; POW/Maverick.
- thejimmyo, on 10/08/2008, -0/+17Although McCain has indeed taken some positions contrary to that of his party (although he's pretty much flip-flopped back on all of those by now), he has often been inflexible and undiplomatic in those contrary positions.
For example, McCain once bucked his party on immigration reform (though he has since flip-flopped back on the issue). However, in bipartisan meetings to negotiate the bill, Sen. Cornyn (R-TX) raised some objections to the judicial appeals process for immigrants. McCain exploded at Cornyn, shouting "***** you! I know more about this than anyone in the room!" He added, "This is ***** stuff!"
On a separate occasion, during a select committee meeting in the Senate, McCain "mocked Grassley to his face and used a profanity to describe him" (Chuck Grassley is a Republican Senator from Iowa, who was at the same meeting). After Grassley requested an apology, McCain stood up from his chair and refused to show Grassley any civility. Instead, "[t]here was some shouting and shoving," which Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-NE) had to break up. McCain called Grassley "a ***** jerk" and they stopped talking altogether for a long time.
The list goes on. Pretty much everyone who has worked with McCain in the Senate agrees. That's why he saw so little support from the GOP during his last run for President. Sen. Bob Smith (R-NH) has said "His temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him." So when it comes to reaching across the aisle and engaging in diplomacy, I doubt that McCain would seriously do either.

- deem1890, on 10/08/2008, -0/+16I think the time McCain spent in Vietnam effected his mentality and judgment. Poor man!
He's incompetent to lead, Example: look at his VP... She's a nut! - airforceamy, on 10/08/2008, -0/+15 Thanks for the link to "cold as ice" Yet another example of his inability to show a modicum of courtesy. If he acts that way with a fellow senator, what do you suppose he will do with his perceived "enemies" around the world?
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+15That was pretty funny, saying he was reaching across some sort of aisle while working with Joe Liebermann

He is the perfect 1980s TV cliche - the deranged ex-Vietnam vet about to explode. But this is for real, folks - as the recent hatemongering of his campaign proves. - Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -1/+14He'll lose it when he loses on November 4 and the cameras will be rolling I'm sure.
- yixiazi, on 10/09/2008, -0/+13Given his devotion to Bush policies, simplistic rhetorical justification of war funding, and style of response when confronted with differing opinions, it seems clear that he would be a definite risk to national security and stability in a time when we are talking about a financial and political mess that we are realizing no one nation can extricate themselves from alone. We need someone to be an able listener and a skilled coordinator. Leaders don't simply bark out orders and rip and tear at anything in their perceived way. They have to inspire and coordinate a nation that is right now hardly a united voice.
McCain and Palin both seem to be stirring dangerous sentiments of violence and disunion in the poorer, less educated segments. They are using the same kind of scare tactics that carried us into the falsely justified war we are entangled in. We listened twice to Bush. As Bush himself tried to say, but stumbled: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
We've been through two (count 'em) terms of government that operated like a loose cannon protecting the so-called interest of the people. With McCain professing in his own words how he aspires to be a dictator, I am clearly uneasy about his "Maverick" tendencies. I call "Fail" on that selling point! Furthermore, what will we say about being fooled a third time? A piece of apple pie and a folksy "you betcha" from Palin is probably not going to do it! - syrynus, on 10/08/2008, -1/+12McCain is scary....Palin is scarier. No brains, no knowledge, puts unqualified "buddies" into top government positions, values mindless loyalty over competence or qualifications, thinks whatever she does is mandated by God, like guns and shootin' and is ready to act "without blinking" when Putin;s head floats over the horizon.....
Uh....gulp. George W. Bush....with lipstick. - NapaRose, on 10/09/2008, -0/+11Not the guy who should have his finger on the button!

http://bravenewpac.org/rage/ - fstewart6, on 10/09/2008, -0/+10If most of us lose our temper, the results aren't catastrophic. That's not true of the President of the United States. We all need to think about this before we vote.
- KRayRPh, on 10/09/2008, -0/+10Read the articles on McCain in this month's Rolling Stone
- hankthedwarf, on 10/08/2008, -0/+8lulz
- missbelladog, on 10/09/2008, -0/+8These stories about McCain's temper are consistent with the impulsiveness he showed when he put Palin on his ticket. The guy clearly acts without thinking, then pedals fast as he can to justify it.
- leathersammie, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8OOH, I know! I saw that too! Most of the evening the hand he had not holding the microphone was clenched in a fist. Most of the time I see him he has his hands clenched in fists! He's just seething with barely concealed rage.
- JenniferInMO, on 10/09/2008, -0/+7There are tons of video clips of his explosive rage caught on tape. Many of them surround the POW-MIA documents hearings where he blocked release of documents to the missing men's families. Many speculate that he was so against releasing the records because he didn't want his own records released. He has yet to release all but 19 summary pages of his several hundred page military record. My guess is that there are incidents of anger, fighting and outbursts he doesn't want us to see. Who knows what other things are in there as well.
- Aminus, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7Well, Digg isn't the last stand or anything... spread it around however you can!
I was surprised that I didn't see any arguments in defense of McCain or anything, but it makes me think the burying was very efficiently executed, before it could grab the attention of the naysayers. - hansendix, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6It is up to us to get it around widely. We must ensure that everyone we know sees it.
It is our responsibility. - KennMac, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6Yeah really. Joe said, 'hey John, don't get up, I'll walk across the aisle instead'.

- Gavin, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2We need some video of this. The American people respond much better to video.
- bogshrink, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2If he gets elected moving to Canada might not be far enough...
And we're supposed to believe the flimsy virtually non-existent evidence that Obama is a friend of Bill Ayers and psssst... "that one" might just be a a terrorist himself...
It seems to me that McCain is a terror, and can be terrifying, and there's PLENTY of evidence to prove that.
I wrote more about McCain in my column on www.capitolhillblue.com
Hal Brown - sincerelysarah, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2He is a dangerous choice. Palin is even worse.
