- CGProphet, on 10/17/2008, -0/+11This poor, poor man.
The media has run him through the ringer for asking a politician a hypothetical question about starting a business.
I've dugg this because it's a valid point that he would recive the tax cut in theory. But he is also right in his original scenario. He would get a tax increase if he made more than 250K. But to be also fair - if Obama's incentives materialize he would gain tax credits and help as a small business.
I have heard a lot of talk about small business but what is that really? Aal company in my hometown makes plastic cases for collecting coins - they make at least a million dollars a year and employ about twenty people. They would in fact be hurt badly by a tax increase and would probably have to let some people go. - diggitydooda, on 10/17/2008, -0/+8Small, medium and big businesses, along with the wealthiest Americans, got HUGE tax cuts under Bush, while the middle-class got shafted. The average worker in the US is more productive now than they were when Bush came into office, yet their average pay has gone down over $2,000 a year since he took office. In plain English, the average "Joe" now works harder for less pay than before Bush took over. So now you want complain because Obama is going to take back those tax cuts to the rich and give the American worker a break for once? Sorry, you get no sympathy from me. "Boo-hoo, I'm making a million dollars a year and I'm going to have to pay an extra $10,000 a year in taxes now!" Joe's argument is basically that he doesn't want to make more money, because he will have to pay more taxes on that money. That's the most insane thing I've ever heard!

- tjordanchat, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3If Joe the Plumber says that in an Obama spot, McCain bye bye
