- nsareadthis, on 07/15/2008, -22/+382And he crashed 5 planes. One definitely wasn't his fault when another jet misfired a rocket on deck of a carrier, and the time he was shot down in Vietnam probably wasn't his fault either, although McCain himself did say of it that "It doesn't take a great deal of effort to get shot down." The others, well, what other pilot ever crashed so many planes and still got to fly another? And for that matter, how the hell did anyone ever get to be a flyboy after graduating 894th out of 899?
Oh yeah, his daddy and grandpappy were both admirals. Straight-up nepotism, and as soon as he learned he was never going to become a flag officer because he was such a screwup, he quit the navy and ran for office.
But mcCain's the one america trusts more to become commander in chief? WTF?!?!?! - bryanbarash, on 07/15/2008, -6/+287Maybe it's just me, but I happen to think that above average intelligence is something we should look for in a President. Or wait, does that make you an elitist these days?
- AQMessiah, on 07/15/2008, -17/+281Bush was fourth.
- GretaG65, on 07/15/2008, -7/+168Just another reason to ask the question, "Okay....we've tried DUMB, and that hasn't worked out so well. Can we PLEASE give smart a try?" I swear to God, if I actually hear anyone utter any sort of comment about not wanting to vote for Obama because he's "too smart", I will have to kill them!
- rald84, on 07/15/2008, -2/+155jon stewart said it best: if you don't think you're better than me, why the ***** are you running for president?
- AutoTom, on 07/15/2008, -47/+185If this douche bag gets into the white house i swear to god i'll go on a GTA style killing frenzy
- dn11, on 07/15/2008, -6/+120This is a big advantage for him. As we already have clear proof of - America wants a president that doesn't intellectually intimidate them. The dumber the better.
- acroyear2, on 07/15/2008, -9/+117I hope the Obama campaign uses his gpa quote if they decide to go "negative".
McCain - 5th from the bottom up GPA
Obama - President of Harvard Law Review
That's it. That'll weed out the undecideds. - josereyes0, on 07/15/2008, -15/+119Well that explains a lot.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -2/+94The TV told them.
People are ***** stupid. And I don't mean, they're not intelligent, I mean they're really ***** dumb. The entire Rwanda genocide was orchestrated from a radio broadcast. Nazi Germany turned their entire population into antisemites that supported an oppressive fascist state and a genocide with 9 years of radio broadcasts and inspirational speeches.
Getting a puppet elected is peanuts compared to these things.
Main stream media will not mention these things.
Meanwhile the New Yorker comes up with this:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0708/11718.ht ...
And they're selling the same lies they used for Iraq because they want Iran to die too. - quez, on 07/15/2008, -0/+89Be prepared for a really long delay next time you try to board a plane.
Just a heads up. - IphtashuFitz, on 07/15/2008, -4/+69That high?
- t4ll3y, on 07/15/2008, -7/+67Well, he's not an elitist. Just a ***** retard.
- SpartanErik, on 07/15/2008, -0/+56Careful, don't fuel Jack Thompson's fire
Either way, drive-by's are out of the question with today's gas prices! - FadieZ, on 07/15/2008, -2/+53I think we all would, but relevance? I don't know of any Muslim anti-American candidates running for president.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -1/+52I think we've already determined that Americans are more likely to choose a President based on how much they'd like to have a beer with the guy than how intelligent, educated or even ***** aware of current events he is.
- megamod, on 07/15/2008, -3/+53I heard McCain doesn't know how to play GTA but he has people that play it for him (just like how he has people that fill up his car and people that surf the internet for him)
- vexingmodstwo, on 07/15/2008, -2/+47You'd have to leave your mom's basement first... highly unlikely.
- Sogui, on 07/15/2008, -24/+65Hey Diggers, let's try this crazy thing called logic:
McCain had admitted time and time again that he was rebellious and disrespectful towards his superiors at the Naval Academy. He didn't like the system there and used every opportunity he had to fight against it. He earned himself more demerits than any of his peers and could care less about his status there. According to McCain he didn't truly respect the uniform he was in until he got to Vietnam.
Now that seems like a pretty solid story to me. I know from personal experience that it's very easy to be relatively bright but still do poorly in school because you didn't have your heart into it. So while I'm sure many Diggers had this problem in High School, I'd love to see how you would handle the Naval Academy. Simply put: There is no valid connection between John McCain's class rank and his intelligence given that there is already a reasonable explanation for his low class rank that excludes intelligence from the equation. In fact you might even assert that his refusal to just become another chain in the command, another "yes-man" would be indicative of a more creative personality associated with higher intelligence.
Not to mention he's tested with an IQ of 132. Don't make me link it to you, google it or something. - tcpik, on 07/15/2008, -6/+45We need a president who is technologically sound to move us into the future. At least Obama wants to lay more broadband lines in rural areas. McCain probably doesn't even know the definition of broadband.
- thebigbradwolf, on 07/15/2008, -3/+41There's this old joke:
Q: What do you call the guy who graduated last in his class in med school?
A: Doctor. - randomguy132, on 07/15/2008, -3/+35Yes, but how many of them are running for President of the United States?
- aliengoods, on 07/15/2008, -10/+40From the top, not the bottom.
- acroyear2, on 07/15/2008, -0/+30Painfully true.
Joe Truckstop is looking at this video right now and thinking, "Well, man. He knows how to wear a suit. I'll vote fer him." - skoubydoo, on 07/15/2008, -2/+32He's trying to act like what he thinks the common man is...dumb, ignorant, and damn proud of it!
- thedogfatherx, on 07/15/2008, -7/+35Ahhhh another breath of fresh air amongst all the pile of ***** comments. Good for you sir.
- Scottievm, on 07/15/2008, -3/+31Bush went to Yale.
- Mononuclear, on 07/15/2008, -1/+27I drive by in my prius bitch!!
- mattrh, on 07/15/2008, -10/+35Bush went to Harvard and got a 2.35, which is actually borderline average, but hes still a pretty dumb guy. McCain graduated from the United States Naval Academy near the bottom 1%. That is how much dumber McCain is than Bush. A lot ***** dumber.
- saucypony, on 07/15/2008, -2/+27I understand that being a POW is certainly a trying experience. I do NOT understand, however, how being put through that automatically empowers someone with the leadership, insight, and decision making skills necessary to being the President of the United States of America.
Honestly, I don't understand how ANYONE in politics (not necessarily just John McCain) can play the POW card and gain instant credibility for a leadership role. That should not be the foundation of a candidate's "electability." - willgonz, on 07/15/2008, -9/+33If you enjoy reruns vote for this guy!!
- megamod, on 07/15/2008, -3/+26NONE of the other candidates brought that up why is he bringing himself down? what a DUMMY...NO WONDER!
- TsuruchiBrian, on 07/15/2008, -8/+31I'm not voting for Obama because he voted for FISA. Obviously I'm not voting for McCain either.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -2/+23Care to back up your claims? No, of course you don't, but I figure I'll ask anyway. Sometimes just prodding the trolls a little bit gets them to go away.
- inyearstocome, on 07/15/2008, -1/+22Sure, elect another president who thinks instead that THEY supersede the constitution...
good grief. - dubhousing, on 07/15/2008, -1/+22How does a youtube video compare to an insidiously funded, factually unfounded smear campaign?
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -3/+24At least it's something.
Name McCain's accomplishments now.
1. Crashed 5 planes.
2. Got caught.
3. Got tortured and talked.
4. Married while still married.
5. Dumped his wife for being disfigured in an accident.
6. Barely graduated.
7. Witnessed the 30's. - acroyear2, on 07/15/2008, -5/+26@PoopStick
Hah ha. Oh poopstick. Your next 8 years will be hell. Keep writing your material. It'll keep you busy. - richmomz, on 07/15/2008, -1/+21Just another reason to ask the question, "Okay....we've tried DUMB, and that hasn't worked out so well. Can we PLEASE give smart a try?"
No - we will try DUMBER instead. - calebhawk, on 07/15/2008, -7/+26bush seems like he'd be the "frank the tank" kinda guy at parties, that somehow became president of our country. he belongs in a beer pong tournament, not the white house. and McCain has no business in the white house either, but somehow he was able to hitch a ride on Noah's ark instead of drowning with all the non believers... (yes he's that old)
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -7/+26I'm sure if was a difficult thing but bad luck still doesn't qualify him for the presidency.
- Kristijan12, on 07/15/2008, -5/+24Hey, he is honest for a change.
- topgigmedia, on 07/15/2008, -3/+21As Jon Stewart said - something to the effect of: "I want my president to be far superior and smarter (elitite if you will) than I". Why is it that Americans want a precieved commoner in charge of our interests? Save that ***** for your favorite celeb.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -5/+23They still won't get it, Sogui. Excellent comment, but, unfortunately, you're
not speaking to a truth-seeking crowd. - pwnsey, on 07/15/2008, -2/+20Do you know anything about the US Naval Academy? It is the one of the most strenuous academic schools in the world.
- solistus, on 07/16/2008, -2/+19A quick Google search reveals that Obama graduated from Harvard Law. Magna Cume Laude. That's pretty damn impressive, whichever side of the political spectrum you're on. Isn't it about time we elected an intelligent President again?
- pintomp3, on 07/15/2008, -1/+17the video was of mccain speaking. is he swiftboating himself? in case you haven't noticed, it's mccain who has a swiftboater on his campaign:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/06/30/john-mcca ... - prhfs5, on 07/15/2008, -9/+25They share a similar command of the English language. Actually, this doesn't surprise me at all.
- soupdawg30, on 07/15/2008, -6/+22Considering most undecideds have not graduated from college I doubt they will care.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -1/+17Try that again without the lies OffPiste - oh that's right, Digg doesn't allow blank posts.
