- temsi, on 07/05/2008, -15/+91I see the GOP crowd is here first, throwing out their personal attacks.
Edwards is a talented litigator and can think on his feet. He will have a field day with Rove the war criminal. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -4/+57This could be interesting. Like Karl Rove or not, he's a very intelligent man and he knows his *****. Edwards is also a smart guy with a lot of political experience. Unlike the boring, scripted presidential debates we will be forced to watch this might be good.
- Ricky81682, on 07/05/2008, -2/+46I don't think you want to get into a mud-slinging fight with Karl Rove. As they say, "never get into a fight with a pig. You both get dirty and the pig loves it."
- DD2CC2U, on 07/05/2008, -7/+48Subjects of debate should be: FISA, Constitutional Law, Politics within the Justice Department, Putting a Governor in Jail by bringing up false charges against him, Ethics and lying, outing a CIA agent, etc.
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -14/+47edwards would be an awesome attorney general
- Albumen, on 07/05/2008, -9/+35I'm surprised Rove agreed to it. This is going to cut into the time he normally uses to pull the wings off of flies.
- evilgourmet, on 07/05/2008, -2/+20another topic:
How to steal the election.
Or is that Rove's 2009 best selling book? - Evanmontegarde, on 07/05/2008, -7/+24JFK vs. Nixon all over again (AKA, young handsome liberal versus old balding conservative)
- wphj, on 07/05/2008, -0/+14"no personal attack" ---> "personal life"
- conmulligan, on 07/05/2008, -6/+19Tear him apart, John.
- kosmoX, on 07/05/2008, -0/+12I agree. I'm not a fan of Rove or Edwards, but it should be interesting to watch.
- Gardimus, on 07/05/2008, -0/+11Karl Rove himself would be proud of such a post.
- pianomahnn, on 07/05/2008, -1/+12And Rove is a shining example of morality and leadership?
- hauntedchippy, on 07/05/2008, -1/+11How about:
Why Karl Rove is above the law - uselessexpert, on 07/05/2008, -1/+10Whatever the case may be, if Karl Rove wants to come out of this debate looking good, just don't let him rap!

That is still edge in my mind! - MikeFallopian, on 07/05/2008, -0/+8I never much liked either Rove or Edwards, but I feel strangely compelled to watch this - probably because they'll be arguing the issues, rather than the dumb fluff that has dominated the presidential campaign.
- ericjohnson0, on 07/05/2008, -8/+16The debate I want to see is Primary Obama versus General Election Obama... that would be great!
http://thesaloon.net/blog/_archives/2008/7/3/37735 ... - tidu, on 07/05/2008, -2/+10This applies to the Presidential race as well
- captainkeene, on 07/05/2008, -3/+11Better to get rich off frivolous lawsuits than the blood and tears of american soldiers and iraqi civilians.
- kanvas, on 07/05/2008, -4/+11I would like nothing more than to see somebody bitch slap (and then imprison) Karl Rove, but Edwards is weak. Remember his debate with Dick Cheney?
- phillykid162, on 07/05/2008, -4/+10Any political science professor worth his salt will make his/her students watch this. Karl Rove is a political evil, depending on who you ask, genius and might just mop the floor with Edwards. However, Edwards is a smart, experienced politician who will now how to act when the cameras are on.
Will watch... - bornfreeid, on 07/05/2008, -3/+9Umm, Rove won't appear for a Judiciary hearing, but he is going to show up for a debate with Edwards?
- semrocks, on 07/05/2008, -0/+6Said the one who then proceeds to refer to Rove as "faux Emperor Palpatine"
Hypocrisy anyone? - cronian, on 07/05/2008, -1/+7What about post-election Obama? Who is that?
- grantmoore3d, on 07/05/2008, -2/+8At first I thought they were talking about the John Edwards who did that Crossing Over show... you know... Biggest Douche in the Universe
- Gardimus, on 07/05/2008, -0/+6I don't know if Rove is more experienced at debate. Rove is a strategist, and isn't usually required to think on his feet.
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -1/+7I heard that it was supposed to be this month, but it had to delay because Rove had to make an emergency trip to oversee the final completion of the Death Star personally. So I guess i can wait a few more months.
- rock774, on 07/05/2008, -5/+10I wish this dirty trial lawyer would crawl back under his rock for good !
- BroncoKid, on 07/05/2008, -0/+5That's my school! and it's University AT Buffalo, not OF. They're two different schools. I actually took a class with professor Dyck listed in the article. worst. professor. ever. Either way though, I'm pumped about this, sounds like it should be a fun debate to watch.
- bjornski, on 07/05/2008, -0/+5There's that whole "oath" thing that Karl doesn't like.
Not needed in a debate. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -2/+7 Rove has shown he is smart, it will be interesting to see how he performs on the fly against the polished Edwards. Rove is probably brighter but can he think in the moment against t a more charming and media savvy opponent?
- dakbonsa, on 07/05/2008, -0/+4Shouldn't Rove be in jail by then?
- kolinkoolface2, on 07/05/2008, -0/+4and who won?
- defektiv, on 07/05/2008, -3/+7"my first question, can i call you turd blossom?"
- ATLien74, on 07/05/2008, -0/+4Well he wasn't rapping, he was just saying his name. The guy that WAS rapping made Kevin Federline look like Jay-Z though.
Also, that black guy on stage with them maybe the whitest black man in the history of the world.
My eyes are burning and my ears hate me now. Thanks. - hellsing47, on 07/05/2008, -3/+7Karl Rove will be able to handle Edwards.
People will probably digg this down because omghangthebloodforoilwarcriminal, but the man got Bush elected twice. TWICE. - Wildog27, on 07/05/2008, -0/+4Most people who watched on TV said that Kennedy won. Most people who listened on the radio said Nixon did.
http://tinyurl.com/4txyz - KJSatz, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3Which one?
- TheInformer, on 07/05/2008, -4/+7Edwards has Rove beat in the hair department. Can't remember the last $400 haircut that Rove had.
- waggdogg, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3Tickets for individual programs, including the Edwards- Rove event, are expected to go on sale a short time later.
Who is making money on this? If Edwards cries and pretends he is a baby in the womb, he might win. - tidu, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3who do you think?
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3Karl is going to give him a hair cut...........
- TheInformer, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3But Obama's myrmidons poke their heads in the sand when contradictory Obama information appears. Contradictory McCain information is trumpted by the myrmidons.
- bababoosh, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Yeah because he's already sold his soul and can't make anymore oaths without bursting into flames.
- greenroom628, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2i'm looking forward to seeing that doughy fat boy run away crying to his bushie.
- bjornski, on 07/05/2008, -1/+3Then go play X-box or something.
The adults are interested. - AvangionQ, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2Karl Rove and John Edwards debate ... I hope this is televised -- would be worth watching ...
- dagnome1984, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2But Karl Rove is a criminal genius.
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -1/+3At least this article reminded me not to vote, as I live in NY, making it pointless.
